Absolutely amazing! All your videos. I own a f225 and these videos have been super helpful. I had the dreaded corrosion issue. Ive had to replace VST tank, and now Im doing a power head swap because the exhaust corrosion went all the way up to my powerhead. John, you're the man!!!! Much appreciated !
Dealing with all types of boats and motors my whole life. Full time in my own business for 20 years. It surprised me a lot to see you make no Mention of any type of anti seize that should be used??!! I realize there are types that don’t mix well with aluminum. But to me it is just really paying it forward to the next mechanic down the road to use a never seize / anti seize / grease on all the hardware that can get salt water in it. To many broken bolts over the years that would have come out fine if they had been anti seized from the get go. Great video though!!! Love how straight forward no bullshit you are!!!
John, Enjoy watching your complete repair of the Yamaha F225. I have to do a similar repair on my 2006 F150 that was losing oil due to a bolt coming loose on the manifold just under the thermostat housing. I did not recognize it until it appears to be too late. I hear a clanking sound from the top end and the compression in cylinder 1 (105-110) is too far out of range from the other three (145). I have two questions… 1. Any similar videos on the F150? 2. What is the name of the motor stand you use that rotates the engine?
Awesome video! Can you tell me what size is the flywheel nut? I'm trying to fix some threads on the crankshaft and need to know the size of the dye I will need..
What type of yamabond are you using for the gasket sealant? I looked on your website and looks like there is a couple different flavors. I'm guessing #4 or #5 but I'd like to know which you used.
Give me a clue as to how to put on a belt F250. With the tensioner pinned, the old belt was a bear to get off. Extremely tight. Now trying to get the new belt on is laughable. Help.
John Talley is the utmost Professional Marine Mechanic and I myself as well as anyone can really learn a lot from him....Thank you John!

Whats the best way to get educated on marine engines if someone like myself wanted to pursue a career as a marine technician
Thanks for sharing, like to see how the exhaust goes from exhaust ports to mid unit muffler. The caption really takes too much area on the screen.

I saw you setting the pointer dead center on the flywheel. What is that pointer used for besides the arrows that have to be aligned?

What’s the cost of a rebuild on this motor ?
By the time you put in all the money on labor and parts rebuilding a 17 year old engine might as well just buy a new one, right?
