That sounds really energy intensive, but are those big like a dining table or more of an office table where a single person fits? I tend to have a small fan blowing the hot air exaust from my PC to my legs during winter, is it like that?
@@LuizAlexPhoenix it’s not really energy intensive. It’s mind boggling to see how much average household spends on electricity in the US. I know because I used to live in the US and now Japan. Japan is a very energy conscious country. With advanced technologies, most household items in Japan consumes a surprisingly low electricity and gas. A whole family of 4-8 could sit at a Kotatsu, along with some pets. Originally in very old days, it was charcoal heat source but nowadays it uses low electricity. You don’t have to heat up an entire home to keep warm. You can eat breakfast lunch and dinner at Kotatsu and watch TV there too. Just that it’s hard to clean for most housewives and my Japanese mom decided get rid of it at one point and have heated floors instead. That’s also very low energy using solar to store up energy during the day and uses from stored electricity source when it’s more expensive at night. Japanese household on average spends about 1/5 of average American household.

I'm sure they exist; I'd just check the internet for "oversized blanket". Main drawback would be washing it. I've got a super thick queen size that wont even fit in a standard washer.

For all those concerned about fires: you can buy heated blankets with timers now :) set a timer for a half hour and kitty will be so happy, and you dont have to worry
Thanks for the info. My pet needs one.
I thought the threat of fire came from an electrical malfunction, not overheating...
@@rani.andretti the threat of fire is from electrical malfunction occurring as you sleep
make sure to give kitty the lowest setting tho, not the highest. Cats can't sweat so heatstroke is a serious concern.
@@rani.andretti the blanket itself doesn’t overheat, but the wires can get worn from constant use. No heated blanket should be used for hours without a few moments in-between for the wires to cool. That’s how these wire malfuntions happen, and the fires.

@@TRAngA-Animator Wow no way, really? I actually thought cats had IQs upwards of 180 and just chose not to speak. I actually thought that cats meowing could signal different things, and they even had an alphabet. You going down the line of comments and correcting everyone (and their obvious humor) has really opened my eyes. I'm sure that they also had no idea that cats weren't trying to communicate to humans. I think you should write a dozen more comments to prove this, because people really need to know that cats don't have human level intelligence, and can't comprehend human emotion and language.
