I’m a former “garage band” bass player from the middle 1960’s. I never had any desire after 2-3 years of it to pick it up again. I’m 73 now and caught onto this Peter Gabriel song just a couple weeks ago. The bass riff just resonated with me but couldn’t ever see Tony Levin’s fingerings in any of the videos….until 10 minutes ago in your video. I so want to learn it…I can’t get it out it off of my mind. Thanks for putting this out. My wife’s going to flip out when FedEx delivers a box containing a used, beat up Precision Bass.
What is NOT to LOVE? Brilliant! NOT an easy song to nail the timing and syncopation! Muchos finesse and nuances to navigate! What Virtual Bass Amp Plug-In did you use? Settings? Had so much of the texture as the original track!
Thank you! I use the ampeg b15 plugin in Logic and compression. But the most important thing it's the foam mute near the bridge and the pick, in my opinion 👍
