    You ought to review the Mossberg MC2sc. I think you’d love it. I have the MC2c, and boy are they underrated bc of the “shotgun company” stigma. They’re rock solid.

    My only problems with my MC9 after 1000 rounds is the thin magwell and the 20 rounders.
    I don't know why, but the 20 rounders will not lock back or function properly.
    Spring? Weight?
    18 rounders and under not a single malfunction.
    I understand the other reported problems with the MC9 but I got mine pretty late into it and don't have them.

    Anyone still looking, I was ALMOST about to buy a Canik Mete MC9, had my sights set on it and everything. I even own a Canik SFX Rival and love it zero issues, so why not the Mete MC9 too for an Edc? Well I found 1 video talking about how the Mete MC9 around 300-500 rounds goes out of battery. Upon further investigation on Reddit and other UA-cam videos searching this problem, it seems to be a common problem, at least common enough to prevent me buying right now. This along with the fact there are currently no aftermarket stainless steel guide rods available for the Canik mete MC9 had me cautious and instead leaning towards another micro compact, like a Springfield hellcat or hellcat pro, even if snappy, choosing Springfield over Canik due to simply being more reliable in this regard. Time will tell, but thought someone should know if they are considering the mete MC9. I'd hate to have to always wonder when the gun was going to go out of battery and replace the guide rod every 300-500 rounds, not something I'd bet my life on! I see a lot of people saying instead of the mete MC9, go for the slightly bigger brother Canik TP9 Elite SC as that is pretty much everything improved (even though no longer micro compact) of the mete MC9. This video confirms that for me and if everytning youre saying im this video runs true i am leabing to the TP9 Epite SC for sure, i used to run a Taurus g3c and dont think I'd mind the size difference. The Tp9 elite SC also has great aftermarket options which i absolutely love!
    It's a shame, because I feel the mete MC9 trigger is great and it shoots well, and isn't as snappy as other micro compacts, but, the mag release doesn't always work well in my opinion, the magwell is too bendy for me and not solid. You can squeeze the grip on the sides of the MC9 which makes the mag harder to drop out after, personally I don't like anything flimsy or feeling like a toy on my firearms.
    If anyone has nothing but positive reviews and shot 500+ rounds flawlessly please let me know, maybe this out of battery issue is only for a small percentage, but still, I love Canik and think this should never have been such an issue for a lot of buyers!
    Conclusion: I want to buy a canik mete mc9, but have trust issies from numerous reviews about it going out of battery. I have a Taurus gx4 and love it, but the mag release button is TOO sensitive and drops when I barely press it. My next purchase to find my "perfect conceal carry" will probably be springfield hellcat, hellcat pro, or canik tp9 elite sc... Thoughts?

      @@DamnManSam it had cycling issues that have gotten better over time. My mag still won’t come out unless I pull on it. I’m not the biggest fan of the reflex either after using it a lot. @DamnManSam 3 місяці тому

      @@kevinchristie4847 I carry a 19x regularly. The MC9 I started carrying when I need something more easily concealed.
      So far mine hasn’t had any issues, went to the range and ran 100 more rounds through it. No cycling issues. The mag does stick to the frame, so I am thinking that might be a design perk as they haven’t been able to fix it. But since it is a CCW I don’t quite care much about that. I usually do pull mags out of my Glocks as well as the polymer mags sometimes don’t fall out as fast as I would want them too.
      Cycling was my biggest concern, but it seems that Canik figured the issue with the ramp. Nice choice with the Staccato.

    As usual another great video. I totally agree with you about reset. You don't need a super short reset on a carry/self-defense gun. The FN Reflex has a perfect reset for that purpose. People like the Canik MC9 for 2 reasons, the short reset, and their cheap price. What is a $100 more to pay for the superior quality of the FN Reflex, when you spend thousands of dollars on ammo, training with the gun. Long term the $100 is irrelevant. Give me the superior quality, and reliability of the FN Reflex any day!

    Great thing about that FN Reflex you can use it as a cheese grater or a file to file the heels of your feet. Damn that texture is rough 🤣 FYI the finish isn't the best on the FN.The Cerakote finish or whatever they're using on mine is already wearing off

  • @deanestanton2480
    @deanestanton2480 5 місяців тому

    My MC9 right off the bat has been having malfunctions. It hasn’t fed ball ammo on occasion. The most worrisome issue it has had is a failure to fire with a round in the chamber. I was able to reset the striker and it did fire the same round after that. I don’t trust it now. I cleaned it and lubed it up lightly but it still has issues. I’m never going to carry it now especially when my Hellcat has functioned flawlessly from day one. I really like the Canik but will be getting rid of it after a disappointing performance.

  • @dirtydirt2416
    @dirtydirt2416 8 місяців тому +1

    Issues with an edc firearm under 1k rounds noted by multiple people is too unreliable for me. That’s why I can’t go with the Canik. I’m seeing a lot of good things on the Reflex, but several people are saying they are having issues with it shooting low left. I would consider this to be a site issue which can be fixed rather easily with a red dot, or possibly new irons. I might wait until “gen 2” of each gun. This will give them time to fix the issues. I know Sig had issues with the 365 when it came out, and made the changes. Great video

    • @Strikerfm1
      @Strikerfm1 7 місяців тому

      People shoot low left because they suck at shooting. Also, FN that’s the sight in at 15 to 25 yards depending on the model. Since most people can barely shoot at 7 yards, no wonder their aim is low. That’s too close for the distance the sight was actually calibrated at.

    • @dirtydirt2416
      @dirtydirt2416 7 місяців тому

      @@Strikerfm1 there are a lot of videos of the reflex being shot by multiple people in the video, and the pistol being clamped down to a stationary structure. But as I stated in the comments on those videos I believe it to be an issue with the irons. Generally when a new firearm comes out it’s better to wait abit for them to factory fix the issues (for the average user)

    Not a huge fan of FN but the reflex is a nice design. I also noticed the lack of finish on the slide. A huge downside for me on it was that because it's got the hammer, you have to rack it ALL the way back for it to engage. In a high stress situation that could be catastrophic. In my opinion it's just another P365. The Canik in my opinion is the BEST micro 9....if it was reliable.
