That's the price here in Australia, great tuff boats and double skinned unsinkable. We use them here as work boats, wrap around a pilon and it just pops back into shape.
$35k (with trailer) You could certainly find some used middle grounds, heavy offshore boats, a very well made flats boat, or an in between for that price. Or, an offshore boat and a few kayaks for inshore.
Certainly not a dry boat but the chines make a huge difference. I am in the process of modifying the front and rear seat area for storage / cast deck. I love my 480 and would not have an ally or glass boat again.
Nice walk through on our boat. We absolutely love this boat. We waited over a year and a half for it to come over from Australia and it’s actually the first 480 CC to be sold in the states. We couldn’t be happier. More 480 vids with Aliex to come :)
It's the same material poly as the 55 gallon blue drums that's used on chemicals, or other fluids. I have them and I store waste oil in them outside for almost 10 years and no deterioration at all.
Here in Australia I have owned my Polycraft for 19 years. It is what they say no maintenance and rides over choppy water better then any boat it’s size. The trailers are also great so simple to drive them on.
I like the idea of the boat but a 16ft tracker deep v with a 90hp on it come in under 27,000. If it would have been priced at 10k-15k maybe have something, but for 34k you can get a lot of boats for that price. Really feel like he missed to price point on this boat.
Brother.... you should also do a review on Whaly boat so people can more options.... a whaly need only a 40 horse Outboard fully loaded and does everything a poly for under 20k.
needs 40 hp but with a larger engine and heavier boat comes stability! you can stand anywhere on a poly and it will barely move. stand on whaly boat and watch it rock. why does he have to cover every boat..its his channel man. he can do what he wants and you can go watch other boat reviews if you want
$35,000 for this setup…. A lot of comments how this boat has so much more and is a better value than an aluminum or glass equivalent. I’m not sure what comparisons people are looking at but you can get both the Xpress H18 and H17 for less than this and if you spend another $3,000 and you can get Xpress X19 Pro. Every boat isn’t for everyone but we need to make sure we’re putting legit info out about price point comparisons. This is literally $35k for a plastic hull with a motor and not much more than a high end kayak. To each their own and by all means spend your money where you choose. Keep up the grind Aliex👍🏼👍🏼
Not made for a full send thru Haulover. More importantly how does it hold together over the years. Fittings and screws holding tight or losening? Panels warping, etc.
The trailer might be less than ideal for hull support , I'm guessing the trailer is made in the U.S . Check Oceanic trailers ( Australia) they seem to be the most common trailer used for Polycraft, has 4 long blue poly skids .
This is a great boat, just needs some tweaking. I would get rid of that big bench seat in the back put a live well instead, (in the center of that bench seat) and put collapsible jump seats on both sides of the live well. I will also make sure that there is enough room under one of the jump seats for a 5 gallon bucket that can be secured in place with a bungee cord. Then I would put a removable tackle box under the center console. Underwater lights would also be nice if they could be installed. Somebody down below mentioned being laughed at at the sandbar with this boat. I tell you what; if I have this boat, I will be busy catching bunch of fish inshore and offshore and having the time of my life while other people are getting drunk and stupid at the sandbar!!!
Can anyone tell me how to repair a plastic boat? I know they are tough but corner wear and accidents do happen I have never come across a convincing repair method.
Great review brother! Do you carry caddy cabin version of this boat? I’m on Great Lakes, some days it could be rough here. Also in Australia they sell 450 can you get it to us? Not sure if 480 with 90 hp would fit in my garage. Trailer is important to have right with these ones.
Nice but way too expensive. This will slingshot the price of premium fishing kayaks through the roof (more than they already are). We’re already pushing 5 to 7 thousand for top fishing kayaks, this concept takes the price point way up and in turn we end up with a $20,000 plastic shell, no real features, my AP136 beats this in every way with exception of power and passengers. Once again cool concept but shouldn’t be priced more than 5 thousand for the hull.
I dig it bro. Side console for the win. So much more room than an American made fiberglass CC. You have to get a 23’ CC just to have any working space. That’ll cost you $70-$100K on the used market.
I have mixed emotions- At first glance i cant wrap my head around a plastic boat- makes me think of toys or kayaks or something. Looking at longer it makes sense for smaller boats and has some decent potential for long term use. That looks like its tough as hell.
The 530 Warrior is the next model up and the biggest is the 599 Frontier but right now, they’re only available in Australia. The 480 is the biggest model available in the states at the moment. The pandemic made the shipping situation crazy. We waited a long time for the 480s to come over.
The Polycraft boats are extremely robust. We've had them in Australia for years. Just think of a kayak made from the same material and the abuse they can take over river rocks, gravel and transporting.
Theres a test on UA-cam where they drop a poly boat from 10mts using a crane onto concrete. Poly boat just bounces no problem. Not sure a fibreglass can handle that...
Been in the plastic industry for thirty years Uv is a bitch I’ll buy a aluminum boat At over thirty grand at least I know aluminum will still be usable in thirty years
