I think the man standing on the rooftop is the brave guy who has reached here with the help of people standing near the house. He came here with the help of ladder which these guys placed along the wall. This guy is going to save the people who are trapped inside the house as he has heard the people screaming from inside the house. He is currently thinking what's the best way to go inside the house. He is going to enter the building through the big window and save the people from fire.

I am pretty sure the 3 guys at the bottom will discuss about the guy at the top and formulate a plan to rescue him. They will initially discuss amongts themselves and create a rope out of their shirts by joing them together. They realize the length sufficient. So, they decide that they should climb on top of each other to help the guy at the top. So, one guy climbs on the shoulder of another and once they reach their full height, they throw the rope upto the guy at the top. He is able to catch and come down. Finally, he is rescued and everybody is safe, sound and happy! :D

I think the guy on the rooftop of the building of huge fire. He asked for help and try to jumped off from the building . But luckily these three came out from the building and asked him not to jump from the building. They called on phone the 911. The fire fighters came save the guy from the roof . The fire fighters use the ladder to reach the guy save from huge fire.

There is a lot of things that could happen in this scene, but i think , what will probably happen is that the firefighters will come for help forthwith even fireman's from other town just to give help because the fire already spread out and its so strong. im pretty sure also that all the people inside this building are saved safely especially to the guy on the top of the building trying to make his way out.im sure that he will be safely save by the firefighters.These three men also will give help and the rest of people in there just to stop the fire.in the end, the fire will be stop but massive dectruction is huge.
A unlucky person is standing on a top of a building on fire. three strangers who are under the building are planning to save him with a huge net. I don't know if the guy may jump down but it's the only way to save his life.
The picture shows a building engulfed in flames with a man stranded on the roof and three individuals standing nearby. I think the guy on the roof, upon seeing intensified flames, will feel a rush of panic and will desperately look for a way to safety. The trio below, possibly passing by, will notice the fire and quickly spring into action.
As the guy glances back, his fear will turn to bravery as the fire grows and he realizes he has to take measures quickly. He’ll signal to the bystanders, urging them to find a large, sturdy blanket or tarp. They’ll spread it out, ready to catch him as he makes a calculated leap from the building. Given the structure’s moderate height, the man will jump, aiming for the makeshift safety net.
Though he may sustain injuries, like a hurt leg, the quick thinking and cooperation of the rescuers will ensure he escapes the flames.
I think the man on the roof is a resident of this building. He is such brave man trying to save more people who are trapped in the fire. He will look for the people who are still inside the apartment and will try to get them. As soon as he finds some symptoms of life inside the building he will pass some signals to the men standing down the building to get some help to save the people. May be he will push the push the people down to the men who are standing down and they will catch them until the fire rescue team is reaching out the spot.

why you are only use be going to X tense rather than will. Which tense would you recommend for this task?
watching this video i dunno but I'm holding my breath just by listening to you lol, I'm nervous for my speaking test cause i have this habit stopping every time i talk
Most of English learners can speak ,the problem here is the time ,short time to prepare and looooong time to talk . For me I run out of ideas after 1 min as a maximum.
Hi! Homework:
I think the people on the ground will tell the man above the building to stay calm and courageous despite the huge fire on the fourth floor. Someone will call the firefighters shortly to stop the fire and take the man away using a long ladder. But the man above the building will be afraid and nervous and cannot wait any longer. I think he will try to go down using a rope but people will tell him again to be brave. After two minutes, the firefighters will be there with everything they need. I think twenty minutes is the time it will take the firefighters to stop the fire and rescue the man.

The probability in this picture will be like this.As the building is heavily burning and there is no way to escape for the person standing on the roof top,he is wondering how to escape but there is no way out through the building,so the person will think to jump from the roof top.The people standing on the street will bring a big net so that he can jump in the net to save himself from getting sever injury.Finally he will jump and lands safely in the net and save himself from death.

I missed this video! I did my celpip exam today and totally freaked out when I saw this. My picture was a bus stand and in task 2 I said, they must be waiting for the bus. So I repeated my answer 😂

I ended up saying something like “The people are probably all waiting at the bus stand for the next bus.” Then ended up describing what they were doing to stay occupied 😂

Should I use might be or could be rather than will be or going to be?
The picture depicts a building catching fire. A boy is standing on the top right edge of the building to save himself as best as possible. There is a chance that he can shout for help from three people standing at the
bottom of the building. They can reach out to an emergency helpline number or can search for a ladder.
It might be possible that they could not find any ladder and will wait for fire station people to
come and help them in cooling down the fire. At last three people can help him in surviving.
I think when the by standers or neighbors saw that the building was on fire, someone will call for help to rescue the man first and foremost. They will call the fireman and in the neck of time they will save the man and the building will not totally burn because the fire will wipe out just in time.
Passing by a high building I have seen a fire from the window on the 6th floor. The fire immediately extended, a weather was windy. I noticed a man stood on a balcony of the neighboring apartment. He have been in a panic. Probably an exit has been blocked by the fire.
The residents of the house and passers-by have gathered in a street below thats. Someone rings to 911, to fire-brigade. Someone brings an awning. A road traffic so intensive now. The man is tall and has a strong constitution. And he will jump. Falling from such a high building is dangerous. Probability we wouldn't hold him, but we haven't another way.....

I believe this is Task 4 , I understand it's about describing a scene, the point this is SAME as previous Task 3 picture , which is about describing the scene itself , but Task 4 "if I am not mistaken" is about predicting actions to happen.
My question , do I need to describe briefly what I can see here ? or the RATER already listened to my previous recording , so now it's just about telling the predictions part ? as this is only 60 seconds task
You're right! This one is just making predictions. In task 3, you describe the scene. The picture is the same.

Will your rating be affected if you go beyond by 3-5 seconds? Does it have to be exactly 1 min.?
What will probably happen next is the firetrucks will get there on the scene and those three guys standing on the front of the building in flames they will keep giving advices to the guy standing on the roof's edge of the building while the firefighters rescue him. The firefighters will approach a stair to the edge of the building and rescue the guy with safety. In the end the firefighters will put out the flames of the building and everybody will get away from the place with safety and nobody will get harmed but the guy who was standing up on the roof's top will have to go to hospital for treat his minor injuries due to fire's smoke..

I think the fire will get wild and slowly engulf the entire building. The men down below will get some water bottles from the nearby shop quickly and throw the bottles up on the roof top so that the man can stop the fire approaching him. One of the men will call the fire station and a fire truck will soon arrive at the accident spot. The fireman will spray water from the water pipes and will try to stop the fire, but I think it will be too late and man on the top will eventually jump of the building.
I think the bad day is just begun to start when the high-rise building is on fire and there is a man stuck inside that building. The man will try to find the way getting down or out of the building as fast as he can but unluckily he cannot take the stair down so he will run up to the roof top and get other people’s attention helping him escape the fire. He will yell louder and louder as well as wave the blanket which is used to cover himself from getting burned with the hope that he will catch someone’s eyes in the ground so that they can know there is still a person inside the firing apartment. In the meantime, he’s going to use his cellphone to call the police but while pressing the passcode, he is so scared that drop the phone down to the ground. There is a lot of people watching the fire right now, luckily some people will notice the man yelling for help on the top of building. They are going to call 911 immediately to announce about the fatal fire. On the other hand, they will urgently find ways helping the man. Some people will get the big mattress from neighbor’s house to get ready for the man’s big jump, but there will also someone disagree with the jumping idea because it’s so dangerous. Right at that time the police and fire fighter come, they will quickly put out the fire and the group of fire fighters will be sent to rescuing the man. In the end, the man will be safe getting out of the burned building with very serious wounds caused by the fire.

M not quit sure but I think that while the building is on fire and a person in on the top of the building ,he can't jump to save his life because it is not quit sure that he will be safe after jumping from the top of the building , I think first of all the people standing downside will call the fire brigade to set off the fire . After that they will somehow try save the man. I think that after sometime the fire brigade will come and they will save the building as well as the man also.
I guess three people who stands up next to the building is going to take the man who is on the roof of building down . But they are more likely unable to help him unless they are going to call the firefighters. Maybe the man is going to fall down yourself to scape from fire but he will die.
I think as the building is already set on fire, it will spread very soon. The man standing on the terrace of the building is looking to save his own life and he will ask for help to the three men standing on the ground. They will call fire brigade and will manage to get a rope from nearby and threw it towards the man. As the building is four storey and not very tall the man on the terrace will be able to hold the rope and will try to tuck it to the pipe so that he can get down. Meanwhile fire brigade will come and they will not only extinguish fire from the building but also will save that man. At the end man will be safe and building will have some damage from fire.

I think one part of the building is on fire and there are few people standing next to apartment just evacuated and the man is stuck inside because of blocked exit. He will try to come down by himself from other side of the building and will probably shout for help. The other people will call emergency services to call fire ambulance and police. By the time fire van will arrive people will try to control the fire and try to find something like a rope or net to safely get this person out of danger. The man will start moving down with the help of people and meanwhile fire truck will arrive and fire fighter will try to control the fire on one hand and on the other hand they will get him down safely. The fire will be controlled by fire fighters with the help of people and further no loss of life will be first priority of fire staff.

I think the guy on top of the building is trying to figure out how he can escape the fire just in case the fire fighters don’t get there on time, meanwhile the guys on the ground are shouting & telling him to use the rope that is hanging on the roof & they will catch him .
home work is really long. the building is on fire. the guy standing on the roof of the building calling for help and fire fighters are right down there and planning how to save that guy . ultimately they
use their equipment and go on the roof with the aid of their equipment (they are fire fighters). the guy gets help luckily and he gets saved by the fire fighters who bring him down on the ground safe and sound.

I think the guy on the roof is in danger because the house is engulfed inflames. I believe he shouted for help and persons came to rescue him but they do not have any tall ladder to extent to the roof. They will call the fire department to come and put out the blaze so in the mean time they will talk to the guy to keep him calm while waiting for help. The fire brigade came and they will start the cooling down process. A firefighter extended the tall ladder to the top of the roof. He is going to ascend the ladder to aide the guy to safety where he will be rushed to the emergency vehicle that will be waiting on ground for medical check up.
hello Mark, i have a question about the making a prediction task. Is it ok to make more than one prediction on the same picture?
Hi Deon, yes! The picture will probably have lots of things going on, so you can make dozens of small predictions. Just don't contradict yourself...like, "I think the dog will escape from the cage." "I don't think the dog will escape..."
I think that the man on the roof is about to jump, but the people on ground is going to call the firefighters who are going to get very fast to try to rescue the poor man suffering on the roof, once the firefighters get to the scene they will put their ladder as fast and as tall as they can to rescue the guy who is going to be desperate and ready to jump in case is necessary. People down is going to prepare a kind of nest to catch the man in case he throw himself from the roof. Fortunately the officers will get up by the ladder and finally save the man from a terrible death.
hi ... i think the man standing on the edge of the roof will try to take a lift first but find out that due to fire broke all electrically appliance are shut down to minimise the harmful cause then he decided to take stairs but he will find it locked then decided to take help people seen on the road then the people on streets will ask him to take a jump on the trampoline they will install on the ground near the building and the man will take the final jump and he=is life will be save by street people.

I think the cat will try to catch the mouse. when seeing the picture, i remember the Tom & Jerry series. The smart mouse will make the cat fool. It will hide in the whole and will make some noise to get the cat's attention. When the cat turn to the whole to get the mouse, it will come out of the whole through another way and they will continue the play for sometime. Finally, the hopeless cat will give up and sit on the carpet to get some rest. lol :)

the building is catching fire, i think the man is going to jump from the building.i think the police under the building will shout to him 'don't jump it's dangerous'. the police are going to rescue him out of the fire,but they fail,because the fire is too strong .i think a helecopt will appear and someone in the helecopt will throw a rope down to the man and he will grab the rope and the helecopt will take him to a safe place
I see one man can't ran out of building in time when the fir began, so he climbed to the roof and he is waiting for help. Although another peoplle who lives there are in the yard. in my opinion this men will help to other man who needs help. They have phoned to emergency service and emergency will be in a few time, but escaped people are trying to help a man who needs help and one of them will bring life-saving awning and if the fire burns all the building the man on the roof may jump off into the awning and his life will be saved. there could be other posibilities but these are my personal predictions.

I think man standing on the left side of the building is asking for help as on the right side of the building is on fire and fire is spreading all over because weather is too windy. three men were passing by , they stand up and call 9-1-1 for help and they also try to help man in the meanwhile so they ask people living in the building to give them couple mattress so that man can jump on it, so at least they can save man life. they are actually savier, usually people get nervous to see the situation like this but they try to handle it bravely.

I am not entirely sure, but I think the man standing on the top of building is going to shout out loud for help since that building is on fire. Then there are 3 men running to the building to see what is happening. I think they will try to deliberate the way to support for the man in danger. the fire is going to burn harder and harder that no one will be able get into. Then the man will make the signal with the effort to let 3 men understand that he is going to jump down and ask them bring a large soft mattress to catch him. Fortunately, this building has only 5 storeys, so he will be able to jump down without much fear. At the end 3 men will catch him safely with that mattress and firefighters just arive at the same time. (Hi Mark, thanks for great lesson! If you can, please correct the tense and help me how to say *the fire is burning harder and harder* in sound good sentence. Thanks a bunch!:)

I think the man on top of the building is really going to be frantically confused as the fire blazes closer to him. And as the flame and heat from the fire get stronger and unbearable, the man is going to keep moving away from the fire until he gets dangerously close to the edge of the building. As a result, he's going to try to jump from the building to the ground, but he's going to be deterred by the height and the fear of breaking his bones. Fortunately, one of the three men at the bottom of the building is going to help call the Fire Fighters, who will promptly provide the man on top of the building with a ladder for him to get down safely, and also extinguish the fire. At the end of the day, the man at the top of the building is going to be very thankful to the men at the bottom as well as the firefighters.

I think the person on the rooftop is employe.he is in panick.he want to jump down but one person which is on the ground scream to him you have to wait for a moment.other person going to call to 911 and reports sytuation.now they will be wait for a fire truck.fire station is near so they wont wait to long.when will be coming the firer truck they will be they use long ladder and they will be save person on the rooftop.after this everybody will be go to bar drink some beer
i think the man on the top of the building is trapped because of the fire, he cannot find a way down through the stairs so he is going to jump down to the ground. And the three men standing there are 3 pedestrians who walks by and want to help him. The firemen are on their way, but the fire is getting worse so the three men are thinking about holding that man on the roof by themselves. well i think the man will be saved if the fireman arrives on time and put a huge sponge thing on the ground, it can reduce the possibility of hitting the ground by our body parts, otherwise when the man jumps onto those three guys, they may get hurt at the same time. After all the building has four floors,and its height may cause fracture.

I am walking toward on a street when I recognized one of the building where I going through there's a smoke coming out on the windows. I saw a 3 men standing on the left side of the building and they look shock of the scenarios. I run so fast and I call them to walk away from the fire building and we suddenly saw a guy at the roof top shooting for help. I called right away the fire man to their respective office and they responded so quick. They extinguish the fire and they rescue the guy using their fire ladder to come down. They reported that no one hurt during the fire incident. Later on they concluded that the cause of fired was due to unattended gas range.

Mad English TV i just realized this task is about making predictions so sentence should be on future form but thats not the case here. He used past sentences.
I think the man who's near on fire will jump to the 3 guys to save his life but I think, the 3 guys are not yet ready to catch the man, because they don't have the equipment to save the man, but the man will jump without hesitation because the the fire is near to him, so the 3 guys will catch the man even without the equipment.
So the man saved his life but he was injured a bit and the 3 guys who catch him got injured because they are not ready to catch the man yet. Thank you

I am passing near a huge building, then guess what there is a big fire on the last floors and the roof too, but this is not the problem, the main problem there is a guy on the roof shouting help hlep me, then 3 guys passing and stand up trying to help the man at the top of building, they look around to use something to let the man jump on it, but nothing only the ground, then they call the fire station but it will take more than 10 mints to arrive, they start to think togather what they will do to help the man up, then they decide they will fold thier arms togather as a net and the man can jumb :)

I think the man on the roof is going to get hurt because of the extremely hot flames, so he'll decide to jump off the building. but those people standing against the building will hear the sirens of firetrucks and will shout at that man not to jump. as the firetrucks reach there, firemen will place a safety matress and ask the man to jump off then. he hasn't been traind for such a situation, so he will jump awkwardly to the corner of the mattress. as he hits the mattress, he'll fell off and hurt his body.
He will stay alive but badly injured by the help of god and those brave people.

There is fire on the top of the building. The fire reached the stairs. In an emergency, we must not use an elevator. The man wanted to go through the stairs but he could not go. Somehow he could be reached upstairs to the roof. And now he is asking for help. Few people walking down the street and looking at the man. They want to help him but they don't have options. Definitely, they called fire bridged. Then they are saying the man firefighters are coming anytime. Don't worry you will be saved.

I think one of the three men standing next to the building will freak out and run away because he has something like a fire phobia the second one is going to decide to call nine-one-one for help unfortunately it'll take too long for a fire truck to arrive and the man on the top of the building is going to shout out desperately help me I beg you help me do something so the third man on the ground is going to be the bravest one he will run upstairs using his thick coat as a cover for his head and hands to protect himself from the fire flames he'll fight his way up and will rescue the man on the roof by the time firefighters arrive there will be nothing left of the building but both the men will be safe and sound.
(There is no punctuation, because I used the voice typing feature of my phone, and I decided not to make any corrections, besides correcting typos. One thing I realized while speaking is that one minute is too short for me to tell a crazy story. I am afraid I'd need an hour.) Lol

I think the man on the top of the building which is on fire will scream out to ask for help. Three men who are anxiously watching this kind of catastrophic situation will try to call the police and the fire department near by. They are all waiting for the rescue crews to come and save the guy on the building, but their arrival will be delayed. At the moment, the fire is going to spread out the entire building and emitting the smog. The man on the building is going to complain "I can't breathe' , and he will pass out. One of the three men will clime up the ladder that is attached at that building at the back , and he will take that man down who is in danger . They will be all safe and uninjured. The fire truck will arrive and the paramedic crew will come along. These brave four men will be sent to the hospital immediately, and they will stay there for a night until they get fully recovered

I think the boy is waiting for fireworkers. But the fire is huge over the rooftop. The boy is very nervous and ground people speak the boy jump down to ground. Unfortunately the boy is not hear their voice, when 911 rescue team is arrived, the boy is die.
In this picture there is a building on fire, and on top of his roof there is a man. I think that this man is going to catch the attention of the people outside of the building. I think he is going to yelling and screaming but after five minute he will lose his voice without getting any help, and he will give up. So, because he is going to be really afraid and nervous, he will jump out of the building without considering the possible bad and dangerous consequences. Fortunately for him beside of the building there is a nice and soft bush, so when he will touch the ground, he will be seriously hurted but for sure he won't die. When he will realize that he is safe, he will start to make noise moving the leaves of the bush with the purpose to get the attention of the other people and to be transported to the nearest hospital.

The building is set on fire and I think the man who is standing on top of the building is very much frightened and I think he is going to jump off the building. That is indeed going to be dangerous. Also I think three men are standing down on the street outside the building. I think they are watching the fire and I think they are going to call the firemen to douse the fire. I think this guy climbed the top of this building because he going to watch the stars now, at night. As I can see at the same time a fire broke out in the attic. The guy will realise that the house is in danger. He is going to forget about stars . He is going to save the people .He will shout a very loudly and he is going to attention to this fire disaster.People who stand next to the house will call to the fire brigade ,the police station .In the meantime the boy is going to put out the fire. Thanks to him the help is going to come very quickly .Residents of the house are going to escape and will be save .All people will be grateful to the boy.The fire brigade will give the boy a job in his brigade . The guy will be happy beacouse he has always dreamed of such a job. From that time everything in the boy's life will be ok.

• I Guess that IELTS is an old fashioned test. However, CELPIP is more dedicated for Canadian English, which I prefer in all 4 categories 😍
That's great! I think Celpip is more practical than IELTS. Also, it's cheaper than IELTS.
Celpip is easier in W, L and R. Speaking could be more difficult depending on how you feel speaking to a PC

I think what will be happen next that Those three man are going to far from the building and One man will be calling to 911.Top of the building the man will be shouting ‘help’, ‘ help’. The building will half burn until a fire truck arrive.Suddenly Everybody is going to hear the fire truck sound. A Fire man will be trying to save the people and building.

I 'm not entirely sure,but I think He ran away from the fire to go on the roof.and He is making decision that He should jump from building or not.May be wating a fireman.for helping.Three men looking for help.but they don't know what should they do.Fireman will arrive.They will come with fire truck.They are going to use fire engine ladder to help the man who is waiting on the roof.They will cross the ladder to the building wall.The man will go down to the floor by the ladder.Finally The man will be save.

Great question! Actually, when we are making predictions, we say "will". If we are talking about a hypothetical situation, then we say "would".

The flat is on fire and the man who is standing there will be do something to extinguish the fire. The people who are standing down will be helping this man to save the building from fire. This man will try to get other people on to the building with help of rope. Then will try to save the people inside the building. Meantime some people will call the fire brigade. Few people will try to use the extinguisher inside the building to extinguish the fire and will give instruction to the people not use the lifts and to use the stairs. Some people will try saving the people meantime the firefighter will come and do the needful

The three men bellow the building are going to climb the building join with the man who stand at the top of the building and they will make a great barbecue over the building because today is australian day and nobody working, nobody worried, everybody is making his barbecue and drinking several beers and singing loud the aussie anthem, sure they are singing wrong but they are singing. I think the guy is on the top of the building will go to kill himself in the beginning. But at the time, there will be a fire. When he sees the big fire, he will be afraid of death and he will start to ask for help. The three people on the ground will come for help the guy when they get a calling from a lady says that a guy seems like to hurt himself, but the fire will go to be serious quickly. The firefighters will decide to extinguish the fire first and come back to save the guy’s life, but the guy on the roof will feel terrified and will cry for help. One of the firefighters will stay here to help the guy. He will let the guy on the top know that they will have called the extra help from the fire department. They will come in 5 minutes. The fire will be extinguished immediately when they come here.

I just did my test yesterday. For me time seemed to be moving too fast! Somehow whenever I spoke slowly I felt that my speech barely had any content.
Also, I would like to re-iterate the importance of taking some notes. Please at least write down some ideas that you are going to talk about. It will help you especially if you notice that you finish too early.
