He can both look serious and hilarious at the same time xD
and there goes the main conflict of the plot! genius "fuck you" plot twist
Just by the way, the song being played when the submarine appears is "Warsaw Song", also known in russian as "Varshavianka"
If you want to get technically the first song that plays as the sub begins surfacing is the opening to Kalinka then varshavianka
@@Azraeltheangelofdeath Thanks for the info!
Just realized this scene was to show off the Cohen Brothers technical skills on water.
" _If he dies... he dies._ "
God, that irony. I swear it hits like Mayweather.
This Tatum looking more like Val Kilmer the older he gets
I just realized that the dog is named after Fredrich Engels, the guy who founded Marxism with Karl Marx, and I'm shook.
Engels didn't "found" marxism with Marx.
Marx was commissioned to write his book "Capital" by banking concerns that wanted a study of the relatively new industrial economy. Capital was a piece of market research.
But Capital was idolized by communists, which were their own movement at the time, and they interpreted Capital as a scientific model of the future of economics.
Marx was subsequently hired to cover the Paris commune as a journalist, and the communists forced him to sign their manifesto. He had no part in writing it, and no association with the communists, they just idolized his work and took him hostage. Marx was merely a working journalist.
@@Jcolinsol What a weird narrative. Marx actively helped organize and run some of the first communist organizations in Europe and spent his whole life writing volume after volume of work extolling the struggles of the working class and advocating for their victory in revolution.
@@Jcolinsol Frederich Engels wrote plenty of Communist theories he wasn't forced to do anything, he was just as much a philosopher as Marx.
So why does Tatum call him Eagles? That’s always bothered me about this scene.
@@Jcolinsol yeah i like disinformation too
0:53 GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL!!
InterWeb Gamer a
A proper tribute paid to Hunt for the Red October ! :)
Straight up Soviet film... yeah. They really were this over the top.
Once upon a time in Hollywood? Psssh
Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, 40s style
I may be in the minority, but I wish they some movies to look like this.
you look up other coen brothers movies? something like o brother, where art thou?
Apparently the guy who sorted out the colouring said after this movie he'd never do it again, as it was a monumental effort to get it done with the lack of the infrastructure that previously existed to produce films with this kind of look.
A good Hunt for Red October tune would be nice here.
A Shame that they don't show Dolph Lundgren the right Way
He originally had a longer role but most of it was cut (IMDb trivia)
7 dislikes are from Joseph McCarthy
I would like to add one dislike because in reallife these writers did seriously suffer from McCarthy's politics and are here presented as utter fools.
That was my one irritation with an otherwise very entertaining movie.
What is the name of the song that plays when the submarine surfaces?
"Warsaw Song", also known in russian as "Varshavianka"
The life of a dog value more than the money. That's what I think this scene is about.
And since everything in this movie has a connection/subtext involving film, we see a "hero" here saving the dog ("save the cat"). This is supposed to make the character likeable, which is does, but it's mixed feelings for his audience in the boat.
Dolph lundgren apparitions
Nobody noticed that Ivan Drago' was the submarine 's captain
Submarine is the chehov rifle . If you know .
I still don't get why no one jumped in after it.
S.C. Beatty Booooo. It's comedy.
Because they’re communists and didn’t want to look like hypocrites
Same reason why socialists hold onto their beliefs despite countries sinking into ruin by its execution time and time again.
@@bens5859 Why would it be an hypocrisy? comunists are not against money or having money
@@oscarestrada8477 If you say so. Either way, a reflexive desire for money is looked down upon. That's what the screenwriters exhibited when Tatum dropped the money.
This looks like a reference from U-571
What is the song starting at 0:41 ??
Two songs actually. The first one is "Kalinka", the second one is "Varchavianka". Both were performed by the red army choir.
"Warsaw Song", also known in russian as "Varshavianka"
He threw it on a way for a dog ...good man.
2:13 omgggggg
Anyone else hear Warszawianka?
I have no idea why it's the case but I think BG is supposed to be Jesus Christ in this scene. him jumping on the boat is supposed to be like Jesus walking on water. He even has 12 disciples. as to why the Coen brothers did this, I have no idea.
Jesus was communist duh
Him jumping on the sub and looking back is exactly the same as the move he did during the musical number. It's all a performance
@@Eidlones Except when he saves the dog.
Nostrovia.
Oh look, it's Steven Seagal.
Why was this movie so hard to follow?
haha same!
John Pero I know right
it wasn't at all
You don’t have to follow it. It’s just a series of scenes strung together.
Gotta understand the essence of the dialectic
sexy
👍👏😅❤
Das Kapital kaput.. the irony of their greed and giving to the cause only to be squandered,& A "Collective" Gasp.....
Lembram muito os artistas petistas no Brasil. KKK
For the movie to use such revolutionary music is disrespectful
Kalinka is folk song and Warszawianka was written way before revolution
That's the point. Because it is ridiculous
