    The amount of frustration and profanity you just prevented cannot be measured. Thank you!

    Fantastic. The 4" does not work with the 4" Kohler toilet. That was fun to learn after four attempts to stop the leaking

    How do I adjust the flapper to stay open longer to get a more complete flush? Which number holds the flapper open longer, larger or smaller number? The fill level is adjusted by the fill valve isn't it? How complete the flush by the flapper isn't it? The simple instructions would be higher or lower number for more or less flush. What am I missing here?

      This is an easy fix, let us help you. We recommend turning the white band to the higher numbers located on the underside of the flapper (closing off the holes and allowing the flapper to float longer). Additionally, please make sure the flapper chain is going as straight up and down as possible from the flush lever and has minimal slack. Let us know if you need additional help.

    Looking at this I fail to see how rotating this band actually does anything the diameter does not change when rotating.

    When you turn the water supply off and flush the tank does not fill up.

    • @KorkyToiletRepair
      @KorkyToiletRepair  8 років тому +2

      That is correct! We encourage you to turn off the water supply while installing any products. This will help you avoid any unwanted showers during your installs. Once the product is installed, the water supply can be turned back on.

      The flapper is probably leaking , check it by putting a couple drops of food dye if in the tank if it seeps into the bowl it should be replaced.

    the original one that needs replacing doesn't just snap off as in the video. It seems to be bolted on. Now what?

    How do I shorten the chain? I flopper will not open

    • @mikesmith5683

      Move the hook down the chain until it's the right length!

    • @KorkyToiletRepair
      @KorkyToiletRepair  2 роки тому

      There is a hook on the end of the chain that connects to your toilet lever arm. You can disconnect the hook from the chain, move down towards the flapper, then reconnect the hook to the chain and lever arm.

    I fail to see any reason to know why a toilet flapper needs to be so complicated to install, it used to be in Captain Obvious territory, now I need a slide rule and a dial that for some reason doesn't change much from a visual standpoint, no matter where you raotate the band, it remains the same thickness and diameter for closing upon a toilet, none of which fit the toilet with a seemingly standard 3" flapper. Back in my day toilets were simple, now I need a phone app to install a flapper. Kudos to the engineer that designed this, he got my money, I ceremoniously burned this never to return to Korky products again..

      We're sorry to hear about your experience. The purpose of the band is to control the amount of water that is flushed from the tank. If we can be of any assistance, we would be happy to help. Feel free to contact us at 262-763-2434 or by email at Sales@Lavelle.com. We are available M-F, 7:30am-5:00pm CST.
