#fold4 #samsungfold4 #foldingphones - Наука та технологія
I think this is the future..I've got the Fold 4 and I don't think I would go back to the candy bar..This is a candy and so much more..Why would you..? I no longer have to cart my big tablet around with me anymore, as this does the job perfectly..I'm excited to see where Samsung takes these folding phones in the future..They can only get better..So many people have asked, "What's that phone and where can I get one..? " They're fascinated..It's a great talking point at the moment..😊
That's how I sold it to myself to Amaryllis.
I had plans to buy a phone and then get a new tablet this year, but I was able to justify paying more for the fold4 as it is essentially a hybrid device that does everything I need.
I got the beige version a few weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it. It's beautiful inside and out. I love everything about this phone. I can never go back to a regular phone again. Great review BTW. Thank you.
You're welcome Danielle.
I need to publish some other videos about it as it's been a few months since I've covered. I'm still enjoying it. 👍
Z FOLD 3 owner, LOVE IT!
I was actually tempted by the fold3 as I believe they've rolled out the same software UI updates to that model. There's some good deals on it.
I used Nova Launcher on the Pixel phones, but now I'm trying to stick with the Samsung launcher with the extra features for the Fold4.
I was watching your video on my Fold4 on the cover screen in landscape mode with the same case and the same color you have.
No, I agree with you, I don't think I can go back to a normal phone after using the Fold4. It is so easy to read a book on the main screen or view a web page like you would see it on a computer. The screen might be a little smaller in width on the cover screen but that is also nice it is easier to do everything one-handed on that screen. Then when needed unfold it for a real full-screen view whether it be for images, web pages, a good book, or multitasking.
Yeah same situation as me. I was tempted to continue using Microsoft launcher, but I wanted access to all features too.
Have you found yourself using the pen a lot?
@Kevin Muldoon I tend to grab the pen while on the cover screen. I know it doesn't work there but I have started to use it there a few times then of course I have to unfold it.
Normally I might grab the pen to magnify something that I can't zoom into anymore. Or maybe grab a section of a web page instead of a whole screenshot. I did love the pen features on the Note 2 through 5 so hopefully I will do more with it as I get used to the phone. I screwed around in the penup app just coloring in a premade picture using the auto fill method with the pen (I only selected the colors). Then I accidently posted it and now like 15 people saved it to their favorites, and one person is following me on the app.
That's cool. I've been using it without the pen, but going to make a point or using it this week to see how useful I find it.
@Kevin Muldoon I used to use it for quick notes on the Note series but then you just took the pen out and double tap on the screen. That's when having the cover screen being spen friendly would help. Look at some UA-cam spen tips and tricks out might help you find a place for the pen to come in handy.
Yeah I would have loved to have seen pen support for the front screen. I definitely need to look at some tips and tricks videos.
So far I'm loving the fold it truly does keep a smile on my face compared to any other phone I've had.
I feel the same way. Perhaps I'm still in the honeymoon stage, but I've been really enjoying how versatile it is.
@@KevinMuldoon yeah I recently went to get a new one because it had developed a large dead pixel in the flex display. But apart from that I honestly had so much fun with it. It just feels so good in your hands. It does have some cons with the resolutions and finding wallpapers that fit but honestly almost everything seems to work with full screen apps and it's a joy having it. People's reactions when I open it are worth every penny.
So did Samsung give you a replacement when you discovered the dead pixel?
@@KevinMuldoon yeah they was going to replace the screen but then they spoke with a manager and just exchanged it for a new one since its under warranty. I didn't have to use any Samsung care or anything Overall I was loving the phone and unboxing a new one was fun all over again. I'm sure there will be some pros and cons with this phone but it truly feels like a whole different ball game, I will never go back to a regular phone.
That's pretty great they gave you a new phone.
I'm still tweaking the phone to optimise how I use it. Keen to see how Samsung evolves the software.
How do you have 8 apps on each row when unfolded?
Check the settings available in Home Screen.👍
I still got my note 9 and I too use the side bar always and multi window - find it very useful for checking and using things like word and notes or catching up on reddit, youtube etc.. I'm looking to get a Galaxy Fold Z for the extra space and been enjoying your reviews. Can your next vid be a real daily use and how you find it using outside, travelling, work etcand hows the battery use plus how easy or not it is for every day use? eg comfort in pocket, using pen on all of the screen (as I seen someone say the fold can be felt by the pen nib and causes it not to write correctly there.) I doubt that but am interested to know .. As I use my pen allot and also I use Dex quite a bit when away from home pc.. How good is it for that etc like in mirror cast and also tethered. through a cable.. Many thanks and keep up the great work.
Battery life seems good so far. I've just switched on AccuBattery to give me a better picture of how battery life is, but I've generally been impressed. I normally get over a day with heavy usage. Obviously, there's a lot of factors to consider, such as the fact I enables battery saver mode and I'm only charging to 85%.
I'm going to do a video about the pen case. I'll try and do a video about using the pen at one point too. The pen only works in tablet mode.
I've not been using the pen much, but will make an effort before doing a video about it.
Comfort in pocket? It's not that much bulky than a regular phone, but I do notice it being bigger when the pen is attached too. Which is one reason why I haven't been using it.
Kevin
I forgot to add. I am keen to do a video about using the dex too, but it may be a few weeks as my schedule is full and I have other things to do videos on too.
@@KevinMuldoon Many thanks, you answered all my points and questions I had, Made me even happier to pull the trigger and get one ! Thank you. And look for ward to the future vids..
Thanks Cozy. So have you ordered one? If so, which version did you get?
I have 3 screens. One small for the front-door camera, one small showing the value of my crypto wallet and a large one for YT, Twitter, FB or any other app.
Do you ever use the floating window? I find it annoying.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the future . I am very pleased with everything. The only thing I would add is a beaming virtual laser keyboard when entering lots of text. Yes I have several Bluetooth keyboards, however it just something futuristic about a device that stands alone and does everything ( smile).
The Motorola Z4?
@@KevinMuldoon I was hesitant to write "Z4" . I updated it ( ha ha ha)
AHH I thought that at first and then flipped and assumed you meant the Moto Z4. 🤣
I'd actually love a physical keyboard to be integrated somehow as I find typing in tablet mode to be a pain.
The beauty of your money folding away from your pocket.
Hahaha so true! 🤣🤣🤣
It makes no sense for them making 3 the limit like why can't we do 4 split screen if we can do 2 on one side it's ridiculous not being about to do 2 on both side. Hopefully they will add 4 app spit screen support soon.
I agree. I'm not sure why that limitation was introduced.
@@KevinMuldoon exactly like if it was 3 apps sides by side it would make such more sense but when it's in the grid form it should be 2×2 rather than 2+1 or 1+2 max. The limitation with Samsung dex pisses me off even more because it's just a windows launcher with the ability to open more than 5 apps pip and spit screen is so bad on samsung dex as well as the taskbar. Spit screen and taskbar features are supposed to be improved on dex but android 12L is much better. Asides from adding wireless dex support to TV and PC they haven't done anything with dex besides killing Linux support from Samsung dex with Android 10. Samsung just wants to play lazy add a powerful feature and make it obsolete and remove it, Samsung dex is pretty much obsolete its more of a chrome book. One ui 5 brings 2 small change to samsung dex the search bar to apps on taskbar and a mini calender app so now it won't take up a large portion of the screen when accessing calender via taskbar. Hopefully they will add Linux support back and allow us to install some windows licensed software on our tablets via Microsoft acc and games like CS GO which flagship mobile devices can handle as it's not an extreme graphic game or games like cross out PC person. Samsung dex is pretty much a gimmick and samsungs dumb version of windows launcher because I can get 3ʳᵈ party windows launcher from play store which gives more functionality than samsung dex. Samsung dex isn't as special as many tech reviewer make it sound like. And when they say s22 ultra is a pocket computer even if dex gave us PC versatility that u can't do on normal mobile device why tf would anyone use samsung dex on their PC when they already have a PC which is better than samsung dex.
I'll need to play around with Dex. I've seen a ton of videos on it, but not used it yet myself.
My expectations for it are low though. I mean, it's not going to replace my laptop. I do like the idea of just having one device that does everything, but I'm not sure it works that well in practice.
I love my fold 3. Until it broke two weeks out of warranty. The inner spring started to crack in the middle. And then the pixel started to burn out. I will never buy another folding phone. Until they are perfected.
Because I love my watch5. I still stay with Samsung and bought the s22 ultra.
Samsung should extend the warranty to all the fold owners. Or put a warning on it to not to open and close or more than 50 times a day, like I did.
Oh man that's gutting. It's a year warranty, isn't it?
I do agree that the warranty should be longer given they're still perfecting this form factor.
@@KevinMuldoon Loved phone. Owned the Fold 2 and inner screen cracked. Traded it in for the Fold 3. Guess what, it did the same thing. But worse, the fold 2 didn't loose pixels. Now I own the s22 ultra. Love it but it's a little bit hard using the small screen. And iam only $1,670 loss. That's a hundred and fifty a month loss. Now AT&T gave me $800 trade in 36 months. The paper work said like $340 ( I believe) value. It's too large price to pay for something that will not last.
@@KevinMuldoon Yes, it's not perfected. My $1700 loss in 54 weeks. A whole 2 weeks out of warranty.
Oh man. That's gutting. I'm sorry to hear that. Are there any companies that can repair it?
It sounds like you've had terrible luck with the fold phones. Those trade in prices are terrible.
