    Keep the faith, Jan. Courage isn't always the voice that roars, but often the still small voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow. The struggle takes real courage. And to those of you casting the stones...have you never failed and known you should have done better, wish you had done better? None of us are perfect, the question is whether we will pick ourselves up and try again.

    I don't know what's sadder: That JMV deteriorated as far as he did, or that Insider treated him like a circus attraction. He should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of how he ended up or why. This is just sad.

      He was probably glad to do it since he sure got a lot of money for this.

      well said, Alex Palmer!
      feels like especially this part of the interview (4) is degrading somehow... Asking very personal questions, knowing he won't be able to answer one way or another... hurts watching it... 😟

    I, too, was in an auto accident in which my neck was broken in 2001. I was sitting at a traffic light, and, suddenly, my world changed. I was a newlywed, and the world lay ahead; now my wife works and I am a "kept man" or whatever you might want to call it. I was an aerospace engineer, but now I'm a bum, addicted to painkillers and alcohol. Don't be TOO hard on him; life can be cruel. God be with you, Mr. Vincent.

    golly !!! i am 65 now and have had my party times in past !!! clubbing and drinking and am glad i slowed down some years ago too!! no judgement call at all i still have a cocktail at times!! just a shame that this man once so gorgeous and talented did not slow down and be more okay today!! bless him and there but for a higher power goes me and a lot of us out there too!!!

    Everyone gets old, even without alcohol or drugs. He was born in 1944, the year before World War 2 ended! As of 2012, he is 68 years old. So do not mistake the effects of growing old with anything else because it is an insult to ALL old people who were once gorgeous physically. I'm a guy who once modeled for a living, and now I am 60. It was hard to get used to not having anyone notice me as I walked by, but life is constant change. God Bless Jan.

  • @vegasjill21
    @vegasjill21 12 років тому +3

    A very nice and TRUE post. I also used to model and as of late, I am not the heartthrob I once was anymore, either. As for Jan~Michael, he still has the beautiful heart he always had. And he still ain't bad on the eyes! I hope he tries to keep as healthy as possible.

  • @dao4law
    @dao4law 13 років тому +6

    This is an eye opener--he was the star of the last version of the movie The Mechanic with Charles Bronson...to say the guy was a heart throb is an understatement. The ravages of addiction, trauma and oirganic brain syndrome. A Lifetime movie of this one time super star would be a powerful statement against the ravages of addiction and a way for this victim of fame to regain the dignity taken from him.

    It's very, very sad seeing Jan Michael Vincent now.
    I can understand that he never was able to beat the nightmare of drugs and alcohol. I wish him love, peace & happiness in his last years, and hope he isn't suffering. Life isn't easy for everyone. Fame & fortune, was probably what made life too hard
    to deal with in his case.
    A lot of people have inner demons they can never over come. l hope he is still with his wife & that they are both happy.

      Marion Schofield Makes me mad that he was thrown in the deep end,a kid from a small town n led to believe that real men in Hollywood drank,n drank,n drank.And as long as Jan was pulling in the punters, Hollywood turned a blind eye.It still happens n it sucks.

    @ecuaintel Very well said. I too grew up watching him and Ernest Borgnine on Airwolf, and it's so sad to see how people treat him, and it's so painful to see him go through what he's going through. God Bless this man, and may he be able to overcome the mental issues he is currently facing. Jan, from an epileptic to you, We can and will overcome this problem. We have the abilities...believe in faith, and let "The Lady" keep you safe... God Bless

    another childhood hero shattered

    Jan Michael is 68 years old now, a lot of people don't make it too that, my neighbour is 72 and her husband is 76; she runs a horse stud farm looks 50 and he is a trucker and looks 52. They work hard all the time. JMV has had it tough, broken hip, enough divorces to drive a man to drink but he will always be and is my pin up from my teen years. I am 51 now, it's an incentive watching this clip to keep in as best possible health you can, I pass for 40 work in tourism and I have to look my best.

    If you've ever seen an ant try to climb out of a bottle, & someone keeps pushing it back down, that's what addictions are like. I wish Jan a lucky break,but it may be too late. I do wish him a "miracle", if it's possible....

    One of the saddest things I've ever seen. Jan Michael was the man and I'm one of the biggest Airwolf Nerds to ever walk the planet, but what has he done to himself? I hope he gets help. I don't like how ET made fun of 'em for sure.

    All he needs is a chance? The poor man can't even answer a question coherently. This interview that he agreed to makes it clear that he is completely incapable of working, and possibly was still on some sort of drugs (legal or illegal) while it was taped. Very sad, but unfortunately waaay too late for any chance of recovering.

    If I could be reborn and choose my looks, I'd choose to look just like Jan as a young man. He was incredibly good looking. WOW! But we each have our own genetic time bombs and our own choices. I wonder what Jan would look like today if he never touched drugs or alcohol. Would he have aged well like? He is an object lesson, but this lesson never seems to matter to young people. I suppose the next victim in the making is Miley Cyrus (spelling?).

      455Transam If u are a small town kid without much knowledge of life in the fast lane, suddenly thrown in the deep end n told by stars u look up to,that REAL men drink n u want to fit in,then that's what u do.And so long as Jan was a box office attraction, Hollywood was happy to turn a blind eye.Guys like 'Dom' tried to help,but by then it was probably too late.Its sickening n it still goes on today.

    I don't think the word courage is proper. NOW, the word MONEY may be suitable. He even admitted during part 1 of his interview that (His Quote), "I'm working right now"! When he told her that he had not been drinking at the time of the interview, he was lying! I think he had to so he could build up his courage and get his drinking money. Sad very sad!

    @ftjax I'm one of those ants, its been since 85 for me..& I'm not sure why..I couldn't even imagine or want to contemplate life with out,I see stuff like this & people I know, who just cant stop,and I always arrive at "I'm just not supposed to understand" I'm aware I haven't "won" or "out of the woods" at the same time, not just JMV but anyone who is ravaged by spirits, it's hell !
