This home is BY FAR the most inviting and charming that I have seen...it exudes warmth, color, love and family history. I adore everything about this flat...the pink kitchen is awesome...from the mind of a little girl...so sweet. This lady has to be a great mom! LOVE IT...✨

Thats how a home should be built, buying, collecting and inherit things along the way, that you really like and have a relation to, not rushed, getting the latest "it" furniture or color and built like a "show piece" as a lot seem to be when looking in magazines. This home reflects that there indeed is a family living there (with extremely good taste)
The Conran family are well known for interior design and started the retail shop Habitat. Jasper Conran is a fashion designer. I think there’s a restaurant too. Mostly fashion and interior design. Sophie Conran is in the same business and has a plethora of experiences in different designs for different things, including Portmeirion. All fairly modern in approach. The habitat shop was seen as the one of the first retail shops to introduce duvets into Britain. There is a video somewhere of a member of staff demonstrating the speed at which a duvet cover can be put on the duvet. The stuff I have in my brain is mostly useless, including this but I remember it as being quite impressive as I still cannot do it like this lady did.
She is a well known UK interior designer and one of the children of Sir Terrence Conran, who arguably started the modern design revolution in the UK in the 60s. Terrence Conran founded the Conran design empire and also ran several top-notch restaurants. They are a very creative family - his sister is also in the creative field and (was?) married to the famous Italian chef Carluccio. All the children are in the various design/creative field.
It's so refreshing to see a home that doesn't look like a jail cell or a sterile office building. I love the color and thought in each room. I love that the design is personal and not just beating a trend to death.

The color you painted your home is not what sold it, although when properly decorated it can significantly enhance the appeal of one's home. What would be far more telling is if the people who purchased your home KEPT the living room the exact shade of pink you used. THEN you could make the proclamation that it was the shade of pink that sold your home in one week. Some people buy a home for the land and then tear down the existing home to build another. Other's buy a home to rip out the interior and then rehab it to their specific preference. Others buy a home and immediately have the interior repainted to their preference before they move their things in. Unless you know, with certainty, that the buyers kept your shade of pink in their current home you cannot logically assume it was the shade of pink you chose that made the difference between it selling in one week or not painting it pink and then your home may have taken longer to sell. If they have since painted over it, it could be they bought your home in spite of the shade of pink you chose. (and I actually LOVE a well-decorated home with a lovely shade of pink on the walls, but the vast majority do not)
Our realtor for my childhood house told us to paint over every wall in the house (every room was a different bright color before that). It took about 4 years for the house to sell.

I noticed them they have this mid century taste avant garde artwork and daring paints and colours always influencing their decores! I’m mostly talking about people born in the 70s and after.
I'm in love with her. Her beautiful, able-to-be-lived-in home is so inspiring. She picked things she loved and seemed to take her time to make sure she loved them. And let's not forget the light! Her attention to the light is incredible. This is my dream home.
Coming to this house when i was little was always magical. Great memories. All the lovely comments about Soph are so wonderful everyone she is the coolest.
I love it when people include inherited pieces or sth just because looking at an object or art reminds them of a person they know, a house full of things that evoke emotions and memories is a home. We all should be surrounded by things that mean something or are beautiful because fashions change, but memories are forever.

I like how even though everything here is WAY more high end than I will ever be able to afford in my lifetime, everything in her home has a meaning to her. So many people with that level of wealth have just arbitrary stuff in their house and they can't remember where they got it or when, etc. She remembers just about all the stories behind her favorite pieces and knows why they are her favorites. That is awesome.

Mine isn’t generic, but it *is* neutral. I have attention deficit issues and color demands I look at it. Twenty times a minute. I create interest with shape, sheen, elements and texture. If I feel the need for color it is in accessories which can be switched out on a moment’s notice, and I can have a zillion choices for mood or season.

I knew who the Conran family were but I had never seen Sophie. What a lovely, elegant woman!She speaks beautifully ,with warmth ,intelligence and humour and her home reflects this.
Sophie is such a lovely person ! One day when doing up my living room in the country I painted a sample section of the wall shanghai red and the panelling below it jade green and everyone said NO Don't go there, paint it white, it's the country ! I didn't listen and when the room was finished everyone loved it. I did paint my paris appartment all white once when my boyfriend critised my colour choices. I felt really ill and over the next year managed to paint it all back to colour. LOVE the coral colour here !!!
I love this lady! She is so real and honest with the great British sensibility including her language and her accent. And shows off her home in such a great down to earth way, she makes me want to move to the island and be her neighbor!!
The entry really grabbed my attention. She has sooooo much stuff but it doesn’t look cluttered. Possibly because of the amount of space she has. I love to see collections and things that people love from childhood and from memories. I have a small condo full of things from my childhood that I just can’t part from. what a gorgeous flat. when rich people do these tours, not only are their homes usually all beige and grey and soulless, but there are never any THINGS in the rooms indicating the presence of human habitation. this is beautifully designed but it is also a home.

My only motto when it comes to the house: If the kitchen is great, that’s all that matters A well-prepped kitchen with essentials, decorations, a certain theme and the layout of it is the most important to me In the showcase of the kitchen, I simply can’t explain how my reaction was at the first sight of it. The kitchen simply catches my eye in a way it has never before with a ton of decoration and the clock and ARGHH EVERYTHING! The rest of the house is also simply fabulous and pretty, but I’d bet you I’d be living in the kitchen for the rest of my life
I love that she has a story behind every single color, pattern, fixture, accesory lol she put a lot of thought in her home so that alone makes me love the design lol and shes right about that bedroom it does instantly make you feel relaxed.

This has inspired me to rip out my fitted bedroom furniture, turn one of my spare rooms into a walk-in closet. Rip out my fitted kitchen cupboards and fit shelves, paint walls vibrant colours. All on a budget.

What a lovely woman. She obviously has the Conran genes, and her style is thoughtful and accommodating to living a comfortable yet elegant lifestyle. The bed dressing is my preference also. In Australia I use stretchy bottom sheets from Germany) cotton top sheets and my doona of the week. I love bedlinen and were I a rich woman I would have fresh bedlinen every day!. I also iron my sheets and pillowslips. The curtains are brilliant, love that clotted cream colour, and to line them with a yellow is such a special idea, especially in grey London.
I have never heard of this lady in my life. Her entrance ro the house was amazing!!! I was eager to see the rest of the house i havento admit i was disappointed color wise. The palette was bland compared to the entrance. I wished she had shown us the chandelier with the sun shining through so we could see the rainbows everywhere
Absolutely beautiful 💞 the office space was so special and perfectly curated. I also loved Sophie’s dress!! Great idea for the yellow lining in the curtains. Might need to pinch that idea ☀️. Everything about this was quality..

An actual home...! So many of these celebrity houses it’s a show piece or an art gallery but this is a home, it’s seems like a place where you can kick off your shoes and feel welcome...
While very little in the rooms is my specific personal taste it's an intensely interesting and attractive house. Watching the video one begins to see the thought and sympathy behind these very clever little moves. Probably a happier and more joyful space than houses I see where I immediately want everything.

It’s VERY DESIGNED BUT very lived in, comfy and not stuffy. The right amount of polish and relaxed...so hard to achieve! Beautiful.

This is so lovely. It’s not all to my taste but it’s so nice to see a proper home that has a genuinely comfy but still classy feel to it. It’s not just a show house for looking pretty. She’s done it to suit her style and make it a proper home. X
what a gorgeous flat. when rich people do these tours, not only are their homes usually all beige and grey and soulless, but there are never any THINGS in the rooms indicating the presence of human habitation. this is beautifully designed but it is also a home.

If the kitchen is great, that’s all that matters
A well-prepped kitchen with essentials, decorations, a certain theme and the layout of it is the most important to me
In the showcase of the kitchen, I simply can’t explain how my reaction was at the first sight of it.
The kitchen simply catches my eye in a way it has never before with a ton of decoration and the clock and ARGHH EVERYTHING!
The rest of the house is also simply fabulous and pretty, but I’d bet you I’d be living in the kitchen for the rest of my life
I love that she has a story behind every single color, pattern, fixture, accesory lol she put a lot of thought in her home so that alone makes me love the design lol and shes right about that bedroom it does instantly make you feel relaxed.

I love her dress. The shape and colour. The apartment was tastefully done, even though some things are a little OTT, it is balanced overall.
I love the entryway! Not too fond of the kitchen color but she is absolutely charming and the place exudes her lovely light-heartedness.

The front hall reminds me of set house for "Parent Trap". Fell in love with the creme of tomato color.

This has inspired me to rip out my fitted bedroom furniture, turn one of my spare rooms into a walk-in closet. Rip out my fitted kitchen cupboards and fit shelves, paint walls vibrant colours. All on a budget.

Good to finally see a westerners house with colour. Such a beautiful home and she seems so lovely.
What a lovely woman. She obviously has the Conran genes, and her style is thoughtful and accommodating to living a comfortable yet elegant lifestyle. The bed dressing is my preference also. In Australia I use stretchy bottom sheets from Germany) cotton top sheets and my doona of the week. I love bedlinen and were I a rich woman I would have fresh bedlinen every day!. I also iron my sheets and pillowslips. The curtains are brilliant, love that clotted cream colour, and to line them with a yellow is such a special idea, especially in grey London.
A very blessed lady seems nice as well, love her story of the color of the paint

I have never heard of this lady in my life. Her entrance ro the house was amazing!!! I was eager to see the rest of the house i havento admit i was disappointed color wise. The palette was bland compared to the entrance.
I wished she had shown us the chandelier with the sun shining through so we could see the rainbows everywhere

I love your house, there are so many interesting things to look at. A feast for the eyes. And the colours, so beautiful! Not like so many boring, sterile homes, totally blah. Bigs rooms with nothing worth looking at. After seeing the lovely paper you have in your bedroom, I think I will look for something similar and paper my dining room. Thank you, it was a lovely tour.
