- The development of the notebook was started in 1986 by Gunpei Yokoi and the Japanese Nintendo R & D1 team. The goal was to combine the characteristics of Famicom games with the portability of Game & Watch, also produced by Yokoi. The first prototype of the console was presented to Nintendo's board in 1987, surprising businessmen. The company's president speculated 25 million units sold in three years, but the amount was 32 million. It was launched in 1989 and had its first aesthetic and technological change after eight years.
The project was announced and shown at the 1987 E3 fair, because Nintendo wanted to enter the notebook market. With the great success of the NES, the company tried, once again, to be successful with this console. In 1988, everything was ready, and it started to be sold in April 1989.
The device had to be a really portable game console (it could fit in the pocket of any shirt or pants), simple (the main processor was only 4.19 Mhz and its display was black and white), efficient (the batteries lasted until 20 uninterrupted hours), cheap (launched for something equivalent to 100 dollars) and that would bring to the players, wherever they were, the fun that until then could only be experienced in the comfort of their homes or in game rooms.
The Game Boy was launched in April 1989 with a monochrome liquid crystal display with green background, black and white games, 8-bit graphics and with the possibility of being played by more than one person, using the Game Link Cable. It already came from the factory with the Tetris game and its production lasted between 1989 and 1995.

No, they don't have a region lock. All Gameboy and Gameboy color games are region free.

Ola, tenho 14 anos e tenho um ds, mas eu gostaria muito de ter um game boy clássico hahah, pensando seriamente em trocar meu ds por um game boy clássico, quero apenas diversão, os jogos de ds eu nao gostei muito, só estou jogando o new super Mario Bros e o Yoshi island ds e pensei em pegar um game boy advance sp, mas esse game boy clássico me atrai muito, eu sou tão doido que eu quero trocar meu ds por um gameboy clássico, eu adoro essa tela verde dele, eu adoro tambem o design tijolão dele, só tenho receio dos jogos, pois eu vi gameplays dos jogos e eu sinceramente achei muito divertido, eu só quero no caso me divertir sem passar raiva, por exemplo, jogar um pokemon, um zelda e o f1 race, o obviamente o super mario land, e tambem pacman que eu adoroooo, acha que vale a pena comprar esse gameboy clássico? Pois eu sinto que tenho mais simpatia por ele do que pelo advance😅
São jogos bem mais simples, mas divertidos. Sem duvida um DS é muito mais avançado, da uma olha no video ele ensina a colocar jogos de game boy clássico no DS, 3ds etc. até porque um game boy clássico esta bem caro hoje em dia.

@@Cetale_Unboxing_Brasil é que eu gostaria muito de ter a sensação de jogar em um gameboy hahah, eu vi um restaurado na shopee por 610 reais, mas é restaurado, e é a tela verde original que ele tem, não é tela ips, acha um preço bom 610 reais? E eu não gosto muito de emulação, sou meio fresco, prefiro mais ter a opção e tenho consciência que o os jogos de gameboy são mais simples, e é bom que eu não passo raiva jogando esses maridos de hoje como New super Mario Bros e etc, e também não passo raiva com o super Mario world e o super Mario Bros 3 que tem no GBA, só terei o Mário Land 1 e 2 para passar um pouco de raiva🤣🤣🤣, o resto vai ser o Zelda, o Pac-Man, o f1 Race e os pokémon (vulgo pokemão) assim eu não fico passando raiva tentando passar a primeira fase do Mario Bros 3 kakakakak, mas pretendo comprar o classic ou o color, fico em dúvida pois o color tem o Mário Bros deluxe que eu adorooo, o top gear pocket, o shantae e Alladin, então eu não sei se vou de classic ou color, mas acho que vou de color até porque está mais barato hahah, mas eu vou pensar ainda nisso
