Awesome! I'm still a small channel but it's been fun to run and the people I communicate with are all really great. Thanks for watching and commenting.
i've been dragging my feet getting things going and I'm turning 52 in 2 weeks. THis is very encouraging, I use to love teaching and presenting on digital marketing topics 7-9 years ago. I was running Meetups and providing free training on Google Analytics, Ads, etc.
I’m a thriving Gen X quite literally living a young man’s life as well as competing with the 20 somethings in many areas. Although I don’t compete with any bad intentions if that makes sense! And 50 is right around the corner! YT recommended your channel so I subbed! Great to see this and really appreciate this message. Keep going Captain ! 💪🏻
Hi Mike. I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy watching your videos. I am about your age, and I would like to try to a niche blog and/or video channel. I am struggling to choose a niche, however your channel inspires me to believe that I can do it. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind comments. It's scary putting that first video out, but I'm sure you can do it. Good luck on your journey and stay tuned for more videos on getting your channel up and running.
Hi Mike, I have learned so much from your videos. The way you explain how to use software is just spot on! I am now 57 and have always thought about making UA-cam videos because I have quite a bit of knowledge to share, but until now I have unfortunately lacked the courage. Best regards from Germany, Mark.
Mike, you are a fantastic teacher, communicator, and motivator. You make clear, systematic videos. I wish you would review every piece of software that is available. Could you please create a video for those who would like to have a faceless UA-cam channel?
Hi Mike, thanks for the great- and informative - video, glad to see us boomers rocking with YT. Just started uploading videos about a year ago; however, not consistent, but I'm thinking about supplemental income after retirement as you mention - which is soon LoL! You mention affiliate sales, and i am thinking of looking deeper into this - as I am not no where near the required views/ subscribes needed to be monetized. Anyway, if there are any additional info you could share relating to getting starting with affiliated programs that would be great. Maybe you can do a video specifically relating to affiliates. Thanks for the video and looking forward to seeing more!
started my channel just over 2 years ago and my first check will be coming next month, a lot of work but also enjoy it so much its almost like not working. My dream is to be able to retire sooner and just do my cooking shows
Glad you enjoyed the video. I use Camtasia and Audiate. Both are by a company called Techsmith and work in conjunction with each other. Camtasia does the screen recording, while Audiate allows me to edit my spoken words in a word processor-like environment. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Well said Mike we are same age!! Uploading and writing all descriptions etcc seems time consuming any recommendations on software (apart from audiate for editing)
Great advice. I started on UA-cam in January of 2021 at the age of 50. Now I have two channels with over 100K subscribers.

Sounds like you have a niche already. Good luck with starting your channel! Thanks for watching and commenting.

You inspired me to start a channel at 55 yr old. Just posted my first video today
Awesome! Good luck with your new channel!
Loved this video Mike. Thank you. I am 59 and it really spoke to me and I thank you for the encouragement and guidance.
Glad you found this helpful. I plan to do more UA-cam-specific videos in the near future so stay-tuned 🙂

Great advice I've been thinking about doing this myself. I don't feel comfortable talking on camera, however.
Thanks!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and have a great day.

I'd definitely need to research this as I don't know much about this topic. I appreciate the kind comments. Thanks for watching.

Awesome! Hope your channel keeps growing...
Great video! What screenshare software do you use when you do those type of videos?

I am 52, with a youtube channel, base in agricultural real estate.
I film, edit, montage all by myself without outside help.
Hope you have great success on your UA-cam journey... thanks for watching and commenting.
I gave a like and subbed. Maybe you can inspire me to get going again!
Thanks for watching and have a great weekend :-)
But you've heard about Google and the YT links now.
Sure. Not really worried about it. Lots of options to drive people to links, etc.
@@mikeshuey Glad you think that way. It is tough for newbies now but we have SaaS opportunities, TikTok, fb and many new avenues. Time will tell.
