To clarify, the fact that Jack *does not* *clearly* and with *no room for miscommunication* break up with his fiance before beginning his relationship with Ali is wrong and disgusting. Do not let a man treat you like he treats either of these girls, darlin'. You are worth more than that.
Plus his girlfriend seemed so sweet and it seemed like they got that house together and he treated her like absolute trash just because she was getting her life together somewhere else. Like, wasn't she going to school or an internship or something?
Tbh idk if you ever watched or heard of jersey shore but I swear his character was inspired by ronnie. Ronnie is the poster child of fboys around the world to sum it up
@@joseph2ne fair enough but I swear I see this senario play out way too much in real life and it's kinda disappointing. And it definitely shows in a weird way how much irl women are pitted against eachother over a man and play sneaky games over a dude thats not worth it. And it's always a scum bag type of guy.
Sadly, people forgot what a great actress Cher really was--she was such a big deal in 80's Hollywood! And she's really amazing here too, making the most, if not more, than what she's been given to work with. Cher's climactic solo is a true show stopper, but I wish the entire movie was so good! It's a corny, contrived mess full of stereotypes and fluff...
@@necromanticorn you know, in hindsight I don't think that Cher ever made any really BAD TERRIBLE movies for the most part. Burlesque was one of the worst in her lineup, but that says a lot because even it was extremely watchable despite its issues. I have wondered at times what her career may have looked like if she had not returned to music and continued her path as an actress instead. Between winning Oscar for Moonstruck and Mermaids she turned down some really successful movies like Thelma and Louise and many others. Too many years had passed until Mermaids came along and Cher had been disregarded as a real actress by many by then unfortunately which only led to other less successful films to follow. I wonder if she could have remained as relevant as she is today if she had just focused on acting alone...she is truly one of the best actresses of her time. I guess we'll never know...
How did Veronica Mars not get fired from her job? How was the club still in a financial crisis when Christina Aguilera was bringing in the crowd every single night?
Think about being months and months behind on bills. On successful month isn’t gonna cut it. And they talk about how Nikki (Kristen Bell) basically helped start the club and her and and Tess went back a long time.
Stanley Tucci *IS* the best part of that movie (and any movie he's in!) Also: I LOVE the chemistry between the two of you. You play off each other so well, should definitely do more content together.
I used to put this movie on as backgrounds noise when I cleaned. The storyline was atrocious but I come back for Christina's voice and the dance numbers. IDC I still love this movie LOL
SN: as recently as 2012, you could definitely just walk in a restaurant and talk to a manager and with their permission, just start working...and keep the tips. Did it many times. Turnover is so high and servers quit on the spot so often that they’ll get to the paperwork later if they need you to start ASAP.
This is one of those movies that you put on when your cleaning because you can just listen to it without actually watching it. Just vacuum during the talking lol
Many of the songs are very catchy. However, that's probably the nicest thing you can honestly say about this movie. I still think it's kind of fun, in a junk food kinda way.
Love this collab but i havent seen this said in the comments section! Burlesque is the "art of tease," and can be anything. Any song, any vibe, any anything. It can even be comedy based. I've worked cocktail waitressing in burlesque shows and even sung in burlesque shows. The critique of a song "matching the vintage vibe" of the venue is very off the mark, considering that what makes burlesque BEAUTIFUL is the variety!! Burlesque is meant to be all genres, ages, colors, and sizes and I believe thats where the real critique of this movie needs to come in to play. TOO MUCH of it is the same thing and same performer over and over and over.
Or you’re being emotional because you have some love for burlesque. There doesn’t need to be any “real” movie critics. You simply don’t have to watch 🙄. Get off your high horse.
the collab of you two together in this has made my entire week. I cant think of a single time i laughed as much during a youtube video, as i did this one. Absolutely CAN NOT wait for you two to come together again!

SAME it's so bad it's good. watching this movie feels like eating a brownie, you miss it after it's gone, but then you realize that it's probably not a good idea or in your best interest to go back for seconds.
You know what’s wild, when I watched this as a kid I felt like I couldn’t remember anything from the movie and that it felt like a bunch of musical numbers hastily glued together with narrative in between. So it felt like a fever dream of colorful dances…. And as an adult I’m finding out that’s EXACTLY what it was so I’m not crazy and 12 year old me was a better movie critic than whoever okayed this movie 😗
"Maid in Manhattan" next??? Or "The Devil Wears Prada" (Incidentally, both of those movies also have Stanley Tucci in them. Do I sense a theme coming on...??)

Omg! I didn't know that was on purpose and I died twice!!!🤣
This is a fictional story in fairness
Tbh idk if you ever watched or heard of jersey shore but I swear his character was inspired by ronnie. Ronnie is the poster child of fboys around the world to sum it up
@@joseph2ne fair enough but I swear I see this senario play out way too much in real life and it's kinda disappointing. And it definitely shows in a weird way how much irl women are pitted against eachother over a man and play sneaky games over a dude thats not worth it. And it's always a scum bag type of guy.
his girlfriend was not faithful to him and he and his girl broke up on the phone before he and Allie kissed
Best line in the movie was by Stanley Tucci: “Every opportunity has a shelf life.”
If Stanley Tucci is in this, I'm watching it. Tucci gang! Oh my god, AND Alan Cummings?! How did they make a bad movie? That's actually impressive
@@MissDraiha they didn't make a bad movie, my daughter in law and I both love this one
He is one of my favorite actors
Lol I don't know, the " I will not be replaced by a slut with mutant lungs!" Was pretty good.
@@theph0enix24 I didn't even notice the 'slut' part because the 'mutant lungs' part was spectacular.
Actually, she was awesome in movies. I much prefer her as an actress rather than as a singer. Moonstruck!!!
Also, that guy who was “Josh Brolin’s dad” ….lol!
Moonstruck, Mermaids, and Mask are my fav Cher films!
I guess we'll never know...
not me expecting your "special guest" to just be a green screened second jaime
SAME!!😂😂😂
How did Veronica Mars not get fired from her job? How was the club still in a financial crisis when Christina Aguilera was bringing in the crowd every single night?
Apparently it wasn't enough according to Tess's ex-husband.
Think about being months and months behind on bills. On successful month isn’t gonna cut it. And they talk about how Nikki (Kristen Bell) basically helped start the club and her and and Tess went back a long time.
@@DankrumStar but even the first time Christina goes into the club it's completely packed..
Please for the love of god do Aquamarine with Jojo, Emma Roberts, and Sara Paxton!
Yassssssss
Yes, please!💕
YESSS
Omg yess! Lmao we laughed so hard during this movie, me and my sister annually watch it for a good laugh.
I love that movie so much 😂😅
Stanley Tucci *IS* the best part of that movie (and any movie he's in!) Also: I LOVE the chemistry between the two of you. You play off each other so well, should definitely do more content together.
Stanley is usually the best part of every movie he is in. He is really awesome to watch.
I used to put this movie on as backgrounds noise when I cleaned. The storyline was atrocious but I come back for Christina's voice and the dance numbers. IDC I still love this movie LOL
Same
I just love it!
Yup

The fact that their names are Jack and Allie and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are also Jack and Ally in A Star is Born... 🤯
@@veaperl8795 The main characters are Noah and Allie in the Notebook
And Barbara Streisands husband is in this. It may be a hot take on a star is born without saying it
SN: as recently as 2012, you could definitely just walk in a restaurant and talk to a manager and with their permission, just start working...and keep the tips.
Did it many times. Turnover is so high and servers quit on the spot so often that they’ll get to the paperwork later if they need you to start ASAP.
The dynamic with you and Trish must be further explored I would LOVE a full video with just your alter egos and your writing 😩 ❤❤
For the record, it’s a pandemic still and a good few of us don’t know what day it is. Every day can be Makeup and Movies Day.
This is one of those movies that you put on when your cleaning because you can just listen to it without actually watching it. Just vacuum during the talking lol
Not me I always watch it and sing along lol.
Ingenious
I loved this movie, just cuz of Cher and Christina and the singing! Still listen to some of these songs.
Many of the songs are very catchy. However, that's probably the nicest thing you can honestly say about this movie.
I still think it's kind of fun, in a junk food kinda way.
Last of me is one of my go-to karaoke songs! It's so good!
Same. My mom and I love it. Lol
30:43 You missed the perfect opportunity to use Zoolander's "what is this? A center for ants?!" clip.
the collab of you two together in this has made my entire week. I cant think of a single time i laughed as much during a youtube video, as i did this one. Absolutely CAN NOT wait for you two to come together again!
Same. Love these two together. Both queens!
Markus is literally McSteamy from Greys Anatomy ... they didn't even change his name lol
I always get excited when you talk about the main characters always falling down, cause I’m clumsy as shit, so maybe that means I’m secretly a protagonist and not an extra in my own life! ❤️
You are my parents favorite person, every night they are like “omg let’s watch jamie french” and frankly you make spending time with them a lot more fun
Aw that's awesome!
Oh my gosh that is so cute!
i love this 💖
I'm so jelly, but also happy for you and your family! Warms my cold-blooded heart.
"Hey Jack? Who clogged the toilet?" I'm honestly wheezing I'm laughing so hard. I can't with y'all today lmao
You should have seen us trying to write the script for that - we were crying!! 🤣🤣🤣
@@BetterOffRed honestly same lmao! I was ugly crying by the end of it. I died at your little cat paw part bahaha
I feel the same way about this movie. It's so bad but a guilty pleasure.
SAME it's so bad it's good. watching this movie feels like eating a brownie, you miss it after it's gone, but then you realize that it's probably not a good idea or in your best interest to go back for seconds.
So true!
I’m in tears at every scene yall edit yourselves in, how am I JUST discovering this channel 😭😭
I need that "waitress quitting her job" jingle as merch
Anyone else love the fact that we never know when this series is coming because it makes it that much more okayer of a time?
Jamie is next level, even her sponsorship segment rocks.
Tammy's audition to Wagon Wheel Watoosie has SLAIN ME 🤣🤣🤣
Tammy's Burlesque Upgrade with the bangs and the glittery jacket took me OUT. 😹
Christina belted one note and I had cold chills allll over. She’s a dream.
Right?? Like Jaime, I get emotional and tear up. Her voice is just unreal.
Her voice is so beautiful! Gives me goosebumps everytime
Not gonna lie, that was the first Audible ad I actually watched.
Same
Same x 2
This.
You’re like the only UA-cam channel that I’m okay with the ads cause of how you don’t just bombard us suddenly.
Imagine if Teri from raise your voice tried to do that vocal run with her 3 different vocalists.
"Maid in Manhattan" next???
Or "The Devil Wears Prada"
(Incidentally, both of those movies also have Stanley Tucci in them. Do I sense a theme coming on...??)
STANLEY. TUCCI. SERIES. PLEASEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Since I seen Julienne Hough in the credits and we are talking about bad musicals, Please do Rock of Ages next!! You wont be dissappointed
omg yes lol
Ugh! 😖 That Tom Cruise scene.
YES
I love that movie! I read a review that made fun of the whole thing and loved that, too! It's like it knows it's bad and doesn't care. I'd love to hear Jaime's take.
💯💯💯💯💯
Cher is an incredible actress (Mask, Moonstruck, etc)... I felt like this movie was beneath her 🙄 but also her campy persona does work in a way
God I'm so dumb, I was sitting there thinking "who did she play in the movie?" Only to realize I was thinking of "The Mask" with Jim Carrey lmao
Mermaids, too. She's great in M movies!
I watched Mermaids last week and thought "hmm Cher isn't a bad actress."
Cher is an amazing actress. This movie just blows.
She's won an Oscar for Best Actress
Moonstruck is one of my favorite movies. She's great in it.
In The Witches of Eastwick she is amazing
Just in case anyone is thinking of partaking in an impromptu "Cher-A-Thon" this weekend, I'd also like to recommend giving "Mask" a watch. It is another fantastic movie, and her, along with Sam Elliott, and Eric Stoltz truly give some amazing performances. Love...love...love it!!!!
*JE: Wow, I forgot all about "Witches of Eastwick", so I'm really glad you mentioned it. For sure tracking down a copy today.
The woman singing “I’ve got a dentist” is actually Megan Mulally from Will and Grace. She recorded the song.
I LOVE Megan Mulally!! One of my favorite actors!!
LOL Jamie as Cher's makeup client is killing me
*beautiful!*
Ok, I loved this movie because I saw it with my best friend where we were literally the only two people in the theater, so we could make commentary the whole time. It's actually very entertaining if you skip all of those pieces that involve the plot and just watch the dancing/singing/costumes.
I was drinking when Jaime sang “do you wanna let me work here” I about died. 🤣🤣🤣
I know! That was my favorite joke of the video for sure 🤣🤣
Saaaame! 🤣🤣
“Do you wanna let me work heeeere.” 🎶🤣 that was hilarious.
I laughed so hard. 🤣
😂😂😂
Alan Cumming was also in a gem titled Josie and the Pussycats, and that movie is SO MUCH FUN.
I WISH!!!!! Jamie would review josie and the pussycats!!! Legendary movie
...and let us not forget Spice World.
@@AstraeaAntiope yesss I’m holding out for this one😂😂
The two of you need to do this again. It's awesome to watch!
"Since when is Ali short for Alice, that's only two syllables!" I need that on a shirt since my nickname is Alli and it is short for Allison.
Omg yes, first thing I thought was her name should be ALLISON! Not Alice 🙄
"Also, did she fill out her w4 form" 😂
I don’t know why but “Makeup and Movies” has become the thing I watch when I put away laundry and it makes it so much more fun. Thank you for making laundry something I look forward to ❤️
I watch her while doing homework! She's the best
I was watching it while I was doing laundry too!
I also watch while doing laundry lol
Honestly, the Chers makeup client part might be the funniest thing I've ever seen you do, and you do a lot of funny stuff. Keep it up!
The editing in this is just *chefs kiss*
This movie did suck...royally. I do love Alan Cummings, though. He's fantastic 🤣 AND don't get me started on the Magnificent Stanley Tucci 🌟sigh🌟
I still love it though LOL, it's a guilty pleasure.
I love Alan Cummings in everything he does, bisexual icon !
“All the conflicts were resolved within the last 30 seconds” sounds like high school musical 😂 “we won!” “So did we!” 🤦🏻♀️
🎵 TrooooOooooyyyy🎵
When you see Kristen Bell and realize AGAIN that she still hasn't aged.
