You need to change the battery in your smoke detector.
I heard them all😂😂 Sorry about that
Came to see if I was the only one hearing that. I almost checked mine until I went outside and kept hearing it.
I was listening to this while I was in the shower and ran around looking for which one was beeping 😂
I thought that shit was mine 🤣🤣🤣
Lmao, I was looking for this comment.
Dude, i know it's close to april fools but you had me checking every smoke alarm in my house. Only to still hear them!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
Me, too! LOL
Same!
oh damn its this? i been trying to figure which of my thousand alarms it was (they require so many in this state now like one every room)
It's like a thing with black reactors... none of them seem to know how to buy and install 9v batteries.
There is a great Jodie Foster quote where she basically said she went to her first table read with Anthony Hopkins..and after it never wanted to see him again because she was scared shitless for real. Also Hopkins loved to go to the cinemas sitting behind people and at the right scene leaned over to give them the scare of their lifetime
ive also heard that too, about Hopkins at semi-random cinemas
My dad was in the FBI for twenty five years and said this is one of the more accurate depictions of the FBI that he’s seen. He loved this movie.
I wonder if they did actual FBI training in order to fulfill the role to its potential
@@deving9793Cape Fear 1991 with Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte.
*Did you enjoy my reaction?*
Check out the rest of the films, big dawg.
You'll get a better understanding of why Hannibal does what he does and see more of the lore when you do.
Loved it, Devin! Best reaction to this movie I've seen in a while. Love your energy!
Hannibal 2001, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising are the ones with Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal ... there are a cpl tv series that came out, both are surprisingly good, even without Anthony playing Hannibal ... you should check them out if yoy really enjoyed this movie and the Hannibal character. Enjoyed your reaction, as always.
Devin, I felt very entertained by your funny manerisms and comments.how do I say this ? If I took you to a theatre would security remove us or is this something you ........only do a home for you tube. ......You see I grew up in north Canada anong the Crackerville underground miners of Sudbury Ontario and believe me no one was allowed to make a sound.
Hannibal manipulated everyone so he could have the chance to escape. He knew the new place wouldn’t have adequate security.
The Silence of the Lambs mainly refers to the victims. They are being killed and silenced and skinned, just like the lambs in Clarices traumatic story. She is determined to save the victim, which will help her move forward in life. Hannibal wanted to know what made her so fearless and relentless to help victims. He got satisfaction in knowing why she was who she was.
And it was a matter of shared respect on a very unique level. Seeing the humanity that’s there regardless of the circumstances. The “silence of the lambs” reference is much more fully explained, obviously, in the book but the movie still succeeds in allowing the characters to be as they are.
Winner of 5 Oscars including Best Picture, making it the first and only horror thriller film to win.
I can see why! I heard the sequel is fantastic
@@deving9793 The sequel (Hannibal) is surprisingly good, especially considering they had to recast the Starling role.
@@deving9793Try Cape Fear with Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte .
Nobody ever notices it but the key to the whole relationship is very near the beginning of the first interview, when Clarrise identifies herself a a student, and says she there to learn from him. He's amused by the idea, sees she has some skills, but decides to dismiss her with a bit of aggression. But he could have been so much more nasty, both to her and her boss, whom he truly dislikes. He also doesn't try to put her in the middle of that ancient history. Fly away little Starling, fly, fly, fly.
A few moments later when she's stunned in shock and disgust, Dr Lector explodes with anger on her behalf, and gives her something to impress her teachers with. Now GO!! Had he wanted to kill her at any point further along in the story, he probably wouldn't have bothered with his role of mentoring her. Not that he wouldn't have killed her, had she been in his way. And still shows he doesn't blame her for the deceits of Jack Crawford.
My mom's in the hospital and I'm here with her. She just fell asleep, so I'm pretty pumped for a Devin G upload right now to help take my mind off it. Great movie choice bro
God bless your mom , you and your family
The piece of metal that was in his mouth that he used to escape was from the pen that he stole, not the case files
Yep. I was going to say the same thing. It was the pen.
Love how almost all reactors to this film comment on how good the cake looks towards the end.
As far as the cops confiscating the stuff in storage....Hannibal didn't register the storage unit under his name, it was under the name Hestor Moffat, so the cops wouldn't have known it was his.
The guy who runs the psych ward is mad because he wanted to make his career off of Lector but he never got anything out of him. But then some little woman, from his view, walked in and got all the glory. So he had to try to step in to "save the day". Lector knew it immediately and played the dr to get out. Also the metal piece was from the pen the dr left in the cell.
Oh ok! That makes sense. He had Lector for yrs and expected fame for having him.
Why did Lecter go insane, you ask? Lecter lived in Lithuania during WWII and witnessed the retreat of the Nazis from Russia once the tide of war had shifted and the Nazis knew they were losing. The Nazi troops were also starving when they came through Lecter's town, killed and ate Lecter's sister in front of him. (From the book)
I LOVED ur reaction to this movie. U had me cracking up in laughter.😂
Hannibal knew all along. Gumb lived in Belvedere Ohio, Hannibal drew "The Duomo, seen from the Belvedere".
Your fire alarm needs a new battery bro lol
I gotcha fam lol
😁I stopped the reaction twice to make sure that beeping wasn't my detector. Funny.
@@evelynne2846 I did the same thing! LOL
Nothing better than having an old friend for dinner with fava beans and a nice chianti.
Speaking of which that's an inside Dr.'s joke. Psychotics like Lector in prison are treated with Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) & the three things you are not supposed to have when taking MAOIs? Liver, Beans & Wine...
Anthony Hopkins cemented his position among the elite with this performance. A great example of this is @9:17 the chilling look of reminiscence he gives after Clarice mentions he ate his trophies. It's only for a split second, but absolutely necessary to fully sell his character.
it was also all on him to smell the air b4 talking... that wasnt originally scripted... that was part of him adlibbing the character
This was a huge influence on Chris Carter's TV show "The X-Files."
Who misses Sunday nights on Fox: Simpsons>King of the Hill> X-Files?
This move deserved to sweep the Oscars like it did !
I absolutely agree!!
He may want to see the other movie that swept the major Oscar awards, It Happened One Night from 1934. Probably best as a couples watch, as it is a romance.
One of the things I like about your reactions is that you can clearly see how genuine they are. The surprise, the revulsion, the elation. You can see it on your face. It's nice knowing that you're actually invested in the story. Right on, man.
Hey DG, nicely done man.
There’s a prequel to this one plus a sequel.
Goes like this.
1. Red Drsgon
2. silence of the Lambs
3. Hannibal
They’re all great man
I've seen this a hundred times, and I never even thought about them giving Lecter metal flatware with his meal. With HIS record?
What made him so dangerous is that he was extremely smart.
I first watched this when I was 11. It scared the bejezzuz out of me.
Now that I am older I appreciate it as one of the first films to case study serial killers. 👍
Eating brains is in the sequel... lightly cooked with garlic and butter. You should see the OPRAH episode where she has Anthony Hopkins as a guest after she saw this movie. Oprah was so terrified of him up close in person!
1. The lisping sound Hopkins makes after he says, 'I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." is the first scene he and Foster did together and he wanted to freak her out, so her reaction is real.
2. Ted Levine/Buffalo Bill was so disturbing that he received death threats after this was released.
3. The FBI actually let them use their Quantico facility to film.
4. In the book Crawford did have a "thing" for Clarice.
5. "I'm coming to get you Murdock". The late Charles Napier/Lt. Boyle played Murdock in "Rambo First Blood II". A great first time/share.
6. Everybody is hitting on Clarice but IRL hitting on Foster is a waste of time and effort. She doesn't fly that way. She has been married to a woman since it became legal in Caliphony.
7. In the book Crawford did have "a thing" for Clarice.
8. Dr. Lecter was treating Clarice
9. Others will pass this to you as well but: This movie won ALL 5 of the big Oscars.
Some behind the scenes trivia: Ted Levine was researching serial killers for the role of Buffalo Bill and managed to get in contact with some medial professionals specializing in the pathology of these criminals. After talking with them, he went to restricted medical building. He given a tour and was so into researching, he wound up coming across classified information. He had to sign multiple NDAs on the spot before he was allowed to leave.
I can absolutely tell by the effort put behind the film, especially serial killers
Also, when Ted Levine was asked what he did to prepare for the role, he said: "I drank a lot of coffee." Here's to hoping Ted don't have a large cellar underneath his house. 🤔😱
These days politicians are throwing classified documents like beads at Mari Graw.
@@alexlim864 The home that they filmed in for Buffalo Bill's lair was an actual house. It went up for sale in the 2010s, during which the photos of the interior had Silence Of The Lambs playing on the TVs inside.
@@bebop_557 Cool! So long as the buyer wasn't Ted, that's okay, I suppose 😁
My favorite part is when you go "AH FUCK!!" when Clarice is at his door. Haha!!
Your format/presentation has improved. The smash in of “like my video” was quick and not really annoying. Strong work.
The sequel (Hannibal - 2001), and especially the prequel (Red Dragon - 2002) are very well worth a watch, and both feature Anthony Hopkins, playing the same character many years apart.
@Devin G I will tell you how goof this is, it went into the Oscars as a horror film (hollywood respects porn more then horror) so once it won several major oscars it was then called a "Thriller". So glad you liked it this film is so creepy it feels like you need a shower clothes on after watching it lol.
i never considered this a horror film... it was a suspenseful thriller
The scene when Clariss tells her story to Hannibal you can see he is about to cry.. he is a monster, but she made him feel for a moment..👍🏼
I still remember watching this movie when it first dropped in the theaters back in 1991
Bro devins reaction to the migs money shot had me dead, dam near choked on my sandwich I always forget about that
😂😂😂😂
Devin is definitely a door kicker.
Thank you for your service.
Hannibal is definitely worth reacting too.. Red Dragon is okay too..
In order: Hannibal Rising, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal
These movies are based off of novels. There was an earlier attempt at making the first book in the trilogy; it was called Manhunter and Brian Cox played Hannibal Lecter. It was a good performance, but it wasn't the addictive character Anthony Hopkins created. Silence of the Lambs is the second book in the trilogy.
If you want to know more about Hannibal Lecter and why he is the way he is, watch the next two films: the prequel, Red Dragon, and the sequel, Hannibal. Hannibal Rising isn't terrible, but it suffers from the absence of Anthony Hopkins. It also feels totally different from the original trilogy.
You're in "transition" 🦋 the perfect word to use while watching this particular movie 🦋
This was a deep thriller, I think the movie "HANNIBAL", which is basically the sequel is even better because it has more Hannibal, and even tho it's a different actress playing her I still think you'll like it! I'll be there for THAT watch and as always hittin the like button😀
@50:43 LOL. Yeah, he's just tucked and living his best life. Great reaction to an amazing film!
I appreciate it! 🫡
As an Electrician Apprentice the only thing that irritates me more than a loose wirenut is a low battery smoke detector. I change them free of charge just because it irritates me that much.
It places the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again...
Went to the cinema to watch this the cast in this movie was brilliant well deserved all the Oscars it won 💯
I remember my mom telling me to watch this movie when I was 15. It’s the best movie she’s ever referred to me.
I wouldn’t be able to eat again watching this at 15 lol
I loved this reaction. Bro, change that smoke alarm battery 😅🤣😂
Lol! I kept pausing this video, I thought it was my smoke detector!!!!!!! lol!
I can smell your guts! 😂
You just gave the censors an idea.
😂😂😂😂😂 what I thought was definitely the censored version
@@deving9793 What came out of his mouth was part of the pen he stole, Devin. 😉
I got up and checked my smoke detectors, thanks Devin for the safety check. Great review, one of my favorite films.
He was a top psychologist. Clarice allowed him to analyze her, allowed him to exercise his psychologist muscles for the first time in decades. He helped her because he likes and respects her, and he got help too.
Awesome reaction! This is one of my favorite movies, but you made it even more fun watching again, and you noticed a lot of the plot points as it unfolded. If you’re a reader, definitely check out the book, Thomas Harris is one of the best writers of thriller there is.
theres a watch order to this cause its part of a trilogy Red Dragon, Silence Of The Lambs, and Hannibal...theres a prequel movie called Hannibal Rising that shows him growing up and how he became a cannibal and a movie with the first appearance of the character but it isnt played by Anthony Hopkins called Manhunter the movie manhunter takes place before silence of the lambs but it was remade as Red Dragon for the Hopkins trilogy
The actor, Ted Levine, who played the serial killer was also on Monk tv series. He played Captain Stottlemeyer. It was his idea to have Stottlemeyer wear a mustache because he didn't want to be recognized from Silence of the Lambs and be typecast. He was worried that ppl would be too distracted to believe him as a cop.
When a person loses one sense, all the other senses are often heightened. Not the same phenomenon, but also having to do with the senses : When you kill someone, an animalistic bloodlust is often created. It compels one to want to kill again. Creates an animalistic hunting nature & urge. So your sense of hearing & smell may become heightened. His sense of smell is so keen because of his bloodlust, as well as because of his refined tastes, which come from a wealthy background. This becomes evident through books & sequels. He is like an animal - a stealthy predator.
Hannibal broke the pocket clip off that pen he stole from the head psychiatrist.
I love this movie hell yeah
This was a great watch!!
@@deving9793 cool bro
Wow ! Great reaction!....the movie is scary enough...but your facial reactions made it even more intense. I want to watch this entire movie tomorrow. Until your video, I thought this was a kid's movie about lambs and sheep. Maybe it IS, in a way, though....😮
your ceiling bird is chirping. oh the meme is real
In order to understand why Hannibal Lecter is the way he is i suggest you watch Hannibal Rising, it shows you his childhood and how he became a serial killer, also after The Silence of the lambs you've got Hannibal and Red Dragon.
At 10:53 - 😂😂 I was waiting to see your reaction to that 😂😂😂
This horror film is a classic that'll live forever. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
THE CELL SCENE WHERE HE SMELLS HERE LOTION AND PERFUME AND LATER HER BLOOD GIVES A GOOD INDICATION OF HOW SENSITIVE HIS SENSE OF SMELL REALLY IS HE CAN SMELL CANCER LIKE SOME DOGS DO
OMG the cliche chirp!
Hey Dev, did you know the guy that plays Bufflo Bill (Ted Levine) is also the guy that plays Capt. LeLand in the Monk tv show?
...and the warden in Shutter Island.....
6:50 he didn't say "guts", LOL
In the street where I grew up, we lived acros Wim Smulders. The Dutch Justice Department, and the Dutch people, know him as Wim S. 6 were found nearby, in the woods. I was too young to know, but my mom said he was just a regular guy. Thats the creepy thing, any place on Earth. Any person, gender, old and young. Listen to your heart, don't feel obliged to engage anything.
Buddy gave Clarice the Spiderman
Devin, ma man 😂😂😂😂 this was a brilliant reaction brother!!! So many times I laughed at your jumps and screams and all your excited parts! Definitely one of your best mate, and can you please watch the second one, it's called Hannibal 👍🏽 this will continue the journey 😂
I saw this in the theater with my mother when I was 11. I was locked in after the first 5 minutes. I remember it like it was yesterday
Both Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins won Academy Awards for this movie - well deserved
I know a hundred people already said it about the smoke detector, but bro, lol. Great reaction man 👍
The book is brilliant and the movie is brilliant. Considering the subject matter, this film is done with such subtlety and restraint. It’s wonderful.
Good movie
The best!
(Can you hear that beep ? ) Check the smoke det. you need to install a new battery asap !
Enjoyed the reaction like always, but remember those smoke detectors !
( A good rule of thumb is to change them twice a year when we change our clocks... unless its a long lasting battery then change them every new years or on your birthday... something you will remember)
That wasn't Dr Chilton on vacation, that was him trying to flee the country because he knew Hannibal escaped😂
'RED DRAGON' next it's the direct prequel to this movie and you learn more about Lecter. It's also a good movie too.
I heard the sequel isn’t that good?
@deving9793 Yea, the prequel (Red Dragon) is way better than the sequel. I didn't like the sequel that much to be honest, it was just ok. Definitely watch the prequel first, it's good.
Hannibal Rising is the true prequel to Hannibal the character.@@JonseyWales
@@MrKINSM Yes agreed, but Red Dragon leads directly into Silence of the Lambs. Whereas Hannibal Rising is the pre Red Dragon. So if you're going into earlier Hannibal, it sorta makes sense to work back from the first film (plus Red Dragon was made earlier, so most people saw it in that order). That's just my 2 cents worth.
Anthony Hopkins i believe still has the record for least screen time to win an oscar.
He apparently has the second-least screen time of a Best Actor Oscar winner (least is David Niven for Separate Tables). The shortest performance ever to win was Beatrice Straight for Network, she only had 5 minutes of screen time!
Hahaha. You noticed the FBI cake! I always wanted a piece.
Great reaction, man! 👍 I think you would like Hannibal even better, it’s such a great and forgotten movie. Looking forward to more of these classics, thanks for the hard work!! 🇺🇸🕊
ohhh, love you look at this movie! Great reaction. Good man

Thank you for tuning in
I have two that are chirping and one is in my room and the other just outside my room. I didn't design this house. It reminds me of the crickets on the farm in Iowa, chuckle
This is epic movie, but i feel the Hannibal sequel is much more shocking. hope you do react to that too.

@@deving9793 OHH dude you did the reminder mid-way at 14:00 ! i remember suggesting that to you a while back! that's just super cool to me man!
devin really said get ur own copy to the inmate lol
The scene where she is running in the beginning - across the bridge, that's Belle Isle, in Richmond, VA. Nothing else in that scene is. From the angle, it's a pickup shot from the Robert E Lee Bridge. It ends at a Norfolk Southern track spur and some overpriced apartments that aren't even fixed up.
In the books she ends up MARRYING Lector!
Spoiler alert
At the end when he says, "I'm having an old friend for dinner" it's unclear if you caught who the 'old friend' was?
