I think you're the best YT content creator at demonstrating and explaining different builds for GW2. I just wish that players like you would consider helping other players to improve their performance, by giving one on one feedback and advice in a private PvP area, like in a guild hall maybe. You could even charge in game currency for the service, unless it is prohibited by Anet, which I doubt, since people get tips for porting players to the end of JP's. Until that is offered by someone, I'll just have to keep trying to get better by watching these and other videos of yours.
I've been a fan of D/D Ele since the game came out. I only really check the game out on occasion (lv1 pvp) since I used to mostly play Wow. I love how I'm really getting back into GW2 because your videos are centered around this playstyle and the guides are super helpful.
i really liked the new hammer elementalist concept. I wanna start learning elementalist. This looks like a fun and safe start. Antitoxin runes are the best
Please do us a favor and add another video of you doing more Gameplay Commentary! I love this build, but would enjoy/learn from more live examples of how you think and act with this build! Thank you!
Would this build also work on PVP and if yes, which amulets and sigils would you use? Thanks for the video, Im really only good at playing Tempest so videos like yours are a big help! :)
Awesome! I may try this out. Do you find D/D has a little better mobility than sword/f? Just curious...with all the builds you've made, do you have a top 3 roaming builds as far as your favorites or generally has the most success?
I can't wait for EOD so they make this class viable again in WvW. It's just so subpar compared to engi in Zergs and weaver for roaming. Great video though.
I main condi weaver but have been fighting this build and even though I've not lost to it I feel like it def has more potential than condi weaver if in the right hands, stone heart is such a huge bonus to have. Would you putting preference aside prefer this tempest build over condi weaver?
I think I saw you testing this spec (pestering ppl) at the bridge outside of blue's home... I was on a sup scrap ferrying guildies past you (trying to convince them to leave you alone).
Vallun, is there a Scepter or Staff build that works for Weaver or Tempest? I'd love to play Ele, but I prefer ranged. I know in GW2 melee is king. I'm not looking to play optimally in pve, and in pvp since I'm a mediacore player, I rather stay range. However all Weaver/Tempest builds are Dagger or Sword. I'd really love to play Tempest/Weaver since so far none of the range classes "click" for me (Scourge, Renegade).
On my thoughts you if your new super new might not consider ele cause it kinda complicated and u have to remember lot of skill combo but if u like it go for anybody start new so go for if u like it
Personally found renegrade and herald challenging in wvw, despite being easy in PvE. Revenant gets stuck in weapons and legends for 9 seconds each and the energy limits are challenging to manage, meaning you REALLY have to manage your skills well. I haven't tried roaming on Ele yet but this looks like an easier playstyle.
D/d ele was the only time I ever had fun on ele. Would love to try this on cele. I think I see alot of people in cele using scepter/focus. Really tanky.
try the lightning rod tempest on this page guildjen.com/lightning-rod-weaver-pvp-build/ or you can use a wizard amulet with the build on this video, maybe warhorn
getting any kind of stats on gear is super easy, u can buy very cheap shoulders and helm on tp for less than 5g both ( can select weight and then stats on it ) then rest u can get in verdant brink by farming it for a few hours ( use airship currency to buy gear and select yourself stats )
@@Vallun and how would you rate ele overall for roaming? Good bad? S? A? C? :) Going to try and revive my ele after 7/8 years in slumber to prepare for Cata
@@Vallun B tier doesn't sound too convincing for Solo roaming 🙃 What specs are top tier for Solo roam in your opinion? Appreciate that you're taking time to reply!
@@SebKroghTop Tier for Solo Roaming is (in this order, I would say): Thief, Engi, Ranger. Everything else can still be viable, but basically you need stealth if you want to disengage these days. You can't just run away from multiple enemies, they will mount up while you are still infight and chase you down. Revenant and Warrior are probably the hardest to solo roam with.
@@alexandervouzenthal8163 A faceroll stat doesn't prevent learning, because faceroll is context dependent. Maybe it's faceroll 1v1 in some match-ups, but the game isn't just 1v1s, and there are plenty of situations in which, celestial or no celestial stats, if you don't use your defensive abilities, your cleanses, your mobility, etc, properly, you will die. Celestial may lead to learning slower in some environments, but it certainly does not prevent learning.
these opponents all look new. No one getting proper distance or using defensive skills. either staged or only saving highlights vs super new players. kinda funny. show me that vs dragon hunger, ranger, or thief. lol
lol dude if i saved vods for a long time i wouldnt have hundreds of vids. it usually takes me a week to get good at a build and optimize the final version AT MOST. If the players aren't good enough then start making guides to get better players in the game :)
These in-depth videos are exactly what gw2 needs. It’s gotten so complicated so thank you!
oh man thank you. I missed my d/d ele days. Getting back to that "bunker" build is going to be great.

thanks for all the videos and interesting builds Vallun
Hype! I hope you make a Weaver build/guide next. I've been trying it lately, inspired by some of your earlier videos.
I'm a mesmer main and I want to try Elem but there's too many to press for me. Haha. You're a pro!
Im using a similar build with water/earth and scepter/ warhorn and literally I feel that im a key piece of battles and can rally hard af.
ran into a similar build the other night and it was horrible to fight. took 3 full burst builds to finally take it out. sooooo much sustain

this build feels way safer at being ganked by sic em rangers, but the weaver is much better at 1v1ing and securing kills
I would like to see this build in regular pvp as well.
just go sage balthazar with doom exposure

trailblazer can be fine, or carrion

How do you fight Scourge or Core Necro on this?

what would a pvp version of this build look like nowadays - or a any non support tempest for pvp?

Is there any other optional rune for this,

Is there a secondary set of gear you would recommend if you don't currently have access to Celestial?
trailblazer or carrion
