I appreciate Lovett's rant but for me my complaint is more about dehumanization than power imbalances, and the conversion of an ostensibly creative platform(TikTok) to something soulless. I feel like this also ties into ChatGPT which can create new, "creative" stories by analyzing patterns in archives of written material, even though ChatGPT is basically a calculator. So ChatGPT, a calculator, is more creative than many of us. Either way, there's something philosophically creepy going on, and I want to go back to the times when these questions were more abstract and distant, so you could ignore them.
Lovett describing literally everything humans have ever done: One person did something then a bunch of people copied them. It's hardly new, it's called fashion.

It's the ugy side of being an imperfect social animal. Look at social insects, they have rigid roles and castes and all that, you need that in order to benefit the group, otherwise individuals will compete within their own species and damage the good of the whole.
I'm trans at home and in the closet while traveling. Sad state of affairs, but I'd rather be upset and dysphoric than thrown in jail or assaulted. And I got plenty of trans pals who can't pull off the closet anymore, I know I'm privileged.
That sucks, I'm really sorry you can't be your authentic self while out in public. It makes no sense to me that people are so upset about how a person chooses to express themselves. I hope one day you will be able to feel safe to be yourself.
