    So excited I own the 4 main boxes, both rivals, confrontations, multiverse, all 8 crossover packs, all crisis, I only don’t have promos, rebirth, and the teen titans go kid version

    I will probably get this. I loved the Street Fighter version with the same engine.

    Would you say this set plays very similar to the original four core games? The simplicity of the original four games is what keeps my small group interested in it, so if it’s more complex, they wouldn’t be too interested. For example, the rivals, injustice, rebirth, and the upcoming justice league Dark had a bit too much into the game for it to be played casually. The original four games have very straightforward rules and mechanics that people who don’t play deck building games can quickly get into. I was wondering if this set was Closer to the core four or the other variants mentioned above

    I found the weakness cards aren't really a problem, playing 2 consecutive weaknessess doesn't happen much so basically it was pretty much a standard game like the core set. Consequently the characters getting captured didn't happen much and there wasn't really a downside to it... if your character gets captured you just trade it for another, so the Batman who laughs was just this weird section on the table that people only took notice of every now and then...there should be a penalty like the game is lost if 5 heroes are captured...also there is no synergy between the heroes so playing two or three just meant more individual powers to keep track of, more book keeping...and the super-villains only have costs of 9 and 11 so they aren't much of a problem the longer the game progresses...

    the only thing that confuses is if you draw your 2 weakness in a hand of 5 do you have to use the first and then you lose your turn?

    I played this game couples of times, but somehow there is some confusing rules about weakness vs Tomb of Hath (ongoing location card). Which cards must be played first ?

    Does the superman hero mean you don't have to end your turn with two weaknesses?

      Yup it takes 3 weaknesses for it to end your turn and get your hero captured.

    I only play crisis modes, so I'm really hoping that one of these will come for Bat Metal. The thematics are really great in this.

    Do they have rarity’s with these cards like Pokémon! I’m new to collecting cards!

      No rarities here! Deckbuilders, as well games using the LCG label, are sold with the same cards every time. Maybe sometimes they have a promo card included in first editions, but those are often sold afterwards on the game store website. These are often designed to be a one and done purchase, with future expansion sets to add more cards as the game grows. Because of this they often sell the entire game in one box, with some LCGs selling smaller sets to pick up.
      TCG or CCGs on the other hand, will have cards sold in randomized packs, which can contain a variety of different cards of different rarities. Rarity is more important here as you are not guaranteed what cards you get, and some cards are more desirable than others. They do have items with fixed lists like mentioned above, usually pre-made decks, but the appeal is the luck of opening a pack with a highly sought after card. I hope this helps!

    Definitively buying this, not a big fan of Rebirth

    Sadly, this is going to be a hard pass for me. I've been collecting all of the DC DBG expansions, and lately they've all just been feeling the same until Rebirth came out. Finally they made something new and interesting, and my group loved it (although the legacy aspect was unnecessary). I was hoping they'd continue supporting this new co-op "board game" campaign format. Dark Nights feels like a step backwards.

    So I take it this expansion doesn't work with Rebirth?

    So is not solo playable then? Great video by the way.

    • @RollforCrit
      @RollforCrit  4 роки тому +3

      It's playable solo only if combined with one of the Crisis packs, not by itself. Thanks for watching!

      If you use the non-official solo rules it is...you'll just have to use Kick cards or an extra stack of Weakness cards to use as the timer. I'm buying it to play solo.
