I think I mention this every episode, but I so appreciate that you include mature skin issues in your conversations. I’m in the process of having to change all my makeup and shades due to age and letting my gray grow in and it’s hard to know where to start.
I am now in the fifties and have also decided to let the salt and pepper shine. As well as get used to increased need for hydration etc. B&B are helpful and entertaining in one go for makeup and skincare. And....gossip. love it.

CT is running out of ideas if they keep making a pillowtalk everything. It’s boring, expensive, overrated, and repetitive. For how much she charges, the shade range is crap too. With inflation going on, I can’t justify spending $50 on a blush wand where only one shade will show up on me after building it up because there is not a lot of product. I live for Elf duping everything CT makes because the price is better. At this point, CT being boring is hardcore benefitting Elf with their profits. Edit: their packaging is also cheap AF for how high end CT is. Saw a dude on Instagram show us his Hollywood Flawless Filter and the bottle leaks, the cap broke, and all of the text rubbed off in like 2 months. Bro deadass said if CT won’t up their game, then Elf will 💀💀💀
Buuut Essence makes the best dupes of the pillow talk lipsticks (normal, medium) I have both versions and can say the Essence version has a better formula too
And CT can’t seem to make any olive shade products yuck all of their products have a pink tone, even the glow foundation thingy. Makes me look tanned when I’m trying to highlight 😂😂

I started working for MAC in 1996 before Lauder with Frank and Frank, and continued to work for/with them until 2007. You’re right. They were untouchable. It breaks my heart to see what the brand has become. We cried when the Lauder takeover was announced in 1998, because we knew it would never be as special again. The early days were MAGICAL.
My mom worked at the Aveda factory at that time and Estée Lauder bought Aveda at the same time, I think it was 98 as well. The entrie Aveda makeup line (which was pretty nice and getting to be popular) went to crap and closed after they got bought.
The way I laughed at Johnny, saying white women only, lol. I found your channel through UA-cam shorts and have since been really enjoying these podcasts with you and Kevin. 💜
My Sunday is now complete! Coffee with Johnny and Kevin ☕️. What I especially love is how you both include those of us who are older and have different makeup needs. I grew up in theater and for 20+ years wore heavy theatrical makeup. Then went for 20 years with very little makeup. I now run a community theater and need to “spruce up” occasionally and have taken your recommendations on products for mature skin. Thank you! ❤
I love the Purchase or Pass segment!! I’m not a young woman, I’m 58, but I love the way you both interact together and bring us great makeup information with humor that makes my day!
I agree that the wine should be your third co-host! Y’all are hilarious it feels like I’m sitting in the room with you and cracking up. And I may or may not have spent far too long unsuccessfully looking for Johnny on the Shade Room 😂
Thank you Johnny for recommending Hourglass powders recently, cuz DAYUM. I got an Hourglass powder (Ambiant Strobe Lighting powder in Incandescent) and OMG. Not to Influencer gasp (or wheeze like Kevin lol love you Kevin!) but that shit is magic. I’m 40 and extremely pale so you can see all the veins and it’s…very frightening to look at lol. I have 3 kids and am disabled so sis doesn't have the bank to waste on pricy makeup that isn't worth it. Everything you have recommended for mature skin has been AMAZING! Angie ~~Hot and Flashy, just turned 60 last fall. She looks phenomenal and is such a great resource for all of us "of a certain age" and beyond. You two are also great wealth's of knowledge, loving the podcast.
I love watching you two! The conversation flows so well between y'all. Also like how you "review" products, not only saying you do/don't like something but also giving a very descript reason. Funny, intelligent, professional, knowledgeable, just to name a few reasons I love y'all! ❤️ 🌈🏳️🌈
I once planned Copenhagen Pride for some years... And, im a former makeup artist (still have it, still have the skills, i just got sick😔) Its like being back in my past... All the conversations we had😍😍😍 I love it😍😍😍
I’d like to say thank you to UA-cam for putting you in my feed because this is the makeup content I enjoy and want to watch. I survived the “beauty community” bullshit from a few years ago. Now on to my comments, as someone who is turning 42 this year, omg shoes and retinol spoke to me. In regards to Tom Ford, I do love their dual sided eyeliner. I buy once every couple of years. That being said, for those that don’t know Tom Ford and Estée Lauder are owned by the same company and if you have an outlet mall near you you may have the outlet store that sales Tome Ford for a fraction of the regular price. If you want to try some Tom Ford go that way. As someone with super dry skin in Colorado I have found that using the stick sunscreen in the blue and white component works great under my makeup! It’s a great primer and you can use it all over your face, arms, and everywhere. Love it. Also, I agree with the Natasha Denona and Hourglass comments. Love them. Haven’t brought myself to trying their newer foundations but I loved their air spray foundation. God, I loved that one.
The high end makeup does cater more to a mature skin type often times bc women who are 40+ are much more likely to have the money to drop on a high end product than a college student for instance. These high end brands know who really is buying their products and for the price they charge it better work well. Even ppl who are well off don't like to feey ripped off.
I've always gone for cream foundation and my skin texture would always be awful and super oily even though I set with powder. For the first time I tried powder foundation and I'm in love, I got the Fenty beauty one and my skin never looked so beautiful. I have a very limited amount of makeup and that foundation with Hindash pallet are the most expensive makeup I own (didn't buy it myself though, I can only buy very cheap makeup). Both being a total of 95 euro. I'm glad you guys did not hype those high end make up as if they were better than drugstore makeup, for example, cause I need affordable options.
You are so right that high end mascara isn't necessary. I remember when most drugstore offerings were pretty lame and Lancome was worth the splurge, but technology and marketing has caught up and drugstore has amazing mascara offerings! I freelance and I keep L'oreal and Covergirl in my kit.
Great show! Would love to see more “purchase or pass “. Also, as some others requested, more chat about great products for mature skin. When I was younger I could wear most anything, but now at 54 and definitely on the dry skin side…. I feel like I have spent a small fortune on products, and just want to throw them away.
Oh you fantastic, sparkling gorgeous ones! You are such fun! I was so disappointed to come to the end of this video. But, it’s okay because I usually go back sometime during the week and watch it again. I love your new Purchase or Pass feature. 💋💖
Please continue purchase or pass! Also, yes, I love the UD Hydromaniac! It's helpful for my dry and dehydrated skin. I would live a concealer. Looking forward to those blushes!
I need a local makeup bestie to chew the bristles with like y'all... Something I do for my under eyes (I'm 44) is use the WnW liquid Megaglo highlighter and add a whisper of it with my concealer and to brighten/open up the outer corners of my eyes. it does such a nice job of lessening things.

I’m 48 yrs old & Dior Backstage F&B is my favorite. I don’t like heavy coverage, so to me this is perfect. They are reformulating this one too (& raising the price 😩) so i hope it’s all for the better. Still 50mls in a bottle so that’s still fantastic.
@@GMW.artist I’m in Canada & they stopped selling the 120ml bottle here. Personally I’ve never tried MAC F&B but people who like it absolutely swear by it don’t they 😂

Amazing as always you two! Johnny, didn’t know you worked for Laura Mercier. Would love to hear more about that! And also client/bride horror stories! Thanks for sharing.
Flour is bleached by adding benzoyl peroxide to the stuff after it has been ground. Apparently you can use gases instead, such as chlorine. It isnt just bread that is highly sweetened compared to European versions, US yoghurts and juice drinks are though the roof too. I believe a lot of corn syrup is added to food in the US. I find it largely inedible because I am used to UK food standards, which arent perfect either.
Our yogurt is like ice cream and our ice cream is too sweet. Our chocolate is awful. I remember the first time trying Polish 90 percent cocoa chocolate and hearing angels sing. My Bavarian genes gave me an unsweet tooth.
This episode was so funny, MOTHERS 😂❤ i love the new section!! As always, I find you are the most honest make up artists on YT, and it's so nice to know how we can trust and learn from you!!
Talking about MAC, it is one of my friend's favorite brands and that's like the only brand she wears. I think it really is the nostalgia that helps to keep MAC in business. I really enjoy the fix+ spray. Repurchased it as a full size after I finished trying the mini. I still look at them as being up there with clinique, Estee Lauder, and lancome.
I cracked open a new Lancôme mascara and I’m always disappointed with how my lashes look… I’m glad to have bought it 50% off but damn. It’s like I’m wearing NOTHINGGG yet is really difficult to remove with my oil cleanser. Excited to see what recommendations you have in your drugstore video.
There's a colour-pop palette I think it's chocolate something that is almost identical to the makeup by Mario pallet that you're talkin about that is absolutely incredible! It's actually better than the makeup by Mario pallet
OMG you guys 😂🤣😂🤣 i laughed so hard this time. You two together.. i just need more of you both talking about make up and more stuff. 1h in a week is not enough! 💜 Just a tipp. I'm more a visual person then remembering names. Maybe not the only one. I would love to see the products (you just talk about and i know its a lot of products), just a picture for a 5-10 seconds on screen. So maybe we can Screenshot it (what i do from shorts) and "see" it and not just hear the name of it. Greetings from Germany 🌸
My favorite small brand is Kikiz Cosmeticz, and she makes lip glosses and some other items, but with her glosses, people always say that she doesnt fill the tube up all the way because she has to leave room for the wand. She has shown countless times that if she tries to put any more product in the bottle, it will spill out the top into the lid n stuff, but people still complain that its not full because when you *take the wand out* its not full 😂
Yes for more purchase or pass!!! I don't even wear make up but i love you guys & love this podcast & love hearing your opinions & reasons for the opinions😂❤❤❤❤❤
You are both so real and delightful, this was also such a refreshing surprise to stumble across - both as a insightful conversation and channel. Very much appreciate your authenticity, critique, calling out the absurd marketing and outrageous costs, loved the Purchase or Pass segment, subtle sociocultural/political barbs (or rather...calls for taking brands down out of spite or choosing alternatives in a principled stand ahah - seriously though, truly appreciate the actual NAMES, specifics and rationale, and transparency to educate and inform so we're not taken advantage of as trusting consumers without knowing some of these shady tactics or business approaches), I adore both your passion and expertise, and useful and joyful commentary - excited to have discovered you and looking forward to your growth and success!
I LOVE this entire format - more like this, please! YES, I'm so glad you said what you said about the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder; I could NOT understand the hype around it. I used the entire container thinking maybe something was wrong with me, but I was so glad when I was done with powder. Ditto with the Secret Camouflage. Never purchased it again, or any other LM product again.

@@GMW.artist I’m in Canada & they stopped selling the 120ml bottle here. Personally I’ve never tried MAC F&B but people who like it absolutely swear by it don’t they 😂
I absolutely want you to do each other's makeup. I absolutely NEED this!!! I want to see how you do another person's makeup and to see your best technique for another person.
Ooh 😮 that would be amazing but probably not great for a podcast 😂
I love these podcasts! Can you guys do one on what was the inspiration for Barbra and what you would do if you met a fan?
"If you know that reference then we need to start using retinol all together now" bahahaha😂😂😂😂😂 that needs to go on a shirt!!!
😂😂😂
Yep. I still have my MAC Vino lipliner my parents bought me when they visited me at university when I was 18. I'm now 48.

Amazing as always you two! Johnny, didn’t know you worked for Laura Mercier. Would love to hear more about that! And also client/bride horror stories! Thanks for sharing.
Your rapport is fantastic! I reckon Kevin needs a neon name sign, hopefully he's a permanent host
You guys are the new Beauty News
I swear this is the only podcast that genuinely entertains me!! (Besides Toni and Ryan ofc!)
Yass I love purchase or pass section, thanks for your insights!❤
This episode was so funny, MOTHERS 😂❤ i love the new section!!
As always, I find you are the most honest make up artists on YT, and it's so nice to know how we can trust and learn from you!!
Had to come back to see the prediction of makeup by Mario ethereal eyes.
Purchase or Pass? Miracle Balm by Jones Road Beauty.
I’m on the fence if I it’s worth buying or not. Love the new segment! Thanks in advance.
Let's go get some shews!!! 🥿👠👟
Love, love, love me some Johnny and Kevin on Sundays!!!! ❤❤❤
I adore listening to you two talking about make-up. You two are extremely talented and beautiful inside out and deserve the world ❤
You guys are hilarious and I love how you see the ridiculousness in this thing we all love. You guys are my weekly highlight!
Yesss. More pass or get 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
There's a colour-pop palette I think it's chocolate something that is almost identical to the makeup by Mario pallet that you're talkin about that is absolutely incredible! It's actually better than the makeup by Mario pallet
Y’all are like my 2 favorite cousins, I ❤❤❤”hanging out “ with y’all 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Most hard seltzer is starting with pure ethanol (like you would find in a lab), then diluting it with water to ~5% ABV and adding flavor.
OMG you guys 😂🤣😂🤣 i laughed so hard this time. You two together.. i just need more of you both talking about make up and more stuff. 1h in a week is not enough! 💜
Just a tipp.
I love kikiz cosmeticz glosses ❤❤❤
@stephanieweeks3489 they're so freaking good! Her gloss formula is my all time favorite, it's so good🙌🙌
Yes for more purchase or pass!!! I don't even wear make up but i love you guys & love this podcast & love hearing your opinions & reasons for the opinions😂❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤
Would love a presentation on setting powders, high and low end price points, for mature skin.
I enjoyed the purchase or pass segment. I look forward to watching more of that segment! Love you guys!
Love the new segment. How about the new Pat McGrath gel blushes?
This was off the rails and I loved every minute of it 😂
14:41 Yes Johnny!! Sing that Lindsay Lohan song!! 😂❤
Also loved Kevin saying, "If you know that reference (Shoes) lets all start using a retinol." 😂😂
I’ve seen your shorts and saw your podcast with Robert Welsh. You are hilarious! Subscribed!
Ahhhhh I live for beautiful and bothered 🎉 this is what makes my day ❤
I’m probably among your more “mature” fans, and you had me cackling over the SHOES comment and needing retinol. You guys are my favorites!! ❤️
Drink on boys. I look forward to your podcast every Sunday. You two are the best. Luv ya guys ❤❤
You two … UA-cam PODCAST MAGIC! ❤
I stg I have never LOVED a podcast so much in my life 😂❤
