    As always thank you for this! Love the D6 content. This is my drift rc build and seeing your thoughts and opinions helps out a ton!

      Great to meet you!!!
      Thank you for all the work you have done on this chassis.
      If there is ever anything I can do to help - let me know.
      I have the full LRR setup with idler gears on pre-order!

      @ which 3D print did you end up using for the softer springs? The shorter or longer one in the end?

    Ha! Lol. I knew that body was special for something and now I see why.
    Nice!!!! Drive by wire v8 must feel like whole new world.

      Yes!
      It isn't the most detailed body in the world - but it is fun different.

    Thanks for all the videos, been a lot of help. I've just finished putting this chassis together (no electronics yet) and the original black o-rings seem to work great. I'm not getting any sticking at all and no leaks, yet. I've also added the spacers under the lower arms which caused the car to sit pretty high. I'll see where it sits once all the electronics are fitted but I think I'll give those soft mst springs a try.

      Awesome!
      The black o-rings worked for me at first as well...but then it was like they swelled up.
      Keep an eye on them!

    You can also use longer ball end caps for the rear shocks

  • @RawEditorsOfficial
    @RawEditorsOfficial 17 днів тому

    The 3d printed adapter thingy is quite nice. maybe some longer ball-ends wil also work. Usually the kits come with spare ball-ends for steering and such.

      @RoadsideRC  17 днів тому

      Yes! Longer ball ends would also help!

    I've noticed that a bump steer is there. Are you planning to deal with that in the future ? My local track is closed till spring so i've limited possibilities to test the chassis myself. Only played with it in my flat.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  17 днів тому

      Honestly - bump steer really doesn't bother me.
      I know folks talking online love to point it out - but unless it is causing me an issue in driving, I don't worry about it.

    I was watching your video because I'm interested in getting this chassis but what makes me thinking is suspension movement specially movement on tow-in tow-out is there every thing ok with ??

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  17 днів тому +2

      Yes - that is called "active toe" and is a feature they designed with this chassis.

  • @MAJ_T_Bagger

    Massive difference in suspension performance! Been keeping an eye on the d6 fb page for what mods people are doing and these are all the things I'm looking to do to mine when it arrives. First drift build but trying to do it properly 😅 already ordered the blue rings and an m3 washer kit, might put a wee chamfer on the chassis where the arms hit rather than taking a proper notch out... Need to order a spring kit still and servo/gyro but got an xd10/d10 10.5t combo for it. Do you reckon a flysky gt5 will be fine for transmitter?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  22 дні тому +1

      Great! You are really doing your homework first - which is very smart!
      I personally do NOT recommend the GT5. If you already have it, and it makes it easier for you to get started - great. But otherwise I would not spend $$ to get one.

    • @MAJ_T_Bagger
      @MAJ_T_Bagger 22 дні тому

      @RoadsideRC thank you! Really looking forward to building a kit again, been quite a few years, last kit build was a venom creepy crawler about 15 years back now haha 😅 rtr is too tempting these days... And yea I've already got the gt5 and a spare receiver. It'll do till I figure out what will be best for the whole fleet, probably a noble by the looks of it.. Have you used the afrc gyro/servo combos before?

  • @initialvat4226
    @initialvat4226 18 днів тому

    My stock yokomo servo from an RD 1.0 doesnt work. I tried reconnectig and flipping the cables but nothing worked. It smelt a bit burned so it means its broken for good right?

    Is there a particular reason why you installed the shocks upside down?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  18 днів тому +2

      Yep - they leak a little. This makes it so they are less likely to leak.

    I have something to ask on an RC car that has spring shocks, not oil filled. Can you put a spacer in the shock to make the spring stiffer to make it dampen the bounce of the car ?
    Please don't say just buy oil filled shocks i can afford to buy them !
    I was told not to put a spacer in the shocks, but some RCs come with plastic clip spacers, and some of the RCs come with adjustable shocks ! So my thought was to put some o-rings on the shock to compress the spring to make the RC less bouncy ! Your thoughts ??

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  17 днів тому

      Unfortunately, it is backwards.
      When you out the spacer with the spring, it makes the soring act stiffer. This should make it MORE bouncy.
      But the good news - it is cheap to try, so good for it!

    • @timmy4539
      @timmy4539 17 днів тому

      @RoadsideRC
      Then why do they make adjustable shocks or put spacers in the shocks ?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  16 днів тому

      @@timmy4539 For when you want the suspension to be stiffer.

    • @timmy4539
      @timmy4539 16 днів тому

      @RoadsideRC
      That's just what I mean !
      I have an rc that's really bouncy, and I want to make it not so bouncy, so I put a few
      O-rings in-between the top of the shock and the spring to preconpress the spring a bit to cut down the bouncing !
      When I drop the test, the rc now it's 1/2 as bouncy as it was before !
