    Dear Friends, You can't see me adding ginger garlic paste due to an Editing Mistake.Sorry for my mistake.So I request you to put 1 TBSP of ginger garlic paste in the Marination.

    Prawns biryani is the easiest among all biryani recipes as it has very less marination time.beginners can start up with making this.cooking time may vary depending on the moisture in the marinade...if the moisture is less in the marinade soon it will stick to the bottom....and gets spoiled. so please keep an eye while cooking on DUM..... i have added 2 tsps of biryani masala to the marinade as we like eating spicy.... but i suggest you to add 1 tsp.....to get a nice taste and flavor...adding 2 tsp of ghee/clarified butter enhances the taste of prawns biryani... try and enjoy... :-)

    wow! I made this today. It came out mind blowing. It was so good that I was surprised myself. been cooking for 3 years now and today I exceeded myself with this dish. it was perfect. by the way...i used brown rice and i cooked it for 20 minutes and not 5 minutes and i did not use ghee in the marinade. i used a little bit of olive oil and despite that the biryani was mind blowing.

    Best biryani I have ever made. I’ve struggled with making biryani in the past...but this recipe was so easy to follow. All we did different was use biryani paste (comes in a jar) rather than make our own biryani masala.

    Thanks a lot Foodvedam....it turned out great.....never ever I thought that my maiden effort of making dum Biryani would turn out to be so awesome. I took certain shortcuts though like I used everest shahi biryani masala instead and fried the onions in microwave. Thanks again

    Amazing .. This is the first time in 2 years that my husband has raved about my cooking .. I reduced the spiciness, but the flavour was awesome ...
    also I don't own a heavy bottomed pan, so I made it with a regular pan, placed on a tawa ..

      +naaz shaikh you are welcome. use.. less biryani masala powder(i.e 1/2tsp to 1 tsp) if you don't like it too spicy.add 1 tbsp of ghee to the marinade for enhanced taste .taste the marinade and adjust the spices accordingly.keep an eye while cooking on DUM .it may get burnt.For the detailed text version of the recipe visit www.foodvedam.com/prawns-biryani/

    I have made this biryani several times and every time it has come out delicious. Can you please make a video on cleaning of prawns. After de-veining the prawns I wash it with vinegar water but still there is strong odour in the prawns. is there any way in which we can remove the smell?

      Hi Charita.Thank you so much trying that recipe. usually, frozen prawns and sea prawns smell very bad. soak them in buttermilk squeeze out a lemon in the buttermilk and soak the prawns for at least 15 to 20 minutes. and then wash again for 2 to 3 times.

      Hi Bindu,yes it is teaspoon not a tablespoon.it was a mistake in editing.sorry for that.In this recipe i told to add 2 teaspoons of masala.if you don't like it spicy you can reduce the qty to 1 teaspoon.

    I tried exactly as per ur video but I used another rice variety seeraga sambha biriyani rice but the masala u quoted was sufficient only for 250 gm of rice...I used 500 g prawn and 400 gm rice .... others as listed in the video but when I opened the pot only that prawn masala was sufficient for half of d rice and so I didn't mix the other part. What mistake did i do

    Hi... Thank you for the recipe. I was following the UA-cam Video and not the written recipe. And the video states tablespoon instead of teaspoon. I have used proportion as tablespoon. And i noticed by the comments and also by the website that it should be teaspoon. I am currently in the process of making it. However i would suggest that when you have pinned comment for Garlic Ginger, you should also pin the comment for teaspoon or tablespoon because now i am not sure how it will turn out due to me using table spoon instead of teaspoon for all the masalas

      twarita8 yes you can use the same method.There is no big difference between chicken and prawns biryani,except i added a little more masala to reduce the fishy smell of prawns.Thank you for my trying my recipe.

    that looks awesome. My only question is if the prawns over cook? It is a good 20 to 30 minutes 0f cooking time for the prawns so I was just wondering.

      it doesn't come out overcooked, but they well done. it depends if u put it on high flame right away then it would be. i just put mines for abt 5 min then i followed the steps.
