When I was stationed in Greece in the early 70s, I bought one of these used for $180. It hadn't run in 'forever' according to the previous owner, but after some tinkering, I got her goin.' I was pleasantly surprised. This little bugger would sh!t and git! What was really amazing was the bicycle sized rear sprocket. Perhaps that's why it would do 75 MPH+. Sold it before I came back home for $500 and it was running better than ever.

This model was my bike at age 16 in 1966. It also came as a scrambler version with an upswept exhaust pipe, etc. The one in the video looks in reasonably good shape although it’s missing the box that encloses the battery. Performance in the street was okay but with a top speed of only around 55 mph (the advertising claimed it could go 70). Many of us took our bikes into the dirt, scrambler or not. Since it was a 4-stroke you could just yank the muffler to improve performance (no expansion chamber required). The only problem was that the pipe ended in a funky cone-shaped funnel with a bunch of holes in it. I’m not sure what that was good for. But being experimental and not deterred I sawed the funnel off. So there was just a straight pipe. Suddenly my mild-mannered 125 turned into a total (loud) beast out-accelerating 160 cc bikes. Wish I still had it.

A good friend of ours owns a Piaggio dealership and has one of these in his showroom. I believe it’s a 67 model and is on loan from a customer.❤️🏍

Kick start on the left but you didn't show the controls. Is it crazy like my old CZ 175 Sport where the kick start lever is also the gear lever? Not a great idea, if it broke you could push start but that was no good because you couldn't change gear.

No. It's a normal kicker, not like the Jawa/CZ where the shifter reverses for the kicker

Awesome collection you have of unique bikes.
I would note Tatra of CZ has a hemi air cooled rear engine v8 car in 1938.
Jay Leno has one on his channel .
They were called "nazi killer s" so fast they crashed them.
VW stole copied Tatra design s then.
