Your on the right track. About time someone focused on the joint and the movement you demonstrated. I’ve been looking for years to see this type of treatment. 👍🏾

Great video! My only question is, since you suspected a SLAP Lesion, did you perform an Obrien's Test as well? If so, was that positive? Additionally, why was the patient so apprehensive during the anterior apprehension test since that test is commonly used to suggest instability or any previous dislocations/subluxations, not a SLAP Lesion?
I am in my last semester to become an athletic trainer and as I continue my clinical rotations I have started to notice that textbook pathologies are not always as they seem in real life patients! That being said, I really do appreciate you filming these experiences for those who are looking to learn more about these pathologies and how they present clinically. Thank you for your channel!

Same, pain/instability when shoulder goes anterior or reaching across to other shoulder or behind my back and reach towards scapula, and reaching high over head near my head with any weight.
Nothing bicep related because I can curl 35 lbs or hold anything in a bicep curl position.
Almost 2 months now and kinda stumped.

Do you recommend an MRA for a labrum tear or will mri do just fine

That’s a great question! The MRA is much more sensitive than regular MRI.

I don't understand why some PT's just send someone off to get imaging and ortho consult. Obviously she has shoulder disfunction that can be treated, so put together a program to get the shoulder stabilized. The SLAP tear is a condition to an underlying issue, so fix the issue.

Would supplementing HGH be beneficial when it comes to recovery if it's not a full tear?

@@mikefreeman6799 same here, in 2020 oct I had slap lesion, labrum tear and it was so much pain while workout out.
Currently less pain but unstable and more pain while lifting, it's like pressure is coming on joint and it will tear.
So thinking for surgery at last.
I have partial labrum tear and what about you ?

Nope wrong HGH main cause of tendon and labrum tears cause they doesn’t grow the way muscles do then you put a lot of pressure on them

I have an MRI , doctors said I should have a surgery and other said have a physiotherapy
I did a physiotherapy for 6 months but the pain is still there

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  2 роки тому

If it didn't get better in 6 months it probably won't on it's own. You may require surgery.

perhaps a biceps load test would also be useful, but you've got plenty positives already

SLAP tears don't heal themselves. Some can get away from not having surgery. I'd recommend avoiding extremes of motion. Most can keep strengthening in the comfortable range.
