Nobody ever needs to apologize for or explain away what they believe. I, personally, believe in Christmas so never use "generic" or "holiday" cards but I am not offended by people who do. Too much looking for something to be offended by in this world, too much concern about accidently offending others (which is their problem, not yours) and waaay too easy to find things to criticize--people with something critical to say should keep it to themselves--it doesn't help anyone paint better and that is the purpose of the channel. Thanks, Emma!
Well said...i think everybody really needs to take a deep breath and step back and practice... “if you have nothing nice to say... then say it to yourself, in your own head.” or however that saying goes 😅🤣 painting nature has never hurt anybody... I don’t think.. I guess if one uses toxic paint may.be... anyway. Merry Christmas everybody... I wish everyone peace and joy to end this crazy 2020.... 🙏🙏💙💙
I just heard it called “recreational anger” or “recreationally offended”. It made so sense to me. Absolutely no one is suffering because of a well meaning greeting regardless. In all of my 63 Christmas holidays, never once have missed hearing “Merry Christmas”. I would love to wait until December sometimes to hear it. But I don’t get offended even when it’s before Thanksgiving. There’s a lot of different holidays in just a few weeks. Happy Holidays isn’t offensive unless Christmas is being used to be offended as a reason to be upset.
I agree with your closing comments. There are billions of people on this planet who don’t celebrate Christmas. That doesn’t mean we can’t love them and treat them with love. Thank you! BTW I love these designs!
I love your teaching style and that you keep the camera close to the paper and that you keep your hand out of the way. I say that in the nicest way possible😊
What you share is just a present, dont apologise. Sharing is a gift for everybody, if somebody complain, they must a personal problem. Not your fault. Thanks for All your beautiful vidéos and smille. 🙏🏼
Emma, I’m very impressed with the way you explained that whole “holiday/Christmas “ thing. It makes so much sense. And by the way your painted cards are very tasteful and stylish. I’ll certainly give them a go. Thanks.
If someone posts something I don’t like it’s simple...I don’t watch and I certainly wouldn’t watch and complain and give a 👎. I love all your videos and this one is super awesome just like you. Keep shining!!
“Holidays” for those non-Christians I love, “Christmas” for those that I love and belief in its meaning. I also wish PEACE to ALL mankind. Thank you for sharing your talent, it’s appreciated.
I was just mentioning to my husband that your Christmas card tutorial from last year was what got me started in watercolors. Fast forward to this year I am making Christmas card sets to send to relatives and its all thanks to you. Don't listen to haters. They have nothing better to do with their time than cause negativity. I will always be a "watercolor Emma" fan.
You are right and you don’t deserve to be bullied! It’s supposed to be a happy time of the year, and 2021 has to be better than 2020. So happy holidays to all!
Good for you’re. People like getting card & it doesn’t matter if it’s Christmas or a happy Holidays card. It’s the fact that you thought of them. Blessings & Happy to you & your family👍🌈
So glad you took the time to comment on all the Holiday/Christmas hullabaloo! Happy, Happy everything to everybody and poo poo to the grinches who have to criticize everything.
To work toward inclusiveness means compromises and understanding. Thanks for sharing your positive attitude and hope. In the coming year(s)😉 I hope we will all give and receive more understanding and kindness.
Hi Emma, this little speech of you it must be called "Empathy". That's all about it right know, there and here in the opposite corner of the world... Let's celebrate people, whatever you feel you wish to celebrate! This is going to be a very special holiday for all of us, for multiple reasons. Lets keep ourselves thankful and empathic with everyone. All the best, from Argentina.
Just started painting with watercolors and your videos have been a great help! Also, I am absolutely agree with you 100 % on the Happy Holidays vs Merry Christmas debate. Look forward to learning so much more from you!
Love your casual style and beautiful designs. Thank you for being inclusive in your language and for pointing out we can use the words we want to use on our own customized cards. It’s important to be considerate of others without giving up our own preferences.
Emma, your card are always an inspiration. I will be trying these as “Christmas”, “Holiday” or general cards. Your explanation for calling them one thing or another was spot on.
Good for you Em!! Merry Christmas! I have close friends who celebrate Hanukkah! Yup! We're all individual and we all matter! Let's celebrate our well being and show it in kindness to everyone! Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Beautiful cards and I know how you feel about celebrating. My neighbors don't celebrate the Christian holidays, but I send them a "have a wonderful winter" card. I really don't know if they like it or not, they've never acknowledged getting one. Who cares, I love making and sending cards. I only thought I was done with my Christmas card making until I watched your video. Now it's back to the studio!! Have a wonderful winter, holiday, Christmas or "whatever!"
Emma, Thank you. Some may be critical of my comments, as some seem to be critical of all comments, but I want to thank you. You've made me brave, and, I want to think "creative", although all I am doing is following your lead. I have never done much with watercolors, even though I have always admired them and wished I could be brave enough to try. Well, with your guidance, I've tried, and I'm having soooooo much fun. I've created cards and pictures for those I care about. I never would have done it without you. Your welcoming, accepting, and kind attitude make it all possible. I feel like I have my own private teacher who adapts to my weird hours and inconsistent schedule. Thank you. I love your tutorials. I'm learning so much. You are amazing, and I'm so thankful that you provide these wonderful classes - especially in this strange and challenging time of COVID.
I am gonna make some for my colleagues this weekend! This period is when everyone are clearing their leave and the mood is just generally cheery! I am Muslim but I do enjoy this period when I get to give them cards and gifts to show my appreciation to them and to wish them the best for coming New Year..so i appreciate you taking the time to explain the happy holidays greeting!
You cards are beautiful! Let’s be grateful that we celebrate the beautiful art. How thoughtful that you include everyone in celebrating however they celebrate . Let’s be kind to everyone
These are beautiful! I’m sooo with you on the Christmas/holiday thing. Wish each other well, that’s the essential thought. Write happy Yule! Happy winter! Happy new year! Draw a heart! Geez.
Emma Jane, I have recently retired and wanted to learn how to paint flowers….I’ve got acrylic and water colours and love, love, love your videos. I’ve learned such a lot this afternoon and am now inspired to paint some lavender. (But I had no green tape to secure the paper so have just ordered some off Amazon!) I’ve watched a number of people but many annoy me for many reasons….you are perfect, and an excellent teacher. (I used to be a teacher) I’ve got a really interesting number of videos in my library and will continue to watch you and learn. Do you come on regularly? Many, many thanks, Nina x
I completely understand and share the same sentiment. I don’t really celebrate Christmas but I make Christmas card to my Christian friends and I send out Happy holiday cards to those who don’t celebrate. Then send out new year card as happy holidays to my Asian friends. Thank you for considerate and inclusive. It is great tutorial!!
I celebrate Yule personally. I have friends that celebrate Hanukkah or Christmas. I've been making these all week for all my friends and family during this holiday season. Thank you for being inclusive!
There are lots of easy glue and tape products made for scrapbooking that are great for this type of card-they are invisible and don’t leave the paper wrinkled. Thanks for this tutorial!!
I'm sorry that people felt the need to give you the Christmas only speech. Your cards are lovely. Thank you for sharing your art with us. Please have wonderful, warm , and happy holidays with your family and friends.
Thank you, Emma, for your great tutorials! I love your cards! I also appreciate your caring explanation about celebrating holidays, no matter what we believe. I agree 100%! Personally, I have some Jewish friends, so I always send holiday or Hanukkah cards to them and Christmas cards to others. We all need to be more kind and open with each other.
Thank you, Emma! Your "holiday card" tutorials are wonderful. I appreciate your comments at the end, as well. We all can reach out to our fellow man during the holidays, regardless of our faith or lack thereof. Holiday themed cards are just fun!
November 2020, a time to show respect for our friends, neighbors, relatives, strangers no matter their likes or dislikes. Our country is starving for unity, you can start helping our country to heal with a few kind, repectful words. ❤️
I truly loved your tutorial and thank you for addressing the whole Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays issue. As a preschool teacher for many years I didn't enjoy when we were told to wish parents and children Happy Holidays but I always respected our families and followed our school's policies.
You are so kind to share these tutorials, your designs are beautiful! So sad that you have to explain this whole holiday issue to people, what a silly thing for people to stress about. Thank you for sharing your beautiful paintings!
That is a very respectful way to handle Christmas or Holidays, so don't worry. The fact that your thoughts are with people at this time of year is all that matters. Lovely tutorial Emma, thank you.
Wow....you are a joy to watch. I've been wanting to find an easy video to make pine cones and pine needles, as well as berries, and you've given me all in this one short video. Now it's time for me to get started on my Christmas cards. Thank you, Emma.
Wonderful closing. I am atheist and a teacher but make cards and celebrate getting together with family and friends during the holiday season. My name is Avelina not Javier. That is my husband but his account doesn’t have commercials. I love your paintings and I am learning. Never in my life have I painted anything. I’ll show you how it looks when I am done.
Hey Emma, I just wanted to say with your wonderful happy holiday paintings and fabulous lessons I am feeling the Christmas spirit a little more. All my grandsons ended up in foster care when they and mom became homeless. So this holiday is going to be sad for us. I couldnt find a way to get into the spirit. I have now with your help. I will make each grand a pretty holiday card to hold their gift of cash/their requests. Lol thanks so much for all you do.
Emma. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I can't wait to give it a try. Love your comments. Just remember, be you, say what is in your heart, and you can't go wrong. Love and peace to all.
Thank you so much for these wonderful little classes!! My mother and her brother always made their own Christmas cards, always watercolor. They are both gone now :-( and I am picking up the tradition. So happy to get this running start with your help. ANd I VERY much appreciate your inclusivity and your willingness to ‘take a stand’ on that topic. It’s so important for us to hear this message. It means a lot to me. Thank you Emma!!
EmJ, these are lovely cards that anyone should enjoy receiving. More rewarding than a text or mail and nature inspired. Wish more people would send cards during tough time we're experiencing. They're lovely keepsakes as well. Thank you for video and sharing your art.
Thank you thank you thank you for this tutorial! I feel like a rockstar 😊 Who knew the most difficult part for me would be the handwriting! Seriously considering a stamp kit.
Well done! Thank you so much for sharing. You are awesome. It's the little things, in my opinion, that really do matter. Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, Merry Christmas....whatever but remember the importance of the season. Be kind, love your neighbor, peace for each other. That's what's its all about!
Christmas, Holiday, Hanukah, Kwanzaa...whatever you choose to celebrate...do it with LOVE in your ❤️ for your family & fellow man. We so need it in 2020!!!
What beautiful cards. Sorry this brought on frustration but I understand why. I have many friends from diverse backgrounds, Jewish, African, Pagan, etc. they do not celebrate Christmas so I look for a box of cards that says Happy Holidays and another box that says Merry Christmas. As I was taught . . . there’s room for everyone at the table. ♥️
It’s YOUR show girl! It’s awesome- nothing to apologize for. They choose to watch you. Tired of people trying to change everyone’s beliefs to match their own. Ridiculous. Beautiful job
Thanks for your lovely card tutorial. Happy Holidays, Merry X-mas, Joy to the World, Season's Greetings- it's all good. Please don't waste your energy on those who forever find something wrong. Love your tutorials.
Thank you for making such a nice final remark. I grew up celebrating Christmas and I don’t see the problem in wishing someone who doesn’t Happy Hollidays. 👍🏼 I enjoy your videos a lot.
Lovely tutorial Emma, thank you. Well said about the Christmas/holiday thing at the end. Just want to wish people well , why do people have to make an issue out of that. Keep doing exactly what you do 🙂
I love using that metallic palette! For my not-so-steady hand, I use a small flat brush to paint a uniform outline around the border. Love your work and your videos!
Generally when I try to follow a water colour tutorial, I always get confused because some parts of the video are sped up or cut out. I'm so happy that I can follow Emma's video without having to worry about any of that.🙏🙏❤️
Beautiful! Everyone is getting a card in the style of Emma Lefebvre this year! You are a great teacher! Super easy and a great way to practice mindfulness.
Without the birth of Christ, which is why we celebrate Christmas...there is no reason to have a holiday, which means "holy day." We would just have Thanksgiving and then New Year's Day. We give give gifts, because the magi brought gifts to Christ. So, we would send cards for Thanksgiving or New Year's Day. However, I love giving out Christmas cards. Your tutorials are amazing and you are extremely talented. Thanks for sharing your gift of watercolor painting. Merry Christmas!
A quick and beautiful splash of art. I can barely believe that I actually followed along with you this time. I've learned so much from your method of instruction and sharing over the past months. Thank you and So you dear kind hearted person, I am "WISHING HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU!" Point well made and Graciously received as an expression of the kindness from your heart to wish all people well! 🙏💛😊 Hope you all will ENJOY LIFE, PAINTING AND EACH OTHER. 💛
You inspired me to make Holiday Cards as COVID -19 has kept so many folks inside that a real personal touch is worth a thousand words. Thank you for saying that NOT everyone celebrates XMAS.
Both of the cards are beautiful, and look like something I could tackle and be happy with! I particularly love the berries -- the mix of greens makes it look both fresh and seasonal. Can't wait to try
Nice presentation for your holiday cards, I really like your evergreen tree bows, I would say either white spruce or blue spruce is the type of tree, however its your tree so it can be whatever you want to call it. None the less well done.
Sorry you had to deal with that - hopefully we can begin to move to a more loving, kind, inclusive society in the new year and beyond. Thank you for sharing your talent! Not sure if I will paint any this year as I have so many other projects going, but have to say it sure felt good to watch - great therapy! Peace, joy and love from Florida.

so simple and sophisticated. These are fantastic. Thank you
I love them! I don't celebrate Christmas as Christian people do, but I enjoy it as "holiday" :) Thank you for your tutorials!
I don't either, I'm making Yule cards 🥰
Same 🥰🥰
Do everything except for going to the church.
I love that you expressed your thoughtfulness for all !!!

Why do people have to be nit picky? Your cards are lovely.
Perfect message foe everyone! Some people are too sensitive.
Love these cards! Looking forward to seeing more.

Emma your tutorial videos are the best I have seen. They are simple to follow and filmed well. AND you are such a beautiful person inside and out!
I am so glad you addressed the inclusivity issue...good for you! You are so talented, and you make these beautiful cards look so easy! I am in awe.
I am left handed and I wish I could control by brush as well as you do. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.

Agree with you about the Happy Holiday cards.
Those cards are beautiful and the message at the end of the video is even better! 💖💖💖
Thank you very much.... well said. Beautiful cards I think you are wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to show us great techniques. 😊

Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent and wishing you many wonderful blessings ♥️🎄
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!!

I believe a new hobby is about to be born. 🥰
You make it look so easy, I will give it a try.
Thanks 👌🏼
Just an idea for a holiday card: country mailbox, with snow on top. Love your paintings! Thanks for giving me lovely inspiration!

You are brilliantly sweet and loving. Big hugs for being you❤️❤️❤️🤗
Bravo to you sharing your truth. I agree Christmas is it the only Holiday. ❤️❤️❤️🤗
I appreciate your art and your inclusiveness. Love love love your videos! ❤❤
