It's only a matter of time before he can replace those screens with a high definition virtual reality goggles and high quality audio headphones for the most immersive experience. I love technology.
Micah Prock Well thank you, I hope we get to see and experience many amazing things in our lifetimes. Technology is progressing at such a rapid rate and it truly brings joy to many people.
I remember a similar video of a similar system with the Solberg brothers (both WRC drivers and one being a WRC champion) and they were thrilled. Those guys were flying around in that thing and it was truly amazing to see how they could handle it.
I'm halfway there ya noob. 10,000 more to go and I'll be using it to upgrade my car with titanium rods, dual turbo (one small/one large for no lag), coilovers, lightweight flywheel, and all sorts of upgrades.
Vendetta042 you feel a really hard hit on the side and the seat tilts as far as possible and stops. It does not simulate the movement of the seat but the forces that you feel.
Imagine this set up for a motorcycle simulator. Cars are bad ass too, but I can see one of these being developed for professional MotoGP riders for practice too. I hope they'll make a consumer model too...
Have a bucket ready. Also, you would have to disable the positional tracking on the Rift. You don't want the seat movement to be throwing your camera around ingame.
cg guy I was in Miami Florida yesterday. Motion-Sim.cz is located there. I called to see if I could try it out, but they don't have any on display. Miami is their only location in North America. Why would anyone buy this when they have no way of trying it? I'm not wanting to buy it of course, I just wanted to try it out and do a little review for youtube.
+GTSpeedster I agree that it's not better in it's current state although I am fairly certain that the future of immersion belongs to VR. It will be different with upcoming HMD's, HTC Vive being the first with a no motion sickness guarantee. All the consumer headsets have twice the resolution than CV2 and they are already building 4k headsets for 2018 which will be realized by the two new gpu architectures rolled out primary by Nvidea in 2016 (Pascal) respective 2018 (Volta) each with especially significant improvements in VRAM over previous generations. Pascal = 32GB VRAM.
Tbh, you could get a lot more with spending a lot less if you choose your own setup. Say pick a motion seat with triple monitors, Fanatec kit, and a good PC and you're good to go. Doesn't even need to hit 20k.
***** Actualy I do, 1,4kW per hour it's not a big issue for this type of machine. My electric heater spends 1,8kw, but obviously it all depends on how many hours you spend in that simulator :)
I'll wait for the optional holodeck to come out, those screens are pretty small, considering it's $20,000. I gotta see, if this was 2014, what's out now?
I would think that with a machine that looks as high-tech and expensive as this they would have screens that go right to the edge instead of screens with thick frames.
DrocDoc as much or more than the already existing VirtualGT, anywhere from 15,000 to 150,000 US Dollar. They do not have or show prices on their website.
+Andrey Ivashin I'm sure the reason he's saying this is because this simulator is over 20,000 dollars. If you don't fucking suck at driving you won't crash. You can get very safe cars for that kind of money and the experience will be much better.
That car has a lot of costs.. compared to simracing EVERY damn day.. which doesn't cost all that much once you have it.. Doesn't need new brakepads or tires, insurance renting a track, etc etc, think man...
imagine if this WASN"T connected to that thing at the bottom, it had no monitor obviously, and it was an actual 4 legged thing that you drove around, with the batteries stalled in those legs, capable of speeds up to 70mph, stopping in almost an instant.
For the cost of that setup, you could buy a used truck, used trailer, and an mx5 or s2000 ready for the track. Sim racing is cool bit why spend 60k on this when you could just race in the real world for similar money. We all know it doesn't cost that much to manufacture that cockpit.
And in 50-70years peoples laugh about you, because they just have a VR headset who "beams" you IN the game and you can feel all and can touch all, because you ARE IN the game ;)
I know but you cud have it for a life time but your car will need new parts and parts cost money and the SIM wood do the same just will last longer if you keep I nice clean and put it away wen you are done or not useing it and try not to brake it because like I sed it will cost money I hope you all have a creat day today

Over $20,000..... I rather just buy upgrades for my car and go to the race track. :[
+n3rdbear The difference is you can crash this one over and over again without having the pay the $20,000 again every time. ;)
+n3rdbear You can pay 20,000 to feel like driving a bugatti
I'm halfway there ya noob. 10,000 more to go and I'll be using it to upgrade my car with titanium rods, dual turbo (one small/one large for no lag), coilovers, lightweight flywheel, and all sorts of upgrades.
+n3rdbear So what is such a turbo setup called?
n3rdbear dual turbo?? If you knew anything about cars you would know that 99% of the time it's called twin, and what flywheel you getting??
Now imagine if you'd get glitched in the game im pretty sure you'd never wanna sit on that chair again 😂
What happens if the car flips over? ;)
Vendetta042 I was just about to comment the as same thing, it's a good question :P

I wonder how much power will this require...I can see a large electricity bill at the end of the month...
Nuno Nunes All the sim (incl. computer and displays) eats about 1-1,4kW in motion. It's not so terrible.
Really? I thought it would be much more, cool :)

Nuno Nunes he nevet wrote "per hour" he just said 1-1.4kW.. maybe its per minute...
LOL good point :\
When someone makes this for under 10K, i'm IN!
check out the DOF reality motion sims. They range from 1.5-5k.

this would be the sickest flight sim cockpit. wow!

Most people run a wide screen monitor because it eliminates the edges and it’s 1 long picture
Yeah why do they keep the bezels for 20k
Problem is with this is that the whole world moves when the screens move. Vr with this would be way better.
He could have just brought an whole real car for that much money
when you crash in the game, the chair shoots you towards the 3 monitors so you do a face plant into them. I love technology :D
Scrap the heavy monitors, use the Oculus rift dk2.
That's brilliant!!

I want to see this with HTC VIVE
Imast Madafaca YES that would be perfect! If i could afford it......
Get a Pimax 4k vr headset. Its upscale 4k but still sharper HD image. Much cheaper than Vive and its perfect for racing game
It pairs with the vive
this setup will be even better with a VR :D
I know I can't afford it but how much do it cost?
DrocDoc as much or more than the already existing VirtualGT, anywhere from 15,000 to 150,000 US Dollar. They do not have or show prices on their website.
wow thats cheap if your talking 30$ or you might be saying 30K
imagine playing this with some sort of vr headset(like morpheus/oculus) man, it would be so epic!
For $25,000 you can buy a real car and get the real experience
not a racing car though
You can't even buy a brand new MX-5 for that price, let alone track time, gas and tires... So no, no you cannot.
For one race before you flip it into a wall and pay $250,000 on medical bills alone.
This would be amazing in VR
you could just drive a car

it seemed to pivot more than the screen would show in terms of hill gradient or indeed corners.

IMO it seems to be very accurate in the Physics aspect, However, it appears that the Sim does a nosedive when braking. Like a little too much.
Ahh, Dirt 2, my far my favorite racing game!
This would be a good idea for an arcade.
Every Universal Attraction Ever
It's amazing that some people think this has anything to do with racing is hilarious :-)
I would Flight Sim on this all day, every day.
A fun super expensive, impractical way to practice for your driving test lol
I think with VR that's amazing
Holy shit, I MUST have one.
Imagine having a setup like this with a flight simulator or a game like ace combat or even star wars
That is more what it should be used for than a racing simulator
Now just add a VR head-set with a set of good headphones and its the real thing.
