THANK YOU!! Over 50 years ago went to Polish Social Club in North Tonawanda and one of the guys pulled something like this out. Called it a BoomBah. He had a red rubber devil's head on top with light bulbs for the eyes on a mercury switch so as you banged it up and down the eyes would flash on and off. What a great time we had!! CHEERS!
Boy, this reminds me of Christmases as a kid, my grandpa, and uncle would get out the boomba stick, my grandma the accordion, and play along to to the polka Christmas songs, "Twinkle Toes" being my favorite. 🎵"Santa spotted Rudolph's nose, but he gets more light from Twinkle Toes."🎵 Good memories.
Glad you enjoyed it. There is a playlist which covers the construction of the Stumpf Fiddle. Please subscribe. That is what keeps this channel running. Ron
Oh it has space for all those percussion blocks you made. Will sound more interesting with 3 to 4 block of different pitches. Its very beautiful what you made :))
Great project a lot of work went into it I see. If I made one for my grandkids I could get even for all the noise My son and daughter made when they were little. LOL nice videos Ron. Thanks, Roland
Worse than a drum set as the kids can take them anywhere. These were sold as pogocello’s for years as musical instruments for children, but probably just as many were bought by adults.
Am I old if I know what a stump fiddle is? I have fond childhood memories of my maternal uncles playing away on these strange looking contraptions at many a wedding. The 1st time hearing that unique melody come from something that looked so primitive was quite an awe inspiring experience!
Sorry, I don't know of anyone selling them. I am just giving you the idea so you can make your own. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe! That is what keeps this channel going. Ron
You can see a video of my playing a very short segment of mine at the following link. It is at the end of the video so forward to 4:30 to see a short snippet of what I do with mine. Not my favorite song but it gives you an idea. facebook.com/video.php?v=10152112971297266&set=vb.164511887265&type=3&theater

Wow that is nice. I love mine. Yours is beautiful.
I use mine in performances in my clown character for fairs festivals etc. Always a crowd pleaser.
I thought it turned out pretty well. Now if I could just find someone who can do a better job of playing it. :-)

Hi there,
We're do I buy one of these?
Sorry, I do not sell these. I'm just showing how you can make your own. Thanks for watching. Ron
I have one I'm willing to sell, but I really don't know how much to sell it for
what do you use to hit the stump fiddle?
Usually people use a drum stick. I did not have a drum stick so I used a 1/2" wood dowel.
thanks
Do you sell these?
Sorry, I do not sell these. I'm just showing you how I built mine.
