- Getting my first hits in on the new 2022 Santa Cruz Heckler e-bike at Kanuga Bike Park in Hendersonville, NC was nothing short of insane. Almost endless downhill laps were afforded by the new 720wh battery and Shimano EP8 motor.
Kanuga was an absolute blast! I did venture onto the black DH trails, but I was slow and the footage wasn't great. The Heckler certainly didn't hold me back.
Regarding the exertion stats mentioned at the end, I do think my calorie expenditure would be higher. I've noticed that Garmin sometimes misses the mark on heart rate measurement (usually lower), which would downplay the estimated calories burned.

What was that first flow trail right before Tortuga? Hitting Kenuga this Thanksgiving and that looked like a blast. GNCC looked good too

How tall are you? You said you were on a medium frame. Local shop has the same bike in large, but I think it might be a little big for me. Thanks
5’9”. I can definitely go medium or large, but I’ve been enjoying the medium
I’m 5-10” and have the 2021 in medium. The 2022 has a longer reach and stack. Medium is the way to go. Way more fun.
@@christopherlarue3132 I'm 5'10" and I just went with medium. I have large Evil Following and the first thing I noticed on the medium frame was the ability to get off the saddle and throw my hips around easier on turns and corners. It's taking a bit to settle it, but I feel I have much more control.
What rear hub are you running? I just got this bike and the 370 18 tooth ratchet sounds not great
Whatever came stock on the S-kit for this particular model. Sold this particular bike long ago.

Do you prefer the low or high setting?
High for the increased clearance and more balanced handling for me.
