    Great tutorial!!!
However, it's very difficult to move the combination numbers (due to them being so small). I think that a LARGER combination lock (or at least LARGER numbers) would be ideal...especially for our elders (aging parents and grandparents), and folks that have a difficult time manipulating their fingers on the small-sized lock pad-namely ME! ;-D
Additionally, It would be wise to carry some type of pen light with you to enable you to use the combination lock at night time.
We have really bright overhead motion activated lights on our house, but they do not SHINE directly on the key pad attached to the gate. 😞
My parents will ALWAYS have to carry some type of flashlight, candle, matches or something that can light the lock pad in the dark.
We use our side gate A LOT...especially in the evenings (walking the dogs, fitness & leisure walking, entertaining friends (outdoors patio/pool), bar-b-q's & outdoor garden parties, taking the trash to the curb, etc.).
One of my neighbors said, they saw a "over the lock" light product that can pivot and shine directly on the lock pad (Amazon), but, unfortunately the light can not be mounted on WOOD...and there isn't any other place to attach it, I.e. to AIM directly (facing) the key pad combination lock. Bummer!
Any suggestions? There may be something out there that we haven't seen or heard about! ;-D

The best way is to carry a small penlight flashlight with you or a headlamp. After all walking @ night you should be using 1 of these anyway! Or your cell phone has a built in flashlight!

Do the numbers auto shuffle on close? I don’t think they do from the video, but I know my kids will be too lazy to manually do it

Great video! Would I be able to install this on my gate if the area where I need to drill is only half an inch thick?

When replacing snapped cable, the rubber block fell out and the lever got moved. Unbeknownst to me, the dial was also turned. So when I put the lever and rubber block back to original positions, it changed the combination. Now I can’t put lever back to the learn position unless I turn the dial to the new, wrong combination that I don’t know. Ugh. Is there any way to fix it? Thanks.

I think the same crap happened to me, f*ck. It's so annoying. Now I gotta return the product and redo the entire thing. eh sort of a crappy product with no customer support either.

These guys made it so that you have to push the cable Through the tunnel rather than sliding it from the top. The hole is so small that the cable wont go through

Good video but maybe you should have mentioned that most vinyl fence posts that have gates attached have an aluminum beam inside them as do the gate panels so they don't sag. The yardlock installation video tells you to predrill the screw holes to a 1/8" I think it is and the printed instructions with the lock tell you to predrill them to 3mm but nobody has metric drill bits. Anyway, I ended up trying a 7/32" bit (2 up from 1/8" in most drill sets) and still ended up tending to strip the soft stainless steel screw heads. Another tip is if using a power bit drill/driver is find a #2 bit that is larger than the standard ones with the drill so it fits tighter, just don't try a #3, it won't fit into the head. So,...I ended up using a #21 bit out of a numbered drill bit set I have (I'm a mechanic) which is marked as .159" and the screws threaded right in to the holes without threatening to strip the head out. One note is that the screw for the security hood over the latch "the one odd longer screw" is a smaller diameter so don't use that bit for predrilling a hole for it. Of course, if you're mounting to a wood post and gate you could probably use that 1/8" drill bit and not have any trouble putting the screws in.

How do you stop someone from just opening it up and cutting the wire?

Are you serious? If so, you don't understand how it works. No one would be able to open it without the combination. You can't cut the cable unless you were to open it first, it pulls the cable when you open it with the combo to unlatch the latch on the inside. Besides, cutting the wire would only disable it not unlock it, if someone had it open to cut the cable the latch would already be open. It would be easier for someone to cut your gate in half with a chainsaw. Locks only make it harder for someone to get in, they aren't fool proof.

if you got the box open you wouldn't need to cut the wire to get in

Hi and thank you for your interest in one of YARDLOCK's products. Any of our installation videos will show you how to use the lock. After you have installed the Gate Lock and programmed your personal code, all you need to do is enter your personal code and pull the lock down to unlock your gate. Here is a video link on how to use your Gate Lock. ua-cam.com/video/Z2QV4HDx3Ls/v-deo.html

My neighbor installed yard lock on a public pathway and forgot to tell everyone the combination. One of the neighbors found the universal key for unlocking... A crowbar.

That is the only fatal flaw I see that it has but no lock is impenetrable. Someone will always find a way to defeat them.

@@manstersr Problem with the lock is it can be opened faster with a crowbar than the combination.
