I love using tcg player to look at numbers for cards and product and trying to find the best deal for singles n packs and get a gauge on what things are actually selling for

Ou, I was just curious about this. I've been buying off of TCG Player for a good year now, but I haven't sold on it, and was thinking about it. But if it's not even an option, then so be it! Lol... It's too bad, because we could have done well on there because the same cards are usually listed for higher prices when you swap the country to Canada like we have to. But if you swap it back over to US, bam, 5x the listings, and the cheapest near mint is available for a good 20-50% cheaper than the cheapest one available to us Canadians. It's kind of a bummer.

Hey Danny! Awesome content, as always. What's a good way to monitor what modern "bulk" cards to keep out of the bulk pile. I.E. how did you come up with that list in the video? Is it mainly just manually keeping tabs on sales data for each card over time? Or is there a way to parse the setlists on tcgplayer to filter ones that are over X value? Thanks!
It only takes some time
To research it all. Basically searching tcgplayer for only commons/uncommons and rares and then filtering to best selling and then manually checking the most recent sets you want to sort. It takes about 20 minutes to get the search feature set up with all the filters and then you should be good
Found the V union box at a GameStop near me, but for me $30 seems steep for just 4 packs. I like collecting and I’ll probably just get the mew two promo sold as a singles
I’m right there with you. But I can’t imagine you will find the Mewtwo promos for less than $15. So $30 really isn’t a reach for the box as a whole.

I think one of the things you missed and could have talked about was the deception of shipping affecting lowest listing prices. For those like myself who are level 4 sellers we have the option to offer free shipping where as those who aren't have to charge 1 dollar. However, tcg player doesn't register lowest sold listing prices with shipping making it seem cheaper that it actually is. Once you click and view the card you want and organize it from lowest to highest you'll see a bunch of options for cards with free shipping over $5 which will show as a lot higher prices that what the lowest cost listed prices are showing with the $1+ Shipping cost. Makes it a confusing pain in the but to manage as a seller not knowing what the true market value of the card is. Personally I just like to look at the last couple of last sold prices like you showed, to determine what the actual market value is as you'd be surprised at how much more you can get for selling the card once you see shipping is factored in.
Thanks. I do hope to record a more in depth video in the future going over the finer details of using the site as a selling resource. Right now I wanted to cater more to people just establishing an account and getting their “feet wet” without going too far and overloading info.
I remember when I first started I was frustrated trying to change shipping options until I realized that being a level 4 seller was really the only way I could do what I wanted.

I'm in Canada so I can't sell on TCG player but I love looking at what stuff sells for and I just use eBay it also means I can't have a seller account
as a canadian buyer, it is also frustrating to use/convert every time for tcg player. I normally end up going to ebay :'(

Interesting... why do you think the most recent sets are so under represented on this list? Out of the last 5 or 6? sets released, there is 1 card.
Did you use mass price on TCG player? Now that I have access to it idk if I like it. I can't go in and manually check prices now because I went from 100 listings to 700.
I don't trust sites that don't actually show me that card. I know people from my Pokémon group on FB who've ordered off TCG and toad the cards they got that were near mint were an absolute joke

Hey Danny, what do you think about the evolving skies single market? I’m really hoping that the top two chase cards will go down in price, but I’m also worried that won’t actually happen bc they’re so rare. (Umbreon Vmax Alt Art/ Rayquaza Vmax alt art). Should I just be patient or do you think this pretty much as low as they’ll be
I will say that if I were collecting a master set, I would personally wait to buy some of the pricier singles assuming they will go down in price when more product enters the market. Vivid voltage is a very good example of how prices can fall when more product finally becomes available to open.

i tried to use TCG player and it was so confusing on how to list a card and manage my listing its completely unusable. I have been selling on ebay for years and have my BA in grahic arts so Im no idiot with computers but there website is horribly designed. I couldnt figure out how to remove my listing, look at it, manage it in any way it was so confusing i went back to ebay. I have 2 cards listed on tcg player and i barely know how i even did that and if someone buys those cards i will have no idea how to process that order. they need to fix there shit or create a how to walk threw video on listing, selling and managing cards. so frustrating.
It’s pretty interesting to see how many non-“rare” cards are worth more than standard bulk price. Also the whole TCGP stats are really interesting and insightful too. Thanks again!
Couple of things is. You could link your PayPal business account to your eBay and if it has tracking PayPal would always side with the seller. They have also been doing much better at siding with the seller as of late as well. I have never had a problem with eBay as long as I had proof but I have heard a lot of complaints. Could be because I am in canada and maybe they have a different department here?
Do you have any experience with TCG Player Direct and how it works?
I never really understood how shipping costs work on tcg.. They recommend tracking but tracking costs $3+ for claim protection. So if you don’t ship with tracking you could end up just losing your cards...
Ultimately you could, but rarely did I have any issues sending in a plain white envelope.
I also rarely have issues sending in a pwe, but the problem I’m running into is having $0.99 shipping to entice buyers, but they only charge shipping once, so a 25 card $75 order was shipped for $0.99. That was a bummer because the other $3 for shipping came out of pocket

@@dustincooper3881 I assume the only way to raise your level is to have people buy from you? That's going to be tough lol.
Once you get through the levels (which doesn’t take much) you get unlimited listings. But the market info is really more of the benefit. I use tcplayer every day even though I haven’t listed anything for over a year.
@@DannyPhantump so I should just keep pushing? To help get my numbers up so I can increase my level, do you have any tips on what kind of cards I should be listing to sell faster? Comp cards? Stuff at a discount?

You didn’t buy from tcgplayer. You bought from a store that sells on tcgplayer
