  • Have you heard about the boy who fell down the olde abandoned well? Poor little fella was just trying to get water for the village. At least he has the olde abandoned hot tub to help pass the time. Junior correspondent Dave Willis joins us to talk about his grandmother's incredible cameo, Phil Samson gives us a rough cut of the episode to dissect, and Bob Pettitt tells us about Aqua Teen beer. All this and MORE! (I mean, you'd really hope there's more than that, considering the podcast episode is over two hours long.) Other topics discussed include Madonna staying relevant in the aughts, the state of Adult Swim's lineup in 2005, the underappreciation of the Harlem Globetrotters, and how I had to turn off Videodrome cuz I'm a sensitive man.

You can tell by the sound effect that it’s a hydraulic elevator, which of course makes sense because it doesn’t have a room above the top accessible floor containing all the mechanical works required for normal elevators that have more than a few floors to travel. Verisimilitude and attention to detail - that’s ATHF.

What a strong ass episode; It's a great mix of really snappy dialogue, a compact linear story that isn't overly bloated, fun character banter and perfect payoffs.
I find it interesting how Master Shake & Meatwads relationship is in this season (and future seasons); previous seasons had one shit talk the other (behind the others back) or one is controlling/manipulating each other.
While in this season they're more like two stupid brothers; in this episode they're douchebags to each other, but in later episodes they're more friendly with each other like in Hand Banana, Bart Oates, Carl wash etc.
Also, I found the writing structure of this episode reminded me of a Harvey Birdman Attorney of Law; they're a lot of weird elements that are gradually introduced and they're a tone of callbacks either to previous episodes or early on in this episode.
Overall, it's a diamond in the rough and deserves a more attention. I'll give it a 5/5 naked old woman.

Great observation on the relationship between Shake and Meatwad, I've noticed that as well in season 4. Carl is also much friendlier with them than previous seasons

My favorite George appearances have to be in Antenna and Allen Pt. 2 The king slumlord of Lakeland Florida.

"God only makes the people He hates gay."
Sounds like Meatwad's been hanging around Moralton a bit too much.
Also it's funny you mention the Harlem Globetrotters, as a few episodes ago, you'd mentioned NASCAR 2005 (a game very important to me as it got me into my favorite sport). That game was actually how I'd first heard of the team, because of an alternate paint scheme used by driver Scott Riggs in 2004.

I feel like maybe they're more making fun of people who acted like that and had those opinions about gay people at the time. Like, more so making fun of that stigma people had rather than making fun of people being gay. That's why it might not make sense to hear Frylock say that stuff.

That's a good way of looking at it-- I'm used to them using Carl and Shake like that so I guess it was a surprise to hear Frylock, typically the smart one/voice of reason, say some dumb shit like that.

@@AquaTeenPodit’s supposed to catch you off guard because Frylock is the stereotypical Progressive character of the bunch, and is very open-minded to the Gays (or you would come to believe).
That’s all it is, and if you didn’t catch it on the first viewing (or since), then most of the jokes, innuendos, contemporary matters (at the time), and Pop Culture references must go right over your head.
