At the end all I can say, that I dont know why it didnt read any games before. I gave it a good clean, like any other dirty parts and as you could see it didnt turn on first. After I replaced the fuse, it was working fine. Let me know if the fuse could have some impact on reading games?

How come if the fuse had blown the red light was on ? If the fuse is no good the light wouldn’t have been on, any power in the caps would make it flash just once then off,

This video doesn’t make sense, when you tested it after reassembling it the red light was on but you say the fuse was blown, how would the red light be on if the fuse was blown ?

I just took a bath, but seeing inside the SNES at the start of the process makes me feel like I need another one! 😱 But you got it to work! Amazing!

It would have been too easy if the repair had only been completed with a cleaning ;) But I am amazed that the traces of rust in the device were not even more rotten, especially on the circuit boards. where did you dig up the old tube tv? xD the part belongs in a museum. I can imagine that such a small fuse is responsible for such problems. In my old job, I've often experienced that such a small component can cause big problems. Just because the device gets power and turns on doesn't mean it works. like a defective track.

I am even more wondering what type of liquid is able to rust that deep into the metal cover upside down? Even tho the rotten screw was also a huge oponent this time. About the fuse: I messured contonuity before I shorted it, at there was some. So I assumed that it was fine but who knows.... Did you know, that you can use the SNES CPU in a Gameboy Classic? ;D It runs much faster after that. ;D

@@x-fix Apparently the measurement of the fuse did the rest. was the rust sticky? then it could have been leftovers from a soft drink. Mineral water might have left verdigris 🤔. A SNES CPU in the GameBoy...haha pimp my GameBoy

Thats the interesting part: NO STICKYNESS! Also no evidence of fluids inside. It looked like some metal eating bacteria infected certain areas.

I had an NA snes that couldn't read games, only super mario RPG. It was super weird.

Absolutely. Not sure how those seperated rusted areas envolved.
