The last IHOP I went to was in Ft. Wayne, IN where I ordered two egss over easy and two sausage llinks and toast. The eggs were the size of a pidgeon, and the sausage links were half my pinky finger. 95% of the plate was still visible with hardly any food you'd think a squirrel ordered a couple peanuts. Portion control killed my relationship w/ them. Years ago I lived in Rhode Island and you could order a lobster sandwich at IHOP and get a very nice meal. We don't go there anymore.
Yes, it has literally been years and years since i have eaten at a chain restaurant. I always eat at local, independent restaurants with a local history and local connections. Why? Because corporations have huge overheads and are constantly cost cutting by cutting the quality of what they put on the plate and by suppressing the wages of employees which makes them unhappy and hinders their service to the customer. I used to work at one of those huge corporations (food manufacturer) and, I kid you not, every year we were put under huge pressure to cut costs....which inevitably meant that the quality of the food we sold every year went down. The older I get the more I HATE corporations!
Blakehole. So you eat local for political reasons huh? I get that, but I eat at local joints because the food's better and cheaper. Sticking it to the man is just an added benefit.
R. Blakehole FUCK TOU. I WANT TO PERSONALLY WATCH YOUR BLOID RUN RIVERS THROUGH THE STREET. I don’t care if staff are suppressed or have no rights. I just want food. And supporting you locals is gay because they will never expand and become what I want. A CORPORATION. This generation and yours are all fucken hippies. Man up and stop being so political. Your over thinking it. Pay for the god damn food and enjoy it bitch.
I don’t generally eat at causal dining chains, but you seem to think that corporations have greater expenses than Mom and Pop shops. Often the opposite is true. It’s called an economy of scale. Up to a certain size, businesses will actually be able to operate more frugally and efficiently the bigger they are. That’s not to say that mom and pop shops can’t be better in their own ways, but as an accounting major whose been through economics classes as well, big corporations tend to be have an easier time financially.
I don't like corporate restaurants because they're over priced and the food sucks. Besides, breakfast is so easy, cheap and delicious to make at home why overpay.
Full menu American breakfast is NOT easy to make! Maybe your confusing Poptarts in the toaster with cooking. Can you make pancakes, bacon, hash browns and scrambled all on a small home cooktop, and have it ready all in a 1 minute window?
@@jimmydoresspittle8160 Actually, I can and rather easily. The reality, though, is that this is far too many carbs to have in one sitting I prefer to make one of these at a time. BTW, bacon is best made in the oven, one pan for the pancakes, another for the hash browns and when either is done the eggs go on that pan and are done in under a minute. If you want to crank out larger quantities of pancakes and hash browns an electric griddle is just the thing. When we make waffles we usually make a double batch and freeze the leftovers to throw in the toaster later in the week. When you learn how to cook really well from scratch, nothing is off limits, NOTHING. The best part is that unlike a restaurant all the food is hot and it's always perfectly done...it's child's play.
Your paying for the labor not the food. Food is cheap as peanuts but once you factor in the costs of ACTUALLY running a place it will make sense that $30 for a 45 minutes meal does kinda make sense.
Lucas Cady you said it!! A box of pancakes ain't/isn't that hard to make!? Jus add water & cook some eggs & bacon/sausage & even heat some store bought frozen biscuits now?! Its called a franchise, if the company goes under they all go under because the company is the one sending out supplies and if they dont make profits they dont stay in business
My family and I went to a ihop in Huber heights ohio.we waited 30 minutes to get seated. The table was dirty and there were several flys buzzing around plus it was very noisy. Needless to say we didn’t stay
We heard the kitchen staff laughing loudly and goofing around and Not working. We waited forever for our order and they were too busy having a party to be bothered with the entire restaurants request for breakfast.
I ate there this morning, and ordered waffles. They arrived cold, so I sent them back. They brought more and they were stiff, not soft. The butter was very cold and unspreadable. The bill was 11.xx, which included 1 cup of coffee and 2 strips of bacon! I spoke with the manager, and she admitted the price of waffles was to high, but nothing she could do. I told her I would NOT be back!
I've noticed that some of the ihops in my area aren't 24/7 like they used to be. Whenever I drive by a Denny's, they always have way more cars parked there than ihop. I think ihop is not doing anything to compete with Denny's. They don't have a value menu like Denny's or Chili's has.
Had the chicken fried steak. It was like the stuff from the school menu. You could really taste the gristle! Sides were 2 brocolli florets. Not 2 servings , 2 actual pieces of brocolli and a amall ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes. So instant you could taste the box! All for just over $11. If they go under, I sure won't miss them. ABSOLUTE CRUD!!😠😠
I tried one of Ihob's burgers because it came with unlimited fries, but as tempting as that offer is the food was mediocre and I won't be back. As for pancakes, you can buy a $1 box of mix at the grocery store and make your own. It won't look or taste any worse than the presentation at Ihob.
Good. Went there with a 2 for 1 coupon around 3 years ago. Coupon said not valid on holidays. Went on a Friday, Saturday was Veteran's Day. Was told I could NOT use the coupon because the Friday was considered "their" recognized holiday according to their "calendar in the back". Went back and forth with management and ended up NOT allowed to use the coupon and I asked to see "their" calendar. Nope......wouldn't do that either. That is the LAST TIME I ever set foot in that garbage hole. Hope they all fold.
The last 2 times I went to IHop I walked out before finishing the meals. One location poured coffee that had oily residue floating in it, rainbow swirls and all. Another location served stuffed French toast that was flat, cold and soggy, inedible and nasty. I suspect the drop in quality and standards have something to do with closures.
Cause their customer service sucks. My boyfriend and I went there in June of last year and it took two hours just to get our food. Absolutely ridiculous.
Damn shame, I went with my family to eat breakfast there from time to time. I liked being able to face them and chat with them instead of everyone being in their different rooms with screens in their face. The same reason why I like Denny's too. I hope the option to eat out as a family and interact with one another won't disappear.
I have an IHOP right near me and my wife and I go there a lot to eat dinner or to get some breakfast, because she doesn't feel like cooking that night. It is one of the busiest locations on the weekend or like Mother's day, you have a wait time of about 30-45 minutes to get a seat. We will continue to go there.
Ihop is my last choice for breakfast/ dinner food. Their pancakes are overpriced ( 3 regular pancake is like $6+) and taste is average at best. Other menu items are also overpriced compared with their competition and the people working there are not exactly "friendly". If the food is good/special i wouldn't mind paying more but its not. Everything Ihop serves you can literally cook yourself for way cheaper. I rather go to my neighborhood dinner, similar prices, better food and service.
Me and my mom used to love going to IHOP, but the higher prices never seemed to stop going up. While portions got smaller. Not worth the prices. We can get better and much cheaper elsewhere.
Everytime I have been in an IHOP the restaurant is almost empty. And that would be during the hours when it would be crowded anywhere else. And their service is still slow and substandard.
I-Hop really is not that bad as a lot of comments on here seem to make it. The cost of going out is increasing, leaving more people to make food at home. A meal at one of these types of restaurants will cost about $15+ per person. The cost of making food at home for 4 people can cost around $5+ depending on how one shops.
These videos are always strange to me, I'm not saying there are no problems with IHOP, but their stock is selling at $78.57 as of 1-10-19. But yet this video makes it seem like IHOP would be closing overnight. The company, which also owns Applebees, did around $681.1 million in revenue and has a market cap of $1.3 Billion. Now, this took me about 5mn to research but overall this is a very healthy company financially, which makes this video misleading.
Not to mention-they’re stealing their customer’s money. Twice my friend and I didn’t get our full cash back after paying our bills. Won’t be going back. -IHOP, Cold Spring KY 🇺🇸
They have shit service. Like every IHOP I've been too the staff is just lazy af. Its annoying. This can occur also when its only 4 diners in the entire restaurant!
Make your own breakfast, it’s cheaper and is much more healthy, I cook all my own meals now, have not eatin out for over a year, cheaper and way better make it the way you want, if I want Chinese I cook Chinese, if I want Mexican I cook Mexican etc, the only way to go nowadays, plus you will find out you won’t get sick nearly as much with the common colds n flu
The IHOP near my house is the best restaurant in town by far!! The restaurant is very clean, not overcrowded, the music is great, service is prompt and attentive, and the food is very well made!! I am very picky! And the burgers, I don't know of a better one anywhere! And trust me I am a hunter of good burgers!!
If you can't eat a eat what you want breakfast because of carbs,What do you eat the other 6 days a week for breakfast? Tofu, bean curds? My Dr. told me I'm diabetic and he said I can and should splurge 1 day a week. And I have lost 80 lbs in 10 months with No exercise. You just can't eat 20 pancakes in one setting.
I went to the local Ihop a couple years ago for a late dinner. I found people waiting in line but no one was seated in the restaurant at all. No one customer at a table. The waiting customers told me that they'd been there for about fifteen minutes and had seen people walking around but no one came to the hostess station. I waited with them for another ten minutes and we all left. I'd eaten at other Ihops around the country before this event and never had an experience like that. I haven't been back since.
How about Cleanliness? Every Ihop i've been to smells like Urine, they don't emphasize cleanliness very much. I do however like their pancakes, just can't endure the smell, so I haven't visited one in 2 years.
I kid you not one IHOP I’ve been to in NYC my waiter had sweat rolling down his forehead and it almost dripped in the drink he served me. That was my breaking point I had to leave with my date I just couldn’t eat there. It was bad enough the place stink and the customer service was mediocre.
They aren't consistent - I've been to a few nice IHOPS, and absolutely terrible disgusting ones. There's one near me I never go to simply because the layout is like a damn train car, there's like zero width in there and all the waiters bump into each other. I swear it's wide enough for 1 table and a small walking path.
My local ihop used to be 24 hours but now closes at 10pm. I always liked going there with friends but I usually never ordered a meal because I don't particularly like their food.
I don't think it has anything to deal with online ordering. I've noticed from being there at IHOP, the wait time to be seated is extremely long, and there service is terrible. I waited over 30 minutes to be seated for being just 1 person, and I left to go to a waffle house next door where I was seated immediately
I went to IHOP we didn’t even have a dedicated waiter it felt like an airplane with all the different flight attendants Nobody even talked to us while we were eating or checked up on us When we ordered the dude asked us what do you want The host was the nicest and he gets paid the least probably SAD
For example, TGI Fridays was in my local supermarket building and I would eat there about twice a month. 2 years ago, they moved into a high floor of a department store that has inconvenient parking. I've been there once, and that was only because I was treated to it. (Tainan City, Taiwan). Yes, the "casual dining" is dying, and it's dying quickly.
I don't go anymore because the food arrives cold. My only guess is that the cooks are not planning cooking times for the whole table. My girlfriend and her husband love it, to me cold food is just like a rude server.
You over-promote restaurants like Chipotle too much. Yet where do we liberals supposedly like to eat breakfast? Either I'm out of touch or y'all live in a bubble.
@Any One I was thinking I was the only one who hates Chipotle. I went one time and it was enough for me. Their food is HORRIBLE!!!! I don't understand the hype. I prefer Taco Bell over Chipotle any day. I would even choose Del Taco over Chipotle.
I was a trucker and for a while I had a route that had me starting at 3 in the morning on Saturday and Sunday ( I was hauling acid) . Anyway the day was tight so being able to stop and eat was not an option. SO I would have breakfast at IHOP. The upside was living in a city the entertainment at that time in the morning was free. and boy some days it was good. the staff got to know me and what my job was. So service was pretty good, and I had my table in the "quite" section with good views of the entire entertainment area. But all good things come to an end they redid the building. putting in those cubicle seating ruined the whole place.
@Agent J discretion is a right of the consumer personally people who don't like GMOs would die if they knew how genetic modifications have improved food.
We have never been that impressed with IHOP over our 45 years together, finding the product of poor quality if voluminous. Our most recent visit in Niagara Falls a couple of years back for breakfast was both disappointing and relative expensive. We found a local breakfast bar that was exceptional at less than half the price. We only went to the IHOP because family were staying at an attached hotel (we were in a local RV park) so convenience clouded our past experience. Having had a refresh, we have not been tempted in subsequent gatherings - especially having found a superb alternative.
Here's why. They want an arm and a leg for some of it. But it's not worth that. Or the chefs in the back skimp on the presentation. Those pancakes suck. And the last time I went I ordered their hot chocolate and they refused to bring it in the big cup bringing it out in their coffee cup. Telling me that every other time it was served wrong. Fuck ihop
In Southern California, all coffee shops and 24 hour are closing because the real estate is being redeveloped. Chase Bank has taken over no less than 4 in my local area and made them into bank branches.
I used to go there and pay 2.50 for thermas of coffee and drink all night. It's a great place to study or hang out with friends. It's one if the few places that are open all night. As long as you tip your waiter more then the coffee you get great service
The last time I went, the pancakes were smaller and the hashbrowns were put on a tiny plate instead of medium sized plate. And they raised the prices too... And they're not as good anymore, lower quality ingredients I guess.
At the IHOP in Kingman, Az., I wanted steak and eggs with toast and hashbrowns. The waitress, (They're all 100,) told me they could exchange the pan cakes for toast, (Like it was a big problem,) but if I wanted hashbrowns they would have to charge me extra. I went to Denny's.
It's noticeable in Logan, Utah that pretty much the only customers the IHOP gets are "out of town" travelers that don't know better. Angie's located on just down the street a few blocks is extremely busy all the time. They have a sign in front of the restaurant that says "Where the locals eat", and that's a fact.
I've never eaten at IHOP. I live in AK and don't have chain stores here so I tried IHOP in Kona, HI recently. My GF and I were shocked at the prices and politely left without ordering. Local cafe had huge breakfast for $5 each...free coffee too
I don't mind IHOP when I'm out of town or someplace unfamiliar. I'm not generally a big breakfast person/carb person/or sweets person, but when you're in a strange city it helps if there's a chain like IHOP nearby because you know what you're going to get and what your options will be before you walk through the doors. 🤷♀️
Honestly, I've never had a bad experience with Ihop and I've always loved the pancakes. I guess it really depends on the location and staff. But I really do think they hurt their image with that awful ihob drama. People were not having it, even I was disappointed and had no intention of going back because I only go there for breakfast and to try out the new pancakes they come up with.
I still LOVE the pancakes at IHOP. Our local IHOP restaurant is only a few years old, very clean, and has an awesome waitstaff! But I know that others have ruined it for the brand 😕 Recently they’ve introduced “All You Can Eat Pancakes” when you order a full stack or as a side, like with the omelettes, breakfasts, etc. (and it’s not just a promotion like they do every so often).
Visited new one in Cold Spring Ky 🇺🇸 and my friend and I both were taken when they didn’t give us our correct change back after paying our bills. I’m a great tipper too. We won’t be returning. Totally unacceptable-unethical! Stealing from their customers. Shame on them. 😤
Here's the thing. When I think about IHOP I also think Denny's and am I going to go to IHOP and pay twice as much for their version of the grand slam? God bless everyone.
What's your take on IHOP's disappearing stores?
Mashed this is why Mashed is becoming irrelevant on the Internet
IHOP's pretty good I think disappearing would be bad cuz they have pancakes I think they should have change there name to ihope because hope can start a revolution, a pancake revolution.
ofaas There’s actually an Ihope in Captain Underpants last book! It says IHOPE: I hope the food doesn’t kill me!
None of mine near me are disappearing? Mines super popular still
IHOP is leaving because it’s being replaced by IHOB

@@alexanderosuhor1870 Youre joking right? i dont think ive ever heard a sheep bleat so loud.
Idk, small businesses seem to be closing left and right in my area 🤷🏽♀️
I dont even have the ingredients to make those and no one in my family knows how to cook. I guess were going to ihop
$30 breakfast for 2 ruined it for me... Way to much for Flippin Pancakes!
Your paying for the labor not the food. Food is cheap as peanuts but once you factor in the costs of ACTUALLY running a place it will make sense that $30 for a 45 minutes meal does kinda make sense.
@J. C. T-Bones a'plenty!
@J. C. I agree
Lucas Cady you said it!!
A box of pancakes ain't/isn't that hard to make!? Jus add water & cook some eggs & bacon/sausage & even heat some store bought frozen biscuits now?!
Middle class was able to spend freely but now these moron CEO's jacking up the system!!!
If I wasn't single I'd cook more at home !
Cost too much for a family to eat out frequently!!!
It's like for special occasions now!?

As long as they don’t close my local ihop im good💯😩 they’re food is always so good

Huber Heights is my hometown. Been to the Beavercreek ihop and I hated the food.
The noise is the only thing I can consider excusing them for. That may well fall on the other custoners
Last time i went to ihop was to treat myself and 3 others. Paid $74 dollars and everything was just the worst. Never had food cooked so badly.
We heard the kitchen staff laughing loudly and goofing around and Not working. We waited forever for our order and they were too busy having a party to be bothered with the entire restaurants request for breakfast.
Was probably me
That happens at any restaurant that hires teenage kids.
That place sucks now
Local food places are better
My diner overcharges me for pancakes no thanks
Local restaurants are way better
They are disappearing because it is subpar food for too high a price. The end.
Cylon Toaster ur a moron
because I can put my own store bought frozen pancakes in the toaster at home
I love iHop. Used to go there with my father. They would play old-school music over the radio.
Good memories.
I tried one of Ihob's burgers because it came with unlimited fries, but as tempting as that offer is the food was mediocre and I won't be back. As for pancakes, you can buy a $1 box of mix at the grocery store and make your own. It won't look or taste any worse than the presentation at Ihob.
Considering an ihop just opened a block down from me I didn’t even think that they were loosing sales and stuff
That and their service completely sucks. The one in Davenport Iowa is a train wreck.
usngunr I would say that the one in Bellevue, NE is a lot better, but Davenport is near the eastern border of Iowa.
IHOP service around here sucks so I started making my own cinna-stack pancakes
Over $3 bucks for a cup of coffee and pancakes that are ALWAYS cold are the two main reasons I stopped going years ago.
All you can eat pancakes with bacon and eggs for 5.99. How can you beat that?
The last 2 times I went to IHop I walked out before finishing the meals. One location poured coffee that had oily residue floating in it, rainbow swirls and all. Another location served stuffed French toast that was flat, cold and soggy, inedible and nasty. I suspect the drop in quality and standards have something to do with closures.
IHOP blows. I don’t know who does their hiring, but they have direct access to the penitentiary parole board.
So true..
It’s their*
Solid Steak thanks ASS hole
snicker. good one.
they have to work somewhere. why not that dump?
Cause their customer service sucks. My boyfriend and I went there in June of last year and it took two hours just to get our food. Absolutely ridiculous.
Don’t forget the $3.50 “endless” cup of crappy watered down but somehow still bitter coffee.
7-11’s coffee puts these guys to shame.
Hughes Enterprises the coffee is not watered
Gigi vlachos` I don’t think you know what a good cup of coffee is then
Damn shame, I went with my family to eat breakfast there from time to time.
The last time I ate at
an IHOP the pancakes were inedible and the rest of my breakfast was just disgusting. That was 5 years ago.
Cause their booths smell like feet.!!!
Well duh ofc the booth smells like feet that's how you know you got a real booth
Me and my mom used to love going to IHOP, but the higher prices never seemed to stop going up. While portions got smaller. Not worth the prices. We can get better and much cheaper elsewhere.
We stopped going to iHOP because they changed the recipe of the pancakes. They now taste bad!!!
Bad bad bad!!!
Everytime I have been in an IHOP the restaurant is almost empty. And that would be during the hours when it would be crowded anywhere else. And their service is still slow and substandard.
Rather go to Denny's!
When I ate there one time I didn’t feel good after and threw up never eaten there since.
I just tried to eat breakfast at IHOP and I left because they were too crowded and The wait would be too long
They have shit service.

Where is your town? Barrow Alaska?
If you can't eat a eat what you want breakfast because of carbs,What do you eat the other 6 days a week for breakfast? Tofu, bean curds? My Dr. told me I'm diabetic and he said I can and should splurge 1 day a week. And I have lost 80 lbs in 10 months with No exercise. You just can't eat 20 pancakes in one setting.
IHOP REALLY SUCKS PERIOD. THEY DESERVE TO CLOSE DOWN THE BUSINESS.
I do however like their pancakes, just can't endure the smell, so I haven't visited one in 2 years.
they are over priced....they give you very little food and it's not good
I kid you not one IHOP I’ve been to in NYC my waiter had sweat rolling down his forehead and it almost dripped in the drink he served me.
Choose the omelettes at iHop every time if you’re on keto.
They put pankcake batter in the eggs.
Gabster I stopped eating their omelettes after I learned this from their ads --doubt I was alone
I don't think it has anything to deal with online ordering. I've noticed from being there at IHOP, the wait time to be seated is extremely long, and there service is terrible. I waited over 30 minutes to be seated for being just 1 person, and I left to go to a waffle house next door where I was seated immediately
IHOP, Denny's, sizzlers, chillis they're all mass produced chain crap!
SnozBerryQueen Chill. Denny’s is at least cheap af. Depending on what you get, you can get a full meal for less than $10 with tip included at Denny’s
I live in ny and i dont even have a dennys chilis and sizzler in my area.
It depends on where you live.
I barely eat at restaurants, i rather eat at home. Im tired of exploited employees and the high price of food.
You over-promote restaurants like Chipotle too much. Yet where do we liberals supposedly like to eat breakfast? Either I'm out of touch or y'all live in a bubble.
DJ Trankilo - agree. I thought Chipotle was over. I guess people like get sick and crying on the toilet for a few hours
DJ Trankilo Liberals suck, but I agree Chipotle isn't that great
@Any One I was thinking I was the only one who hates Chipotle. I went one time and it was enough for me. Their food is HORRIBLE!!!! I don't understand the hype. I prefer Taco Bell over Chipotle any day. I would even choose Del Taco over Chipotle.
chipotle is a joke on hipsters.
I eat breakfast at arby and chick fill a. Not to mention taco bell's breakfast menu.
I Love IHop
I’m Eating That Right Now
Michael Rodriguez Thanks for ruining my food
And now I know to never go there again. thanks for that first hand stuff
Idgaf I could go for an omelet
@@HeilRay .... nothing to enjoy at IHOP ..they have really gone down hill ...... we eat at Norms , you really get your money's worth ....

Fuck ihop
I guess they spit in your hot cocoa cause you whine like a bitch over cups
Bad service, bad food, and worst of all, overpriced.
just like taco beuno
But DQ is definitely coming back because he have one building near where I live and we already have 4 in the metro plex
In Southern California, all coffee shops and 24 hour are closing because the real estate is being redeveloped. Chase Bank has taken over no less than 4 in my local area and made them into bank branches.
This reminds me of the International House of Pancakes and Kentucky Fried Chicken, back when we were a poly-syllablic society.
They make a good pancake. And having multiple syrups is a plus. However after that there’s really not much at IHOP that’s worth it.
Their pancakes are fat and doughy. They took the ham steak off the menu which was the only reason I ever went there.
Sandra Camp I’m too poor for ihop. God bless you mrs Sandra. Hope they bring the ham steak back.
It's bc some of them be dirty and have terrible service.
Last time me and dad went to an IHOP, they never even served us our drinks despite waiting half an hour, so we left.
Could it also be the quality of there product or the fights between the midnight drunks
IHOP better not! They underrated af, and dieters don’t need to be going out to chain restaurants anyways. Make your own special food at home
Anahatacrown you gay fucken weight watching hippy
I've never eaten at IHOP. I live in AK and don't have chain stores here so I tried IHOP in Kona, HI recently. My GF and I were shocked at the prices and politely left without ordering. Local cafe had huge breakfast for $5 each...free coffee too
This video brought to you by IHOP!
I can make a better breakfast in 10 minutes for a fraction of the price why would I waste time and money at IHOP?
Cause not everyone has time to cook or cant make it.
I go there all the time honestly. Their omelets can't be beat. I am surprised to hear they are doing poorly honestly.
If I want great breakfast food I go to my local diner!
Yer so helpful. Thanks!
Here's the thing. When I think about IHOP I also think Denny's and am I going to go to IHOP and pay twice as much for their version of the grand slam?
God bless everyone.
