*UPDATE:* Alright guys since making this video I've reviewed both the Sony MDR-1000x and Bose QC35, both main competitors to the PXC 550. Click the links below to watch: Sony MDR-1000x: ua-cam.com/video/3DlfrtAsmKw/v-deo.html Bose QC35: ua-cam.com/video/1_tv6Dyu9sw/v-deo.html Make sure to THUMBS UP this comment so others can see!
Excellent video. I just got lucky and bought a pair on CL "new" open box the guy didn't like their looks and didn't use them. $180. Totally lucked out. Now, these were an early Christmas gift for me and as I type my wife is using them next to me in bed. Now who were these for again?😁 That's a compliment when the wife steals your HARD research and your Christmas gift. Lol. Again, great video and keep up the no B.S. reviews
I bought this a few days ago and I’m so impressed by the quality and comfort (took a 12:30 hours flight and not even got tired of use them). I’ve tried the Bose before buying, they are so good too but I’ve owned other Sennheisers before and decided for the PXC 550. Your video was fantastic, keep on that road!
Just bought these, kinda by accident... 1. Anc is good but Bose is better 2. The included cables are not 3,5 stereo but 2,5 and they are crap and don't have any lock. 3. They on/off switch is bullshit, you can fold the headphones only one way 4. They sound great on BT but crap on cable 5. They stutter sometimes still didn't find out why 6. The cap app is good 7. The gestures are good and easy to learn 8. Phone quality is good 9. No usb charger just a usb micro cable --no usb-c 10. Sound quality is very good 11. Passive isolation is good 12. They have a feature vehen you double tap them that they not just stop the audio but also make project the sounds from outside so you don't have to take them off and can hear clearly any conversation. 12. The anc is off for phone call 13. When you plug the audio cable bt turns off
Aluzcz they probably sound crap on cable because they have an impedance level of 490ohms. So you are going to need a hefty amp to fully power those puppies wired.
Nice review, I have been contemplating between the QC35, PXC 550 and WH1000xm2 and having watched several reveiw videos I think you have just solded me on the PXCs. Good Job!
Hey great review, i bought this a couple of days ago and i can agree they are IMO better than QC35 (which my dad uses and could not stand the ear pressure sensation from Bose ANC, 550´s adjustable ANC is awsome) You missed 1 importan feature that is also unique to this beauty, Built in DAC that allows you to plug them to your pc with the USB cable and charge them while listening to them, can control media vollume only though, Great work!
Awesome! Yeah the Bose ANC is effective but also quite annoying. I love being able to turn off the ANC completely in the 550, it's too bad the QC35 can't do the same...
I was undecided between the QC35's and the PXC 550's. After your review I bought the PXC 550's fantastic headphones. Those few added extras made the decision easier.
Absolutely loved your review. From your stable voice, excellent playback, to clear and vivd descriptions, this video made me want to unsubscribe to other great reviewers. The only thing I would wish for future videos is a table of pros and cons when you summarize the product. Aweseme job man.
Fantastic review - very comprehensive and informative! One thing I might ask in future reviews is turn down the aperture on the camera a bit - the fuzziness makes for some great static shots, but when you're using autofocus it occasionally causes the entire shot to go out of focus and having it in every shot kinda gave me some eye strain. Fantastic work and I look forward to seeing some of your other reviews in the future!
You can also double tap when some one wants to talk to you. It will pause what ever you are listening to, and use the mics to boost the speakers voice so you can hear them clearly with out having to take the headphones off
My biggest question is ambient sound levels emitted from the headphones to people nearby. How is the that sound level. Generally overlooked in reviews. I don't like disturbing others around me with my music.
Well I purchased anyways. Amazing pair of headphones. The sound heard by others at max volume is Barley noticeable. I have only one complaint. The volume levels are just a tad low at max.
I've had mine for a month and a half and I've used them in the car with my mom and stepdad and I've even been in the passenger seat next to my mom and stepdad and they haven't once asked me to turn them down and usually all the other times I use other headphones they have to tell me turn them down every 5 minutes so yeah they dont emit a lot of noise
Thanks Edwin!! Yeah, the Bose QC line's noise-canceling puts this pressure that can get annoying sometimes. But it's definitely the most effective and powerful.
I had the Bose QC35ii and had to return them because I could NOT take the pressure they caused in my ears-through my sinus and eyes. So glad, as I now own these and they sound so much better and I love the swipe features and lets not forget the 4.2 Bluetooth!
I love mine in "club mode" too. The noise cancelling is probably that of the QC35 minus 10% however. But WELL within the range of adequate for most noisey situations. The sound, using the app, is superior to the Bose. Out of the box, the Bose is a better experience. However, using a bit of tinkering the PXC 550s are superior. Why did I purchase the PXC 550s over the QC 35 IIs? Answer: Touch inputs and call quality. Series II of the Bose are now better than before, and they are still the most comfortable headphones in any category, anywhere, but I also needed the best call-though sound for my work. So, combining Sennheiser's superior call quality and better sound (with tinkering), and very adequate sound cancellation, I pulled the trigger. I bought them for $305, much less than I had seen them elsewhere.
I have had them for a week and they are great. I have not had to charge them yet and I wore them for 6 hours straight on a flight from LA to NY . Great sound quality and the noise cancel is great, works good on plane. Only thing was to be careful where you touch on the right as it will make a adjustment.
Excellent review! I've been enjoying my Momentum Wireless 2.0's which I have owned for the past 6 months at least - but I'm also feeling compelled in picking these up too. It's definitely happening! :)
I got them 2 months ago. I have to say I really love them. It is good if you tweak them a bit, but when you do that... I got to say I use them few hours per day for gaming music movies... everything. Super ccomfortable and worth the price...
Weast 11 Holy crap! That’s fantastic! Do you have any experience with the Sony h.ear on 2? I’m asking because my choices are either this or the Sony. From what I know, the Sony isn’t compatible for gaming, but has better sound quality from reviews I’ve read. But if you have any personal experience, I’d greatly appreciate your input.
Just returned from longhaul EU-US. The headset fits tight on your head which you have to get used to (I have the HDR180 at home). It is uncomfortable to lower the headset around your neck when you need to take it of when boarding or whatsover. The noicereduction is great. You can still hear some background noice, so you are not completely isolated. You do hear some engine noice but not disturbing. You can hear some conversations clearly. Some will prefer this actually. The doubletap function to hear the surroundings directly is a bit difficult to use when in flight. It does not make it easier to hear the stewardess. The enginnoise is too loud through the microphone. The sound quality is great when watching in flight entertainment. The app for setting the soundquality is a must-have though when listening to music or when you want to hear the bass a bit more intense. But overall, it is a keeper!
Update. I've had my PCX550's for a couple of weeks and i'm really happy with them. I will say the app doesn't seem to enhance levels, but rather adjust others down. EG increasing the mid-range (not that there is anythng wrong with the mids-just an example) seems to rather lower the other ranges. It works but not as expected. Also note streaming music is much louder than what i had stored on my phone.. very strange. (it was a different phone and not an i-phone) It's loud enough though. Other people who have listened to them have been very impressed with the sound quality. Note you will most likely have a massive headache pairing bluetooth headphones to a PC/laptop and from many manufacturers (MANY people having problems - it's not the device but bloody windows.., 8, 10/drivers not there and not found, that are not needed anyway and some settings to be changed and then.....i'm still pissing about but after 5 hours into "Evening time" I plugged in the supplied cable and said sod this (for now) Phone pairs fine and the cans to my phone too. It's a problem with many computers from many manufacturers...not the Bluetoothe device itself but windows. (yes mac people gloat away :-) i play games sometimes and need the things a mac can't do well :-(
Hi there. I'm in Portugal and I think your reviews are awesome. I come from a pair of Parrot Ziks 2 to the Sennheiser PXC 550. Will I experienced a big difference? Keep it up!!
That was an awesome review! I'm really glad I found you today because I'm researching for my new pair of headphones. Now, thanks to you I have no doubts about which ones I'm getting. I'm off to the shop to get me some PXC 550 sound. Cheers again, now I don't have to go through the sales person speal. ☺ 👍 👍 👍
Love your reviews, keep em comin.. I've had a pair of open back HD570's for a long time , could maybe use a little more bass, Love them but thinking wireless would be nice, But i don't really need noise cancellation, my use is 99% home based lossless audio played through my Home Stereo Receiver... So my question to you is...Can you recommend anything for my type of listening in this price range ? Cheers
If you're looking for high-end audio that's wireless, and noise-canceling isn't that important, my vote would go towards the Bowers and Wilkins P7 headphones. 2 runner-ups would be these PXC 550s as well as Sony MDR-1000x (you can watch my review here: ua-cam.com/video/3DlfrtAsmKw/v-deo.html), but those are more well-rounded for noise-canceling amongst other nifty features.
Great video man! Would you recommand this over the Momentum Wireless? Considering build quality and design is slightly superior on the momentum lineup.
Great review, buddy. Your review is clear, honest and covers everything. And i want your opinion as I'm planning to buy a new pair of headphones but can't decide on what headphone to buy. As what matters to me the most is Sound Quality and I kind of don't want my headphone to Leak Sound.... My budget is at 300$. I'm currently eyeing the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless and Sony H.ear MDR100ABN. If there is any better ones I'm open for suggestions, and thanks. :)
TOUGH! You just listed 2 amazing headphones that definitely match toe-to-toe. Personally, I would lean towards the Sonys. Sound quality on those is on par with the MDR-1000x, and although the Momentums sound very good as well, I think the Sonys edge them out overall.
Thanks for replying! :) And is the H.ear MDR100ABN Sound quality that good? That's encouraging as the headphone is on sale right now on Amazon. But with your own opinion, do you think i should go for it? And thanks again! :)
Yes the sound quality is really up there with the Sonys. I just checked Amazon and that is a KILLER deal going on right now. The Momentum 2 wireless is going for twice as much, if not more. Get the Sonys ASAP and don't look back my friend :P
Now that you mention it. The Momentum 2.0 wireless price was like 320$ 2 weeks ago. I wonder why it became as pricey as PXC 550. xD And thanks! I will make my order as soon as i'm sure that no other headphones are on sale this christmas, lol. :)
Thanks for the review. I want to get some final advice before I take the plunge on buying these rather pricey headphones. I've actually had Bose QC 25s for a couple years and I like them - but I want/need to go wireless. However, I'm leaning towards Sennheiser PXC 550 . I'm actually testing the Bose QC 35s now (returnable), with my MacBook Pro (mid 2009). Nice sound, ANC - but I find the range limited. If I leave my computer room, the sound often cuts out. I don’t know if a dongle or transmitter in my laptop USB port would help with range. My secondary use is with my Sony Bravia TV, which doesn't have BT audio capability. Some people suggest that an inexpensive low latency aptX BT transmitter will work (with no audio lag) in the TV's headphone jack or digital out. The QC 35s have A2DP, and I've heard they do have latency/lag problems with BT transmitters. Saleem's review (here) says the Sennheisers may work. www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-PXC-550-Wireless-Cancelling/product-reviews/B01E3XLNA0/ref=dpx_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1 Sony says use RF headphones, but I don't want to buy two sets of headphones: BT for my mac and RF for my TV). I assume that I can't use RF headphones easily with my MacBook Pro. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hey great review! How would you rate the noise cancelling on the Sony MDR 1000X vs Sennheiser PXC 550; 1 to 10? Is there a significant difference between the two?
Thank you, and actually I just made a video comparing the MDR 1000x and PXC 550 here (skip to the Noise Cancelling time stamp in the description): ua-cam.com/video/O0UbWk8yUNo/v-deo.html
If it's being used wired and not canceling noise, then what is the battery doing? Are you saying it's 30h of standby time? This doesn't seem right. Perhaps a power button is needed after all.
As a dj and producer, Audio Technica Vmoda and Sennheiser is the way to go, I wouldnt even try brands like sony or other brands...bose is very good yes but very overpriced also. Im going for this one also, u know u get great sound on all sennheisers....
Hi! Thanks for the awesome video! I have a quick question maybe you could answer for me: is the pxc 480 basically the same as this one just with a wire? I'm asking because of budget reasons.
I love your work. But I have a few question. I hope you can help me with it. I wonder between this one, Bose QC35 and Momentum 2 Wireless. I listen to instrument and classical music. And about the comfort when wearing, which one is more comfortable when using for hours? In term of price, Momentum 2 Wireless is the most expensive one. But I can find some discount for 336 euro for the Momentum 2 Wireless. PXC 550 is 399 euro and bose qc35 is 349euro. Which one should I go for? Thanks a lot.
If you want my honest opinion, PXC 550. Best comfort, and most versatile sound. I can wear the PXC 550 for hours, actually I did just that on a 4 hour plane trip. The noise-cancelation really cut out the jet engine noise too. Love them, and they're my current favorites.
ODi Productions thanks for your answer. As I went to the other comment, you mentioned that you use Captune to customize the sound. I don't have experience about EQ nor use Tidal to stream music, I use Spotify. How does it sound without EQ?
I got a couple of questions. Do the pxc 550s fit for a dj? I mean does the sound quality get better when you plugin the jack wire compared with the wireless option? And what happens when the battery is dead after years? Can you replace it? I mean is there anyway these headphones will be useless after years due to technical problems? Thanks in advance
You can, but they're not sweat proof. I don't really know of any premium over-ear headphones that are sweat proof, that's usually a feature of earbud/in-ear headphones
Ahh you have the M2s, those are amazing as well. I owned the M2s for about a year now and honestly I love the PXC 550. With that said, I wouldn't go out of my way to replace the M2s just yet. Maybe if the PXC drops in price...
I nearly blew a load when you said the app had an eq. I was concerned that my 2019 ipod touch is already bright sounding and would be a poor match for these. I hope the eq settings are global since the apple products don't have anything universal that way and all the music app presets are junk.
Im deciding what headphone to buy, between the PXC 550 or the WH 1000xm2, and a question that is on my mind is the EQ(on captune app)only works if you have music storage in your phone? Or you can use to tune music from spotify, apple music, etc? I download the app to verify but without the headphone I can only adjust the EQ of musics that are in my phone.. Help please. Thanks!
Hi! May i please have your opinion whether i should get Bose Soundlink 2 headset, Sony MDR-1000X , Sennheiser momentum , Sennheiser PXC 550 or Audio Technica m50X please help me please.. :(
So what IS the battery life using blue tooth and noise cancelling? Also, is the battery removable? This is an important feature in my opinion. If the battery goes bad your headphones are dead or you can have an extra one for traveling. I really enjoy your reviews, very well done and informative, thank you.
Hi thank you for your kind feedback! I haven't personally tested the exact # of hours for battery life, BUT I will say that the battery seems to last extremely long between charges. I wouldn't be surprised if the battery life with Bluetooth/noise-canceling is 20 hours flat or above. As for the battery, they aren't removable in the sense that you can just swap it out, but I think they can be replaced down the line by Sennheiser. I would like to add that these rechargeable batteries are getting really good to the point that they should last years and years with normal usage.
I just tested PXC550 at Sennherser showroom. The sound and features is full on. Still indecisive between PXC and Sony MDR1000x. Please do a review of Sony.
Sony WH-1000xm2 или Sennheiser PXC550 лучше?Like the sound of these headphones! But I do not like the maximum volume, they are a little quiet for me! What about you? Maybe there are some secrets to make them a little louder?
I've looked at these, the MDR1000X and the QC35's. Most reviews the sony comes out slightly on top overall but the Sennheiser’s better on sound quality once tweaked. My money won't go to Sony - they fobbed off MANY customers with broken head bands before accepting a problem claiming the damage to be the users fault. 2 year warrantee with these says it all. Buying these for almost as good as the sony's and not looking like a cyberman from an old DR who episode wins for me. Also Sony's gimmick of cupping the right ear cup to fade out music (when for example being spoken to on a plane/train etc) isn't that useful at all. - I think if someone cupped their earphone as they were spoken to (to fade out music) the speaker would consider that rude - as is to say “fck off I really need to listen to this part of the track” opposed to Sennheiser's approach, lift the ear cup off and the music is paused. Easier, faster and a clear message to anyone talking to you while wearing headphones that you are engaged and ready to hear what they say. Instead of looking like an arrogant twat. Maybe this is why so many got broken :-)Google Sony MDR1000X breaking then do the same search for the Sennheiser’s. I’m not saying Sony make shit in general and the QC35’s are also good (older but still a solid product). For me these are the best choice.
But if you are using cable connection and NC and BT is turned of, why does it still use battery? Does this mean, that you can't use it if the battery runs out?
Just grabbed a pair "new in box" off CL for $180. Guy just didn't like their looks. Didn't even use them had all the stickers on them still. Got lucky. As it was an early "Christmas gift" from my wife who as I write is next to me in bed using them I'll say that's a compliment. Stealing all my hard work and research and she loves them. Couple things won me over on these. Being able to wirelessly pair with my wife's iPhone 7 (?) and for me hardwired to my Droid turbo 2. Win win. Also being able for my daughter to use them to listen to her kidie TV shows is a plus. A lot to like about these headphones. I'm curious to see what the next generation Sennheiser comes out with. This was VERY well thought out and engineered.
So I upgraded from my Bose QC15 to a QC35 and find the soundstage terrible with the thumping bass. I then tried the Sony mdr-1000x and I simply loved it, the sound, the make and feel but the earcups are too small and after an hour or so, my ears are tingling because there is no room in the earcups and the cushions are partially pressing on my ears. What would you suggest I try next, these PXC-550 or the Momentum 2.0?
Absolutely the PXC 550. Did you see how deep the earcups are in the video? Plenty of room for making your ears comfortable. Can't go wrong with the Momentums either but I personally prefer the PXC 550 (I've owned the Momentums for almost a year too)
You skipped over the battery life a little too quickly. 30 hours when using the cable and no bluetooth? That's not why you buy these headphones. How much battery life is there when you use bluetooth, and wireless?
i calculated using these headphones pxc 550 i got 28 hours in adaptive nc mode n director mode effects n bluetooth from my iPhone......i used it for more than a week.....!!!!!
Please give honest reviews only not sponsored. This has a bug after turning off the Bluetooth once, you can't turn on and bring to pairing mode if you don't have NFC enabled mobile phone
I just sold my QC35 I just couldn't agree on praised comfort. My ears get so hot and uncomfortable after just 30 min of use. Then you cant liedown wearing qc35 it pulls your ears down.......for some reason though I loved qc25 and could wear those for hours.
I bought the Bose qc 35 II and they made my ears extremely hot after 30 mins and no headphones ever do that to me. Also the pressure was terrible. Returned them and got beats studio 3 and did not like their comfort either. Do you think I would like these and would these make my ears hot? Am I on a wild goose chase or are these my answer is it the nc that makes your ears hot? Wonder if these will be comfy and not make my ears hot ??
I would love to check this out in person, I dont buy anything with out seeing them in person, Could you tell me where to see a pair? Thanks so much for the information!!!!
I can give you a quick comparison right now, the PXC 550 is a much more versatile, feature-packed headphone due to the ability to change the EQ and "Effects" modes which is a huge advantage IMO. The Momentum 2, although it has a great sound, you're limited to only 1 sound. With that said, I've owned the Momentum 2s for almost a year, but haven't touched them since I got the PXC 550. The proof is in the pudding as they say :P
Nice review... It is rare for headphones such a good review. I need good wired sound quality also from a wireless headphone. Iam thinking about pxc550, mdr1000x Bass will not be a problem as we can change it.i like a little bass. Sound quality is the main concern of me. Does these produce hi res sound when connected through wire? Should i consider momentum 2.0 wireless and plantronics backbeat pro 2 se?
If anything, all of these headphones sound BETTER when wired. The wireless quality, as good as it is, will still have a slight loss in quality depending on your source device. Please watch one of my latest videos where I compare the sound quality of the Sonys with the Sennheisers here: ua-cam.com/video/O0UbWk8yUNo/v-deo.html
Mdr 1000x is 32 ohm i think. So galaxy note 5 will drive it descent.note 5 has a descent wired output. Actually what i want to know is that, does the source affect the sound quality in wireless mode?
Heyy just bought this as per your reccomendation. I have a question though.. I have some problem with connecting bluetooth to my non nfc phone. It cant connect saying i have incorrect pin/passkey, but i cant find a way to input it anywhere. Do you know the solution to this?
I am having a dilemma I need to replace my old v-moda mx-100 wired I use these mostly for gaming and streaming with the boommic and have been looking at the pxc 550 and sony mdr 100x for a wireless option i could also use to excercise in another room with , or maybe massdrops emu teak or fostex x00 for wired options.. can the built in mic on the pxc 550 be used for skype and other applications in addition to phone calls? or would i need to go with an external mic for that? great review look forward to more.
Yes, the PXC 550 has multiple built-in microphones for high quality calls. As far as using the mic for applications, I'm not positive as I haven't tested this, but if it's connected via Bluetooth then it should work.
Does the sound signature save across multiple devices? For example, if you changed from "club" to "director" mode using the app then used the headphones on another device, would the effect still be present?
Half says QC35 are still the best in market for the sound quality and bass. Another half says PXC 550 is the best. Which one do i choose? I prefer something with great bass and excellent sound quality.

ODi Productions hey Budd, great review 😊👌. Btw. I'm stuck either pxc550 or mdr1000x. Pls help, i really need an opinion which one to go 😓
Junve Astronomo which one did you end up going with?
ODi Productions hey can you tell me if the sennheiser pxc 550 have a movie mode for watching movies on the app that you download for it
Excellent video. I just got lucky and bought a pair on CL "new" open box the guy didn't like their looks and didn't use them. $180. Totally lucked out. Great review ODi !!! What about the support for aptx? You never said if the pxc 550 supports it
I bought this a few days ago and I’m so impressed by the quality and comfort (took a 12:30 hours flight and not even got tired of use them). I’ve tried the Bose before buying, they are so good too but I’ve owned other Sennheisers before and decided for the PXC 550.
Your video was fantastic, keep on that road!
so i got these just a few days ago, they are really awesome. noise cancelation is smooth and pretty balanced.
Just bought these, kinda by accident...
1. Anc is good but Bose is better
2. The included cables are not 3,5 stereo but 2,5 and they are crap and don't have any lock.
3. They on/off switch is bullshit, you can fold the headphones only one way
4. They sound great on BT but crap on cable
5. They stutter sometimes still didn't find out why
6. The cap app is good
7. The gestures are good and easy to learn
8. Phone quality is good
9. No usb charger just a usb micro cable --no usb-c
10. Sound quality is very good
11. Passive isolation is good
12. They have a feature vehen you double tap them that they not just stop the audio but also make project the sounds from outside so you don't have to take them off and can hear clearly any conversation.
12. The anc is off for phone call
13. When you plug the audio cable bt turns off
Aluzcz they probably sound crap on cable because they have an impedance level of 490ohms. So you are going to need a hefty amp to fully power those puppies wired.

wow your videos are very well written , keep up the good work
Thank you bro!!
ODi Productions literally just shopping around for a pair of Bluetooth headphones right now, outstanding review subscribed
I'm going to get these today! Your video was that damn good. Subbed.
Much appreciated and you're gonna love em!
i went with the Bose QC35 instead after seeing your other video. Thanks
Nice! There are no wrong choices here :-)

Awesome! Yeah the Bose ANC is effective but also quite annoying. I love being able to turn off the ANC completely in the 550, it's too bad the QC35 can't do the same...
@@oDiProductions can you turn off the touch from pxc 550? it's so damn annoying sometimes bcs it's very sensitive

You can also double tap when some one wants to talk to you.
It will pause what ever you are listening to, and use the mics to boost the speakers voice so you can hear them clearly with out having to take the headphones off
I see you with that young sinatra leaving a like just for that
My biggest question is ambient sound levels emitted from the headphones to people nearby.
A 50%** increase in battery life
It really ends up being a reduced battery life vs the Bose when you make a more similar comparison. QC35s are rated at 40h when using a wire.
@@xstarfuryx74 The PXC are rated at infinite hours using a wire because it doesn`t need battery on wire lol....
great review again bro, you said the bose active noise cancelling has a "strange sensation" thats the same feeling i get when i put them on.
Thanks for the lovely comparison, I just ordered these. Have been really confused over the last few days! Thanks man, keep up the good work
Much appreciated!
Very detailed review, i hope you review more headphones:-)
Thanks man! I got the Sony MDR-1000x coming soon
excellent review...top marks for the detail and in depth review which was a big help for my next headphone purchase...👌👏👍
Awesome! You will NOT be disappointed
Denis Are these good to use on the PS4? Are they compatible for gaming purposes?
vgman94 Yes they are. They have a built in mic and can be plugged into a controller
Was in the market for NC, based on the video I bought this one in stead of the Momentum. Thanks
You made the right choice IMO, I'd take these over the Momentums too.
Awesome! Great to hear your detailed feedback and I agree with your points. Glad you're enjoying them :-)
Great review! I just bought it thanks to this awesome review! Cheers
No thumbs down! These fools finally learning to respect your work
It's a miracle my dude xD
That was an awesome review! I'm really glad I found you today because I'm researching for my new pair of headphones. Now, thanks to you I have no doubts about which ones I'm getting. I'm off to the shop to get me some PXC 550 sound. Cheers again, now I don't have to go through the sales person speal. ☺ 👍 👍 👍
Haha awesome! You will love them!
Janine Slater fh5n7r5v2z🥝🍡🥧🥛🍰&ghh_hmxm1234567890=.
Amazing review. I'm deciding on getting these. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, you won't regret it!
But personal EQ can be used only when you play music from phone?
Nice review...are they louder than qc35 or even sony m1000x?
Great video man! Would you recommand this over the Momentum Wireless? Considering build quality and design is slightly superior on the momentum lineup.
I love your review! Also, what is that intro song you're playing?
I wonder why it became as pricey as PXC 550. xD
And thanks! I will make my order as soon as i'm sure that no other headphones are on sale this christmas, lol. :)
Bet. Yeah man that's an absolute steal for the H.ear on, Sennheiser needs to drop the Momentum price a bit haha
Thanks for the review. I want to get some final advice before I take the plunge on buying
these rather pricey headphones. I've actually had Bose QC 25s for a couple
years and I like them - but I want/need to go wireless. However,
I'm leaning towards Sennheiser PXC 550 . I'm actually testing the Bose QC 35s
now (returnable), with my MacBook Pro (mid 2009). Nice sound, ANC - but I find
the range limited. If I leave my computer room, the sound often cuts out. I don’t
know if a dongle or transmitter in my laptop USB port would help with range.
My secondary use is with my Sony Bravia TV, which doesn't
have BT audio capability. Some people suggest that an inexpensive low latency
aptX BT transmitter will work (with no audio lag) in the TV's headphone jack or
digital out. The QC 35s have A2DP, and I've heard they do have latency/lag
problems with BT transmitters. Saleem's review (here) says the Sennheisers may
work.
www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-PXC-550-Wireless-Cancelling/product-reviews/B01E3XLNA0/ref=dpx_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1
Sony says use RF headphones, but I don't want to buy two
sets of headphones: BT for my mac and RF for my TV). I assume that I can't use
RF headphones easily with my MacBook Pro.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Good review, you make me want to buy PXC 550. Thank you.
I was surprised on how much subs you've got you seem like the person who doesn't do click bait and all that yet only 20,000 subs
I know maybe I should start click baiting... lol jk
Great detailed review.Classic headphones.Bluetooth is the way forward.
Agreed! Appreciate the kind feedback.
Which is the now latest Sennheiser worth to buy post this model? As of 2023-24..
Extremely good review!!
Thank you!!
Are these good for using them on your PS4? Does the mic work to talk with other people online?
such a brilliant review. Very well done!
Hi! Thanks for the awesome video! I have a quick question maybe you could answer for me: is the pxc 480 basically the same as this one just with a wire? I'm asking because of budget reasons.
Hi, did you find an answer? I'm wondering too
Wich one would you pick, sennheiser Momentum 2.0 wireless or sennheiser pxc 550
Can I work out in these ?? Like is it sweat proof?
You can, but they're not sweat proof. I don't really know of any premium over-ear headphones that are sweat proof, that's usually a feature of earbud/in-ear headphones
Excellent review, you almost made buy a pair right now xD
Haha wouldn't be a bad choice! There was a brief moment they were going for $100 off on Amazon yesterday...
Damm, I totally missed that but I already have the momentum 2.0 so do you think this pair will sound as good?
Ahh you have the M2s, those are amazing as well. I owned the M2s for about a year now and honestly I love the PXC 550. With that said, I wouldn't go out of my way to replace the M2s just yet. Maybe if the PXC drops in price...
i have the momntum wirless
do the 550 has better base?
Is it possible to use the PXC 550 as headsets for phoning with a smartphone, connecting NOT via bluetooth but via cable?
Is the sound quality same on bt and cable?
Nice review bro cant wait to get mine!👌
I nearly blew a load when you said the app had an eq. I was concerned that my 2019 ipod touch is already bright sounding and would be a poor match for these. I hope the eq settings are global since the apple products don't have anything universal that way and all the music app presets are junk.
Nice review! Any chance you'll be reviewing or comparing to the new Sony MDR 1000X? I'm trying to decide between the two.
Soon! I'm going to pick them up and work on a video. I've been a little busy with moving so I won't have access to my setup for a bit.
Pxc 550 the Sony head bands crack after a while. It is too bad because those are some great headphones.
Nice review...what about loudness..Need some really loud headphones..!!
Thanks!
I have a question
So these headphones cannot just operate with wire?
As in can I just use a wire with it and not need to charge it all ?
Thank you
Yes
will these hold up if it is raining outside and you are walking down the street, for example??
Does the Sennheiser better or the Bower and Wilkins PX better ?
Hi! May i please have your opinion whether i should get Bose Soundlink 2 headset, Sony MDR-1000X , Sennheiser momentum , Sennheiser PXC 550 or Audio Technica m50X please help me please.. :(
400? It's now only 180.
Soon my friend! I plan to get my hands on a pair this month
Paul Fletcher Totally agree with you.
This was VERY well thought out and engineered.
love your work mate new follower from Australia
Much appreciated and welcome!
Do you think pxc 480 can go on par with the 550?
Rudy Kammermeier 30 hours
i calculated using these headphones pxc 550 i got 28 hours in adaptive nc mode n director mode effects n bluetooth from my iPhone......i used it for more than a week.....!!!!!
Rudy Kammermeier Wired mode doesnt take battery life
Out of these two which one is better pxc 550 vs momentum 2.0 wireless??
Johnny Nguyen pic 550 probably
Earned yourself a subscriber my dude
Please give honest reviews only not sponsored. This has a bug after turning off the Bluetooth once, you can't turn on and bring to pairing mode if you don't have NFC enabled mobile phone
Good review, thanks!
Much appreciated man!
I just sold my QC35 I just couldn't agree on praised comfort. My ears get so hot and uncomfortable after just 30 min of use. Then you cant liedown wearing qc35 it pulls your ears down.......for some reason though I loved qc25 and could wear those for hours.
These as not as comfortable as the QC35.
sorry, did you just say the PXC550 are not as comfortable as the QC35?
Jose Allan Tan They have more clamping force than the qc35 so for me these are less comfortable.
Londerjan QC35 are most comfortable on the market
I bought the Bose qc 35 II and they made my ears extremely hot after 30 mins and no headphones ever do that to me. Also the pressure was terrible. Returned them and got beats studio 3 and did not like their comfort either. Do you think I would like these and would these make my ears hot? Am I on a wild goose chase or are these my answer is it the nc that makes your ears hot? Wonder if these will be comfy and not make my ears hot ??
Pxc 550 demands some Respec!
Yo I'm with you man the PXC 550 is awesome
ODi Productions hahha
I would love to check this out in person, I dont buy anything with out seeing them in person, Could you tell me where to see a pair? Thanks so much for the information!!!!
Can you make a video comparing the sennheiser pxc 550 vs momentum 2?
I can give you a quick comparison right now, the PXC 550 is a much more versatile, feature-packed headphone due to the ability to change the EQ and "Effects" modes which is a huge advantage IMO. The Momentum 2, although it has a great sound, you're limited to only 1 sound. With that said, I've owned the Momentum 2s for almost a year, but haven't touched them since I got the PXC 550. The proof is in the pudding as they say :P
thanks!
Nice review... It is rare for headphones such a good review.
I need good wired sound quality also from a wireless headphone. Iam thinking about pxc550, mdr1000x
Bass will not be a problem as we can change it.i like a little bass.
***** thanks for the reply
I use a Samsung Galaxy note 5 (n920c)
Hmmm not sure about the Notes, but I've heard Samsung has generally lower output for wired headphones than other phone manufacturers
Mdr 1000x is 32 ohm i think. So galaxy note 5 will drive it descent.note 5 has a descent wired output.
Actually what i want to know is that, does the source affect the sound quality in wireless mode?
Yes, because the MDR 1000x is capable of LDAC and AptX I believe. And the Sennheiser's AptX
But are they loud? I bought the bang & olufson h8i and they aren't loud are all!
Recommendations for an DAC/AMP?
Yes I believe so because the setting is actually saved to the headphones and not the device itself. I could be wrong, but this is my experience
What about using them with wire?
I’ve heard there are limitations
Does this work well on a Galaxy phone?
Do I need an adapter for PCX 550? It says it has to be 4.2 bluetooth but I searched everywhere and couldn't find it. Please help :(
Only downside of the PXC-550 is that I like to wear it so much: the earcushions are worn out in no time at all!
Great honest review.
Please help me!
My PXC550 won’t charge somehow. It worked perfectly but it won’t charge....... please help me! I don’t know what to do!
Half says QC35 are still the best in market for the sound quality and bass. Another half says PXC 550 is the best. Which one do i choose? I prefer something with great bass and excellent sound quality.
Between the 2, I'd get the PXC 550 forsure. But just to throw a wrench in your decision, I think the Sony MDR 1000x is the best of both worlds.
ODi Productions Thanks For your help! Good Review! I will soon be making a decision. Appreciate it.
No problem! Whichever you choose, I don't think there's a wrong decision
yes but can it run crysis?
The Radium The real question is if it can run Gnack 4 do
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Of course it can and more
How is this compared to the h.ear on 2? In terms of sound quality, ANC, comfort and sound leakage. Anyone have both?
Is it possible to pair two pxc 550s to a single android?
