Hey guys, any advice on how to prevent the teeth on the gears from shearing? I’ve been grinding lots of 8mm square butt jointed plate and on both of my makita 115mms, some of the gearing teeth have sheared off so it’s really clunky. I’ve been grinding a single U groove on the butt joint to make a prep for welding. Am I applying too much pressure? Could it be because I’m using a 125mm grinding disc on a 115mm grinder? Cheers
Hi Every time I am going to start my Honda Sk215 lawnmower it is so hard to start. It looks like the clutch is stuck. If I take the blade out it will turn but otherwise it is almost impossible. I wonder if it is the clutch. Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate your help.
I just opened an older (mid-90's) 4 1/2" Milwaukee grinder. The gears were dry but in excellent shape. The grease looked new and was red and smelled just like mobil 1 synthetic grease. In fact i would think it was or maybe their industrial 220? Any idea if it is ok to add some mobil 1 synthetic grease to the case?
You can use synthetic in the gear box of these grinders but it's not required. A word of caution though. Use caution not to fill the gear case too full, the gears need a little breathing space. Filling the box too full of grease is about like running in a swimming pool.
I have a makita old Model Angle Grinder long in size than normal 5 inches grinder with paddle switch (May be 5 or 6 inches), it has overheating problem (Drive gear box gets really hots while working) i have replaced its upper spindle Bearing but still its over heating.....
Hello, there are two other bearings in the gear box, one on the armature shaft and one in the bearing box. If these bearings are bad you would have heat build up in the gear housing.
Thx for your reply Yes i have tried to change the gearing box bearing but Spindle Gear is without having a Wave Washer & Retaining Ring, ( it sounds like that it has been pressed by a press machine which is really hard to detach) and one thing more is that when i spin the spindle gear by hand it runs normal and freely but when grinder runs at full swing ( under load or without load ) it highly heats up and then u cannot touch the gear box for a long time

a question, when you withdraw the shooting, then you put a new one or return to place the same shoot you removed.
Could you explain your question in more detail please?
