I'm a coach and want to learn this for fun.. just curious if you should learn to juggle with smaller balls first? Or just start with basketballs straight away even if brand new to juggling.
Great question! In my experience, I feel like it was much easier to start with smaller balls (even better: bean bags since they don't bounce everywhere when dropped). Part of that is because it's hard to handle so many basketballs at once that it might interfere with being able to pick up on the juggling pattern. It was really easy for me to pick up on the technique for the basketballs since I already knew the 3-ball cascade (juggling) so well. I'd love to know how it goes for you as you learn!
