    The thumbnail made me try to see if there were a Turbo Grafx 16 game of GS Mikami - the Superfamicon GS Mikami game is a cool looking platformer. My crude search only turned up a PC Engine CD game, though, and a card battle game of some sort. Oh well ...

      There had to be at least one anime-style PC Engine CD game of GS Mikami. Pretty much every anime/manga big enough in Japan at the time had its PC Engine CD game.

    In the beginning of the video you've mentioned Bravoman, and I thought to myself, Bravoman can be a DLC for Arms, There's some legal things that you have to go through for him to be DLC, but it would be a good fit for the game.

      Really? I specifically remember seeing the Turbografx 16, the CD add on device, and games, in every Toys R Us store I ever went into in the early 90s. I don't remember seeing it in a Radio Shack, but I also remember seeing it in the mall at stores like Electronics Boutique, Babbages, etc.

    Good Job! I never even heard of that one growing up. I was one of 3 people that I knew of in my highschool that had a TG16 / Duo system. I knew about from magazines the Super Graphx, PC Engine Shuttle, Core Graphx etc but never really new what the differences were as far as compatibility. Then again... we didn't have internet like we do now. Crazy to think about. In the grand scheme of things internet is not really that old.
    Anyway.. great job as always. I love learning about these obscure systems 25years later lol.

  • @raydeen2k
    @raydeen2k 5 років тому

    The TG-16 was and still is my favorite of the 16bit era (even though it wasn't quite 16bit). The CD attachment alone made it a must have (provided you could afford it - I was young, living at home, had a decent job and loads of disposable income - that didn't last too long).

    Enjoyed the video. Two thoughts:
    I didn’t realize that you were such a fan of the PC Engine. I remember your feelings toward it being described as lukewarm, even during your live sampling of the system’s library with Mr. Street.
    Also, I’m probably one of the few fans who misses your pronunciation of “Pee-Shee” Engine.

    • @TopHatGamingManChannel
      @TopHatGamingManChannel  5 років тому +1

      It is one of those systems that has grown on me immensely over the last, the more time I have spent with it. My experiences have been the same with the Sega Saturn at an earlier date. Street and Orb do not like the Saturn much for some reason either, I guess they have not got a taste for fine wines!

  • @SenatorBanana

    God damn it every single time you upload I watch to see if you've fixed your vocal sound, and it STILL sounds like you've recorded yourself with a Nokia 3310 inside a bathroom. It's not even that expensive to buy a decent microphone and pop filter and get a few plugins on your computer like a good compressor and equaliser so you can properly process your recordings. Pair all that with some soundproofing foam in the room you record (or even blankets on walls/ceiling) and you should be good. IMO your content is bloody excellent, you are just being held back by your production values.

      We pay him for being our #BigDaddyTopHat on Patreon. UA-cam pays him for commercials (that's why he gets ~3-4 in during his usual ~12-15min video). Also he prolly sells black market knives to the youths of England, and he uses his career as a "Professional Wrestler" and "UA-cam Influencer" to launder the money he collects from unbinned knives.

    • @TopHatGamingManChannel

      @@sinicalypse LMAO top comment! Recently a lot of the really rare hardware that has appeared on the channel belongs to Quang of Asobi Tech (The UKs largest console collector). As for my own collection, I procured most of it before I was on UA-cam. My life was boring and I was only allowed 4 weeks off a year from my day job so I use to spend all my money on games and consoles as had nothing else to do with it. Now I have free time to travel from being a full-time UA-camr and a son to look after, I have no hole to fill in my life and no reason to really collect like a mentalist, so I only make procurements when I desperately want something. I also have an additional income from my home I have rented out in England.

    You REALLY should read up more on history (not gaming) before you make it part of your videos. I very much enjoy your channel and content which is always first-rate, but this video with the political history comment has major accuracy issues. Personally, I prefer political commentary not to be in videos about gaming. This one just left a bad taste in my mouth. Still, I will continue to watch your channel as I have from the time you only had a few hundred subscribers (of which I was among the first).

      What? It's true. Korea banned the sale of Japanese products and to get around this Japanese firms partnered with korean conglomerates to rebadge their stuff. This didn't end until the late 90s and 2000s when the laws were relaxed.

    • @AlbertSiegel
      @AlbertSiegel 5 років тому

      Yes, that's not what I'm referring to. The ban had nothing to do with comfort women (wartime sex workers and slaves) as the ban (not just on Japan) was in place well before the issue became a sticking point between both countries. Also, Japan repeatedly apologized, so incorrect to say they did not.
