    Thanks for the video!
The shift lever can be moved up a couple of notches as needed to fit your boot.
It does not have to stay the way you put it on.
    Try it and report back.
Lock the bolt only after you’re happy with the final position.
    Cheers
    BB

Thanks for the feedback! My KLR is currently in the shop for the fuel pump recall. When I get it back, I’m adding lowered peg mounts. I hope that will lower the pegs and therefore allow the lever to sit higher.
A new video will be coming soon

I keep my chain coated in wd40, never any issue with rust. I do use gear lube to give her a good lube. When she gets fairly dirty after riding dirt roads, I bring her in, spray some purple power on the chain and most of the rear where dirt n debris seems to build up, don't let it sit long and immediately foam bomb pretty much the whole bike, then power wash the whole bike (low pressure) and gently hand wash the nice surfaces an a little more intense hand washing in the tuff areas like under rear fender and all up around the swing arm then I give her a nice rinse, then coat the chain sprockets, wheels, pretty much everything except the plastic and seat with wd40 Making sure to get some wd on any electronics or switches to help disperse any water. After she has set for maybe 5-10 minutes even longer if you like, I give her a quick rinse to get some of the wd off, but leaving some, as it is great at rust n corrosion protection and helps disperse any moisture. then I give her a nice long blow dry until it is basically dry. this gives a nice spot free shine and you still have a small coating of wd on all the metal. I don't wash hardly any of it off the chain and she looks like new. I may take a rag and give the chain a nice rub down while spinning the rear wheel (using center stand). I may gently wipe things down to give her that finishing touch. once done I lube the chain with gear lube and she looks like new and the chain rolls like butter! I do use a gently brush on the chain to help clean it, but even if I don't wash the bike, I always brush the chain, soak it in wd and she stays mint. Like the pegs n shifer!

I’ll have to try the wd40. I think I’m putting too much lube on mine and extra debris is sticking to the chain. Thanks for the comment too.

Did you use the spring on the foot pegs

Yes. I did. The stock mounting brackets were so snug to the pegs that they didn’t snap back. But I then installed the lowered mounting brackets to lower the pegs. They snap back into place now with the lowered brackets. So maybe the aftermarket ones have a wider space for the pegs?
