Ofsted Outstanding rating explained by Academics and Trainees from the School of Education

The School of Education at St Mary’s University, Twickenham (SMU) has once again retained its Ofsted Outstanding rating in all categories for Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training. This cements the University’s place as one of the country’s leading teacher training providers.
St Mary’s University has been rated as Outstanding since 2011, retaining the status in 2019, and now again in June 2024.
We spoke to students and academics in the School of Education at St Mary’s about what this rating has personally meant to them, as well as what they think makes St Mary’s special.
