Those are cool 😎 I would de smog it and run an all mechanical quadrajet... Smooth and comfortable ride.

It would be a good car if it was in nice condition.

Those 4-doors were good cars for young families. Probably 169,000 miles. Reliability of those V-8s were good then. Liked the 80 model.

It was probably a good car before it rotted away.

Not correct, this is a 1981 model year vehicle, not a 1980 model year. 1981 is the first year for the 17-digit VIN numbers that we still use today. Jack Thompson Oldsmobile was located at 4040 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn, IL and appears to be gone now. They were around there at least through the 1980s.
We got the VIN, we win: 1G3 for US made Oldsmobile, A for manual seat belts, G for Cutlass, 69 for four door sedan, F for 4.3L (260 CID) V8 with two barrel, Oldsmobile produced, aka "Ultra Mini Pocket Rocket", aka "The Little Engine That Could", 7 is a check digit, B for the 1981 model year, D for Doraville, GA assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Doraville, GA plant operated from 1947 to 2008. The 260 V8 was unpowered but it ran, ran, ran, ran, ran, ran and ran forever.
No tag, can't brag, but this is code 48 Dark Green exterior paint.

I will update it. My Grandma had Oldsmobiles from Jack Thompson at least 3 that I remember.
