    That boat for sure was not factory with a bracket and outboards. I'm 50 years old, born and raised in Miami and on boats my entire life. That boat was either twin I/O or straight shaft inboards. But given it's size, I would guess from factory it was a single diesel inboard. Maybe even a V-Drive inboard. Hint, no boat builders would put such a defined curve or (crown) in the transom if they were planning to put outboards on a bracket. Now, back then lots of boats like this had the curve in the transom. But if it were built for I/O's then there would be a flat spot for the drives. If that is the original transom, it was a factory inboard boat.

      These type of modifications involve professional engineers or marine architects. Everything else is bullshet especially when liability is involved in any business. If it’s overdone then fine, by luck, or nothing goes wrong. All the power has to be transferred to the hull from two tiny OEM motor brackets per motor, relative, hIn all sea conditions and loading. Some of the newer boats these days have several motors back there, 3, 4 or more. A 36 regulator went by me with 3 x 350s. Designed from day 1 with outboards.

      You could put twin 400's on it, and still could under preform, what the average weekender doesn't realise that it's all about the prop, ya know that shiny thing that spins around in the water. Pitch, size, blades, etc, etc, etc.
      Horse power means nothing if the gear or torque ratios aren't correct 😉

    • @Maynardd
      @Maynardd Рік тому

      @@jb243wp The average UA-cam watcher doesn’t realize it also depends on hull, trim tabs if they have them, lifting strakes, etc. And horsepower absolutely matters regardless. This is a small boat in the video, it should be much faster than it is. i’m 100% certain they understand trim, pitch of the prop, three blade, four blade, etc.
      My comment is based on the fact I have a 250 outboard that goes 44 miles an hour on a 25 foot tritoon and is a three blade. I put a four blade on and got 3 miles an hour more. Yippee!
      If I had twin 300s on it, it would break 60 mph no problem with the exact same set up I have. Because it’s more horsepower.
      The outboards could also be sitting too high, or too low. But something is absolutely off with this.
      A friend of mine has the exact same boat I have, but has a 300. On the right day he broke 55 miles an hour GPS. Same prop. Why? Because he has more horsepower.
