Your love and devotion should be to Jesus and not a religion or a church that does not teach the Scriptures. Mary did not ascend to heaven in her fleshly body. She was saved by believing in Jesus the Messiah.

Jesus gave us the Catholic Church with the Eucharist as the source and summit of the Christian faith-the True Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ Himself. Mary was assumed into Heaven at the end of her life, because the womb that bore for 9 months the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, God Himself-could never be subject to rot and maggots and worms! Come home to the Catholic Church. Remember that Jesus warned: “If you do not eat My Flesh and drink My Blood, you will have no life in you.”

This is what many Protestants don't understand. If you Love the Catholic Church, then what you are saying is, I believe in God, I believe in the Holy Eucharist, I believe in His saving Plan, I believe He established a Church, I believe in eternal life, therefore, I believe in God the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. The Church is the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist is Christ True Body and Blood, the Mana..Now we just wait for the promise land which is Heaven. Just like the Israelites in the desert that ate the Mana until theyhad reached the promise land, us Catholics do the same as we eat the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharist .. we will eat it until we reach the promise land which is Heaven...and no it's not just a symbol..and Yes, I Love the Catholic Church, therefore I Love God .

Nope--All throughout the Holy Bible, a church named CAtholic is NEVER mentioned>>>>!! NOT even in Catholics bibles!!!
Quote the bible (book, chapter and verse) and debunk these: (NO sarcasm please)
If you refuse to even debunk even 10, proves my facts ARE the truth!!!
      FACTS:
#1--Christ NEVER taught that Peter is a pope.-(where is the title Pope in the Bible?)
#2--Christ NEVER taught that Mary will go to heaven. (Where does the bible say Mary will go/has gone to heaven?)
#3--Christ NEVER taught that Mary is a mediator/intercessor. (Where does the bible say Mary is a mediator?
#4--Christ NEVER taught that Mary never sinned. (Where in the bible does it state Mary never sinned?)
#5--Christ NEVER taught that Mary remained virgin. (Where in the bible does it state Mary remained a virgin?)
#6--Christ NEVER Taught that a mere man is head of His church. (Where is the Bible does it state a mere man is head of Christ's church?)
#7--Christ NEVER taught about a church named Catholic. (Where in the Bible is a church named Catholic mentioned?)
#8--Christ NEVER taught that we can pray to the dead.-(Where is the bible does it state we can pray to the dead?)
#9--Christ NEVER taught that the dead can hear our prayers. (Where in the bible does it state the dead can hear our prayers
#10--Christ NEVER taught that anyone can change the day of worship . (Where in the Bible does IT STATE GOD changed the day of worship to Sunday?)
#11--Christ NEVER taught to confess to a "priest". (Where in the Bible does it state we are to confess our sins to a Priest?)
#12--Christ NEVER Taught a priest can forgive your sins. (Where in the Bible does it state a priest can forgive our sins
#13--Christ NEVER taught salvation is through a church..(Where is the bible does it state our salvation comes from a church
#14--Christ NEVER taught to pray to, or with beads!!! (Where in the bile does it state we are to use/pray to beads?)
#15--Christ NEVER started a church named Catholic!!! (Where in the Bible does it mention a church named Catholic?)
The bottom line is, the Messiah kept the Law perfectly, and we are to walk as he walked according to the Scriptures at 1 John 2:4-6. Those who do not follow Messiah’s footsteps are workers of lawlessness according to the Messiah himself.
By your refusal to refute my facts, implies they ARE ALL CORRECT!!!
      Isaiah 8:20
To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light.

--And NO CATHOLIC follows Christ and HIS Teachings!!
I suggest you ask yourself: Is this what Christ taught???
      >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
POPE BENEDICT XVI: While Catholic believe the Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it is true, “one cannot take individual biblical quotes or passages and say each one is literally true.”
“It is possible to understand the sacred Scriptures as the word of God only by looking at the Bible as a whole, a totality in which the individual elements enlighten each other and open the way to understanding. It is not possible to apply the criterion of inspiration or of absolute truth in a mechanical way, extrapolating a single phrase or expression.”

Thank you Scott for your perspective of the Faith. I have relatives of another Christian denomination, and when I visit their Church, It always seems to be scriptures in the general area of the readings read in Mass. I enjoy the worship service, and the contemporary Christian music/psalms. My non-catholic family and friends make me feel welcome in their congregation. Why do some Christians judge us for including Mary in our prayer life? I've been to a couple of Calvary chapel services, here in Massachusetts, and it felt as if every example of how not to pray, was the ways that we catholics do. I have nothing but love for my sister's & brother's in Christ. I wonder if other Christians knew the headache it causes, would they open the eyes of their hearts, and accept us in light of our differences in traditions? Converting the convinced isn't really what the great commission's intention is. Jesus, Mary, Joseph, all the apostles and saints knew and know this. Love one another as He has loved us. Pass on God's passion. Peace out.

You say "I have nothing but love for my sisters and brothers in Christ. I wonder if other Christians knew the headache it causes, would they open the eyes of their hearts, and accept us in light of our differences in traditions?"
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup. Give her as much torture and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself. In her heart she boasts, 'I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never mourn.' Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her." Rev. 18:4-8
"Woe! Woe, O great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls! In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!" Rev 18:16-17

Mary is Not a Mediator Between God and Men
      By David J. Stewart
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." -1st Timothy 2:5
The Mary which Roman Catholics worship is notthe Mary of the Bible. Biblically, Mary was only human. God chose her to be a vessel to bring His beloved Son into the world. But Roman Catholics bow down to statues of Mary, exonerate and venerate her more then Christ Jesus.
In Exodus 20:4,5 God said, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them..." Mary would never be a part of this! She was not there when Christ created the universe. Christ was God long before she was ever born. Bowing to Mary is a sin!
Roman Catholic teaching states Mary was sinless. That is not true. In Luke 1:46-47, she too admitted that she needed a Savior. Like all Jewish mothers, Mary gave a sacrificial offering of two turtle doves (Luke 2:21-24). Romans 3:23 declares, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Catholics have created a monster, called The Blessed Virgin, or Queen of Heaven. The Catholic Mary is a fraud, a demonic myth. Catholics teach that Mary was born without a sin-nature (called the Immaculate Conception), lived a sinless life, remained aperpetual virgin, and was bodily assumed into Heaven. Not one of these false doctrines can be supported with the Bible. Yet, Catholics fully reject the Word of God to keep their own TRADITIONS instead (Mark 7:9).
Mary saw her son crucified, but He came to die and pay the price for all the sins of mankind, including her own. God's blood ran through Jesus' veins (John 3:16; Acts 20:28). If you are saying that Christ is without sin, then you are right. You can find this teaching in 2nd Corinthians 5:21 and 1st Peter 2:22. The Scriptures state there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) and one Mediator between God and men, and that is Jesus Christ (1st Timothy 2:5). Jesus is the ONLY one we can go to for salvation (Acts 4:10-12). In John 14:6, Jesus said He is the ONLY way to Heaven. There are absolutely NO two mediators.

Since the initiative belongs to God in the order of grace, no one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification, at the beginning of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit and by charity, we can then merit for ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification, for the increase of grace and charity, and for the attainment of eternal life.

Remember my previous comment on that verse- true believers will not fall away, the only ones who are burned up are the unsaved. If you're a true believer & you don't allow Him to work in you then you are not abiding in His LOVE, and you will lack joy. However if you are not a true believer you won't bear fruit & you're not abiding in HIM in which case you will be burned up. Two different concepts- Abiding in Him (salvation) and abiding in His love (sanctification).

Let me share this quote with you Robert from one of the Early Church Fathers. "Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." [St.Ignatius of Antioch (AD 110)] Dr. Hahn's decision was aided by these early church fathers.

Robert, it wasnt until the 16th century the Dueterocanonical books were removed from some "bibles" and put in an appendix prior to being removed altogether. So to take a huge step back from debating in the details that literally takes years of study (not me by any means), that is a VERY long time for scripture to supposedly contained "false" books. When Christ said "what you bind on earth is bound in heaven", He meant that. So regarding scripture, the church is the pillar of truth that knows.

    Who is more blessed?
A)The one whose womb bore Jesus and breasts nursed him or...
    B) The one who hears the word of God and observes it?
27 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” 28 But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”
    Jesus answered correctly: B

YouMustBeBornAgain John3 You say "an amazing blessing", but wasn't your point that you believe that Jesus was saying she wasn't blessed because of it?
Our Lord was not publicly diminishing His Mother. Read the gospel of Luke. The angel Gabriel honored Mary, John the Baptist in the womb honored Mary, Elizabeth honored Mary, as a child Jesus obeys her, and grown up, Jesus, her son, continues to honor His Mother.

Jesus does save us! It's the power of God working through that sacrament of Baptism that allows us to enter into the covenant. The argument in Rom 3:28 is addressed toward the judizers who were stating that you must first become circumcised before you can become baptized and Paul says Faith(which includes baptism) not the works of the Law (circumcision). In the old covenant one was circumcised to enter into the covenant in the New Testament .

"which corresponds to" also translated "antitype": A symbolic earthly expression of a spiritual reality. The verse here specifically says it's not speaking of water baptism ("removal of dirt from the body") but of the covenant with God which saves from destruction (being in Christ analogous of being in the ark of Noah). Obviously believers are required to be baptised but isn't this moment that we are saved, it's simply our first act of obedience once we are saved by faith. In Acts 16:27-34 the jailer asked Paul “what must I do to be saved?" The answer: “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved” He was then immediately baptized. Notice that Paul did not say that you must believe and be baptised. He left baptism out. If baptism is necessary for salvation, then why did Paul exclude it?

Romans 11:6 “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But IF IT BE OF WORKS, THEN IT IS NO MORE GRACE: otherwise work is no more work.” If salvation comes by works, then it is NOT by God’s grace any more.

Wow...Scott's personal interpretation of who Mary is just shocking. He is very good and at reading way too much into some passage that wasn't at all what it meant to be taken as. How could he say that Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant along with saying that she is the new Eve. Where in the Bible does it say this and why make such outrageous assumptions. These two assumption are such a big leap that it begs the question. Why did Apostle Paul describe it this way? In any case, why didn't any of the 1st century believer know this, were they too ignorant? Was the 1st fathers too ignorant of this of Mary. No where in the Bible do I see any 1st century believers putting so much emphasis on Mary and calling her The Ark of the Covenant or referring to her as Queen Mary. If the 1st century believers did NOT regard her in this manner their no need to do it now. If Jesus wanted his mother to have such a title and focus, he would have made sure that the 1st century believers would follow it. Scott bring up in Revelation 12:17 that somehow this was talking about Mary. This verse wasn't talking at all about Mary as being the woman but that the "woman" being depicted here is describing faithful Jews at the time and a child who is "Jesus" and the rest of the offspring who are the Gentile believers. Please read the entire chapter not just one verse and distort the meaning. This is especially important for readers who read many of Scott Hahn's books. Deception runs very deep and very wide, especially now so please read the entire chapter for every verse Scott Hahn references, it will be the only way to really know the truth. Also please use your mind to think and reason. Ask yourself WHY? so that it will clear up any confusion. I tell you the truth, the 1st century believers and especially Apostle Paul was highly intelligent so if he didn't do something the Catholic are doing now as "tradition" than it was not important. Apostle Paul and Jesus would not leave these things open and God would never create a Bible that was incomplete so that self motivated churches and teachers would come add/distort/misuse His Holy books. It is not in God's nature and character.

This is not his personal interpretation; it goes all through the Catholic Church and all back to the early Church fathers.
Do you know how archaeologists are able to tell an ancient picture of Mary from any other woman? Mary is usually shown with a crown of stars; either around her head or embroidered into the hood of her robe.

    • @sserena1229
      @sserena1229 10 років тому

Crown of star that men have put on her was not put on by Jesus or Apostle Paul…both of these people never ever put so much focus on Mary like the Catholics are doing now. She is just like Abraham and Moses who God find favor in because of her obedience. She is not to be prayed to or else Paul would have prayed to her. Paul would have told 1st century believer to pray to Mary but never did. Jesus never told people to pray to his mother Mary or even mention her as a co-redeemer in any of his teaching or sermons. How can the Catholic church make up such a false ritual and take the deity of Jesus away from him? It is a real shame but what is more sad is the fact the so many Catholics will defend their ritualistic traditions not knowing that they have been deceived. I know how hard it is to admit that they have been deceived but at the end of our life on earth the only thing that will matter will be our Faith in Jesus Christ that produces fruit of obedience to know his words and to do his will. We are all fallen human beings who like to defend even a false religion because we are self-centered human beings who refuse to seek God of the Bible.

Julie Kim To honor the masterpiece of an artist does not take honor away from the artist; it gives honor to the artist. To praise a good father's children is to also praise the father.
Mary's sinless state was won for her by Christ.
The word "Trinity" never once appears in Scripture, but prayerful study with the aid of the Holy Spirit reveals it. So too with some aspects of Mary.

    • @sserena1229
      @sserena1229 10 років тому

The word trinity does not appear but we know by reading the scriptures very carefully that God is three persons in ONE. Another dangerous addition by the Catholic church is the concept of "purgatory" which has been created so that the Catholic church can make money. If purgatory was in the Bible and if Paul preached this than there was no need for Jesus to come. This distortion of the truth of purgatory is very dangerous because it takes away from Jesus's full and finished atoning sacrifice on the cross. If you're deceived into thinking that Mary was sinless when the Bible clearly states only Jesus was sinless than I can only pray that God opens your heart. Mary said that she needed a Savior in her son Jesus Christ because she was born in sin like the rest of the human race. There was no mention of Jesus ever making Mary sinless…if this was so than the Bible would have mentioned it. I would think that any of the Apostles would have said this but they didn't. No 1st century believers prayed to dead saints or Mary, or else Paul would have sternly instructed this to all churches he visited but he didn't. We need to use our common sense thinking to question and reason why the Catholic church do what they do. The big problem I see with the Catholic church is that they elevate man above God and thinks it's ok. It is only God who knows the heart of all men to determine if they are SAVED/Saints. If you carefully read the New Testament, you will clearly find that none of the Catholic rituals were ever practiced by the 1st century believers…all Catholic traditions and rituals were instituted/created by men and not God. Please don't tell me that the pope is perfect like God or that the catholic pope is infallible…we are all fallen and need saving. Jesus rebuked and condemned most religious people in his time and didn't even bother preaching repentance or acceptance to them because Jesus knew their hearts were not with him but with themselves and their religious traditions. I see this now with the Catholic church. Very focused on church tradition and not on Jesus Christ or his Words.

How Muhammad lived an evil life and how Muslims deny the deity of Christ. Kreeft's response was telling. But even more specifically (in that layer you refer to), it represents the birth of the Messiah and how that lead to the new Israel, forming Christ's Church and the persecution regarding the church, which suffers persecution by the dragon - the power of evil. It woman also represents Blessed Mother who was directly, without question, the one who gave birth from womb.

It may be defined as the condition of a soul that, because of a badly regulated reliance on God’s mercy and power, hopes for salvation without doing anything to deserve it, or for pardon of his sins without repenting of them.
One wonders how sincere a person’s love for God is when he is so readily willing to sin simply because God is forgiving. God cannot be fooled. He reads hearts and knows our sincerity. To decide to sin is to offend God. To decide to sin because one knows that he can be forgiven is to sin twice. It is to use God, reducing him to a utility at the service of our whim. It is to laugh at his passion and death.
And don't forget to judge other also is a sin.

She said she appears to whom she wants as longer as it doesn't interfere with Her son will.
She foretold the Rwandan genocide 10 years before it happened.
If you are interested just ask God if it is ok to pray the rosary and do your own research about her apparitions. That is what I did anyway and now I am here declaring that I finally have a heavenly mother.
All of this since last April during lent that when I started asking God.
Now I have decided to devote my whole life to the 7 sorrows of Mary rosary.
Asking her to pray for me in the name of Jesus Christ has been the best testimony of my life.
Good luck if you are truly searching and not trying to call catholics names

      John 3:13 ESV
No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. (Assumption of Mary is a catholic dogma).
      Exodus 20:4-5 ESV
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
      Hebrews 9:28 ESV
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
      Romans 3:23 ESV
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Including Mary).
      John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have eternal life.(Mary didn't die for your sins only Jesus did). The bible says MANY will be deceived. Eternity is a long time to be wrong. Please I implore you to read bible.
      Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Not to Mary).

Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant - that is true. She contained within her the living Bread of Life, the living Word of God, the eternal High Priest. John the Baptist danced before Mary just as David danced before the original Ark of the Covenant. There are many more correlations, some of which are mentioned in this video. Mary is the new Eve and the Queen Mother.
I would also like to point out that during the Mass the Bible is read - the first reading is from the OT, then there is a Psalm, the second reading is from the NT, and then there is the Gospel. Catholics actually read the Bible and hear it when they attend Mass. I'm just pointing this out as I am often told that Catholics never read the Bible and know nothing of it.

DancesWithBears John the Baptist "leapt in his mother's womb" very poetic wording for "stirred in his mothers womb"...you know that. MARY IS NOT ANY QUEEN...referring to Mary as "The Queen of heaven" has caused GREAT division in the church...Sorry to have to admit it is indeed a pagan( direct from goddess worship) expression and forbidden in the Bible! I learned that in a college course on Ancient goddess worship....not a Protestant school, nope. Remember when the New testament referred to the Goddess Diana as "Diana, whom the WHOLE WORLD WORSHIPS " ????? She was a virgin goddess. COME ON!The infant stirred because the baby Jesus was nearby!Just enjoy your devotions to Mary and don't judge those who disagree or consider only Christian those who agree. Respect and admire and even love Mary, but do NOT put her on a Throne! Oh God help us all.

theonlymeaning Diana never existed. Mary did and does.
When I began studying Scriptures to find out the parallels between the Ark of the Covenant and Mary, I was really surprised to find out there were so many. Here are some:
      1. The ark traveled to the house of Obededom in the hill country of Judea (2 Sam. 6:1-11).
Mary traveled to the house of Elizabeth and Zechariah in the hill country of Judea (Luke 1:39).
      2. Dressed as a priest, David danced and leapt in front of the ark (2 Sam. 6:14).
John the Baptist - of priestly lineage - leapt in his mother's womb at the approach of Mary (Luke 1:41).
      3. David asks, "How can the ark of the Lord come to me?" (2 Sam. 6:9).
Elizabeth asks, "Why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" (Luke 1:43).
      4. David shouts in the presence of the ark (2 Sam. 6:15).
Elizabeth "exclaimed with a loud cry" in the presence of Mary (Luke 1:42).
      5. The ark remained in the house of Obed-edom for three months (2 Sam. 6:11).
Mary remained in the house of Elizabeth for three months (Luke 1:56).
      6. The house of Obed-edom was blessed by the presence of the ark (2 Sam. 6:11).
The word "blessed" is used three times; surely the house was blessed by God (Luke 1:39-45).
      7. The ark returns to its home and ends up in Jerusalem, where God's presence and glory is revealed in the temple (2 Sam. 6:12; 1 Kgs. 8:9-11).
Mary returns home and eventually ends up in Jerusalem, where she presents God incarnate in the temple (Luke 1:56; 2:21-22).
      (Source: www.catholic.com/magazine/articles/mary-the-ark-of-the-new-covenant)
      8. The Ark of the Covenant contained the stone tablets, manna, and the budded Rod of Aaron.
Mary contained within her womb the Word of God, the Bread of Life, and the eternal High Priest.
      9. The Ark of the Covenant was constructed to specifications laid out by God Himself.
Mary was created in the Image and Likeness of God.
As for being a queen, the heavenly kingdom is foreshadowed by the Davidic kingdom in the OT. In that kingdom, Bathsheba was the queen mother and Solomon would not turn down her request. Mary is the Queen Mother to her Son, Jesus.
I believe Scriptures are the word of God and are of paramount importance. I believe them all. I know that God became incarnate through a Jewish woman named Mary, not a fake goddess that never even existed. God chose to come to us in this way so it is fitting. And I am not going to complain about it or tell God I don't like it or beg to differ. And I would be careful about comparing the Theotokos to a fake pagan goddess.
You posted: "Just enjoy your devotions to Mary and don't judge those who disagree or consider only Christian those who agree. Respect and admire and even love Mary, but do NOT put her on a Throne! Oh God help us all."
Have I said that anyone who disagrees is not Christian? Perhaps you have me mixed up with someone else because I have NEVER said that and I find the thought repugnant. Where did you come up with that? And do I need your permission to respect, admire, and love Mary? I did not put Mary on a throne. God did. She is the Queen Mother because of God's grace. Gabriel called her "ketcharitomene", which basically means "chock full of grace". Gabriel is a messenger. God is the one who made Mary full of grace.
Jesus followed the Ten Commandments. Among those Commandments is "Honor thy father and thy mother". Jesus, being God, honors Mary perfectly. Should we do any less? Shouldn't we try to be like Jesus?

theonlymeaning You posted: "The infant stirred because the baby Jesus was nearby!"
This is the word of God:
And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.
And she entered into the house of Zachary, and saluted Elizabeth.
And it came to pass, that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord. (Luke 1:39-45,DRB)
Do you want me to white-out those words and change them to "And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: and the infant stirred because the baby Jesus was nearby"?
Note what Elizabeth said to Mary. "Blessed art thou among women", "And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?", "as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy", "blessed art thou that hast believed".
Elizabeth herself used the words "leaped for joy" and she was filled with the Holy Spirit when she said them. So she was speaking the absolute truth. But you want it to be "the infant stirred because the baby Jesus was nearby"?
No. The word of God is far too important to screw around with. I will stick to the Scriptures here because they are the word of God and what you have said is not.

DancesWithBears St. Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, was not compared to Diana, rather I was comparing this elaborate "enthronement" concept to the historical and Biblically recorded practice of goddess WORSHIP of a virgin.... and the more I review it the more I think I am correct. Ever stop to think why the Holy Spirit caused the writers of the Scriptures to record the fact of that worldwide practice(WHOM THE WHOLE WORLD worships) ???? Nothing went into Scripture accidentally...at that time, in Northern Europe and South America, in the Polynesian Island cultures, in the plains of north America and the area now called the American Southwest, VIRGIN Goddess worship actually was practiced! Perhaps there was the meeting of a Chinese citizen Jew in Jerusalem (yes, they existed too!) who on a holy Pilgrimage to the Temple told about his trade route adventures (read about The Silk Road) , his life in China where Virgin Goddess worship existed and does to this day and it has spread to all of Eastern Asia...very big in Viet Nam by the way...it was known in ancient times of the Goddess Worship in Africa of course as Solomon traded with that area of the known world.. perhaps China too, Jews went there as traders thousands of years ago.. The writers of the Scripture had no clue about what is now Scandinavia, Polynesia, the American Continents...how did they know "the WHOLE World worshipped a goddess like Diana...Diana was the only one in the Middle east AT THAT TIME...before that her name was Ishtar, "QUEEN OF HEAVEN" ...God says that is "an abomination to the Lord"....I did not say that, God said that in His Word.. I know you have a Bible. As an American you have that right and freedom to do so,, that is one of the main reason my own ancestors came to this country....religious freedom...openness and access to Holy Scripture which keeps the believer OUT of Darkness! Why do you think the translators of the Bible into English willingly went to the stake? Or did you not know about Tyndale and Wickliff ? Martyrs for you and me ! So we might have the Bible, so it would not be kept locked in a golden treasure box, not hidden or forbidden . !Look back into history, Goddess worship iis always there, so much so that those who seek "original faith" "ancient Truths" often are even misled back into goddess worship, even today! And it isn't a bunch of loonies but highly educated people! They want and seek out authenticity and assume that going back to some "origin" is Truth...N O T ! My original ancestors, and your's too, were human sacrificing pagans who worshipped a QUEEN of Heaven...it is in the Holy Scriptures! The ancient Celts, the Vikings, the Greeks, the Romans, the Sythians, the Gauls, the Norsemen, the Saxons, etc etc etc etc Celtic pagan origins is very big currently...we need to be cautious. For some, going back to Rome won't be authentic or original enough,.... so they go to Orthodox (Eastern) worship. .....okay, Jesus is Lord! amen! then again, .some return to Judaism, Messianic or otherwise...I know of what I am saying here...this is what is the bigger picture out there....Jesus told us that in the End Days there would be this sort of thing...Mankind LOVES religion, from the very beginning...beauty and pageantry candles, incense, and form and sights and sounds to delight our eyes, ears and sense of smell...who does not love all pf that? It is beautiful and lovely! What did the old Testament say "I sought Him in the thunder, in the roaring wind, etc. but He was in "the still, small voice" God is Spirit. The Bible tells us that again and again...and again! Still we all want pomp and ceremony, thrones,, crowns, , yes, God help us! What made Cain so angry at God and at his brother Abel that he murdered Abel in a rage? It was a rage of religious zealotry, by the way...not only sibling rivalry as some would limit it..Cain had made his OWN form of worship, not God's instruction ,, he wanted to worship with his hard earned (by the sweat of his brow) perfect vegetables and fruit and bread and no doubt he arranged it in an exquisite way, pleasing to the eye and it may have had fragrant flowers adorning it! His pride of achievement was there, it was the first temple, the first caththedralI was meant to worship God. It was meant for God.Remember exuberant Peter who at the vision and sight of the heavenly three wanted to build an altar right there? But Jesus or Lord rebuked the disciple. But......the big but... Jesus angered, incensed the Pharasees and Sanhedrin to a murderous rage (not unlike that of Cain, defending God's honor!) by telling them that the temple was going to be destroyed! He had earlier told the woman from Samaria that the day was coming when all who worship the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob (His Father , our God) would "Worship Him IN SPIRIT " you do know that, I am certain. ," ENTHRONEMENT " of Mary proves it is worship of Mary and not just praying and communion of saints. .Not the "great cloud of witnesses" St. Paul wrote about. WHY ISN"T the CREATOR of the WORLD Who deemed it fit , necessary even !!! to take on human form to save us , why isn't THAT ENOUGH? Why is He not enough? Yes, I do encourage you to respect and love and admire Mary! I tell others that all of the time....hold her up as the prime example of obedience and motherhood...non-catholics are sorely remiss in that area...out of fear of excess, not because they do not like Mary but because they BROKE from Goddess worship,, ,DO NOT WORSHIP her. ... pray for Light and God's leading through His Holy Spirit, you will receive it. I am nearly 70 and my eyesight is poor and I do not type well, please pardon mis-spellings and typos. Love to you, in the Name above all Names, the Name of Jesus.

DancesWithBears Totally agree with you re:the Word of God is far too important to (mess) around with (it).I especially like how in the Magnificant Mary, filled with the Holy Spirit in Her Spirit and Jesus in her womb, said "MY REDEEMER".....why did she need a Redeemer if she was sinless? If she was a Queen (God is not locked in time nor Space) "Jesus Christ the SAME Yesterday Today and Tomorrow"...Mary is the greatest of all women in the Bible, Mary is the mother of Jesus, Mary is the symbol of Israel, the picture of the universal church...I recommend MARY THE WOMB OF GOD by Sister Ann Theresa Shields...a Franciscan nun in the 1970s....don't know anything about her since then...I understand the reason Christians called Mary the Mother of God...if one believes Jesus is God and is encountering those who did not, common place in the early centuries, then stressing the Mother of God aspect is indeed important...that DOES NOT mean she is to be ENTHRONED...sorry, no where is that shown and to have a QUEEN OF HEAVEN is actually very FORBIDDEN....You are very well read, so now read about the virgin goddesses...oh, Mary was given the birthdate that fits into the astrological sign of Virgo! The Sun was the PRIMIER pagan sign, even more so than the virgin goddess...enough already I am old and tired and my eyes are giving out...but let me just say that the great success with the AZTECs in Mexico, even after they were horribly conquered was 1) SUN (solar) worship 2) drinking blood of a sacrificial victim 3) virgin goddess Now, that was NOT an aspersion cast at the Lord's Table (far be it that I should do that, ever) or Eucharist or Holy Communion, whatever you wish to call it, but it figured into the conversion of the Aztecs who LOVED hearing it was real blood...Queen of Heaven theology in ancient days went hand in hand with Sun Worship....come on dear ones, what exactly is our faith, the Faith of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior...why scream and yell and wave the banner of St. Mary? Who else does this sort of thing? Are we Shiites and Sunnis? Are we going to fight amongst each other when the World needs the Saving grace of Jesus? Satan must be laughing and all of his demons too...I know personally (or knew) a woman who went from Christianity to Goddess worship...the woman has a master's degree from a fime university, maybe a Ph.D by now I suspect. She was the daughter of a pastor and the daughter inlaw of one. She wanted REAL and AUTHENTIC original, ancient religion..".one for the ages," embracing all in Earth...she chose neo-paganism, then Wicca and finally Dianna worship...alive and well today...she first "fell in love with the virgin Mary" and wondered why Mary had been "ignored" or "played down" by protestants....well, she herself is an example a perfect example of why..it happens when Jesus is not "enough" and the desire to be more ancient and original. more "authentic" takes over....

She's highlighting that a woman just like us humans, born like any other human, made the choice to give birth to the Son of God because she was chosen by God for being a worthy Candidate. Without hesitation she said, "Let it be unto me Lord.", faced persecution, gave birth to God-Man, raised him as her own, kept watch of his ministry, then watched him suffer in every step of the passion and at the feet of the Cross. She wept tears because she knew better than anyone that Jesus didn't deserve the death on the cross She was the greatest witness to Jesus even more so than all of the Apostles.

      To sola scripture I say:
      - GOD has sais thru scripture:
      - do love GOD from the bottom of your heart with all you soul and mind and strength ..
      - do love your next (GOD-chosen Mother Mary is!) as
      - you love yourself
      - even love your enemy.
They want _NOT_ to love GOD-chosen Mother Mary. She is less and worse than their enemy .. she is their enemy. Satan hates Mary .. his children hate her. GOD loves His Mary .. His children love her.
She is GOD's creation. Nothing more and nothing less. His best creation. He dwelled in her. He lived in Mother Mary for 9 months. He made and chose her. In the man made old arc of covenant was the Holy Word of GOD in stone. In the new GOD-made living arc of covenant did the living WORD of GOD live in.
      Who loves GOD loves Mary.
Who loves her not but insists to love GOD is a liar.
1Jn 4:20 If a man says, I have love for God, and has hate for his brother, his words are false: for how is the man who has no love for his brother whom he has seen, able to have love for God whom he has not seen?
1Jn 4:21 And this is the word which we have from him, that he who has love for God is to have the same love for his brother.
beware of that raging wolves! Outside they look like sheeple .. like Christians .. inside they are raging wolves .. looking to make you fall. I know what I am writing about. They want not at all love GOD-chosen Mother Mary. ... they are liars. They are not of GOD.
Thanks be to good GOD His every Word. Man lives not of bread alone but by every word of GOD (his warnings too! .. be aware of all those raging wolves - as He said .. He sent us out as sheeple amongst wolves).

Christ is fully God and fully man, John says that, “the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” Do you honestly say that he was not born, did not come in the flesh? That, as St. John says in 1 John, is the spirit of the antichrist.

    Meditatio by John Joseph
    Just as the sun
    Can pierce glass
    Without breaking it
So also did the Holy Spirit
    Enter into the womb
    Of the Virgin Mary...
Fiat! Be it done unto me
    According to Thy Word
And the Word was made Flesh
    And Dwelt among us
    And we Beheld HIS GLORY
The Glory of the Only Begotten
    Son of God 🙏

The nine days after Jesus' Ascension to the Father found his followers gathered together in constant prayer just before the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Acts 1:14 tells us that Mary was among this group. This is the final mention of Mary in the Bible.

@markm.5756 The so-called assumption of Mary is a RC invention. Cannot be proven biblically or historical lyrics. Read the gospels. Jesus was her firstborn not her only born. She had sons & daughters. The names of her sons are given. Don't ignore scripture for the sake of man made fables.

There is a constant war between the devil and our Lady that has existed from the beginning. The Bible uses many names for the devil, among them are deceiver, accuser, serpent & dragon. In Genesus, GOD puts enmity between the serpent and the woman, between the children of the serpent & the children of the woman. Fast forward to revelation 17: The dragon makes war with the woman (the same woman who, in Rev 12 gives birth to the Male child that is to rule the nations) And he goes off to make war with her children (us) Hmmmm...now who is it that I see making war against Our Lady & us all over youtube? :D

Wendy, In this video Scott Hahn uses scripture to clearly explain how the Blessed Mother is clearly the new arc of the covenant. It makes complete biblical and logical sense. Well, for those who have eyes and ears to see will see this, otherwise we harden our hearts and reject these things. Sad. 😔

      John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in
👉HIM 👈should not perish but have eternal life. Notice it doesn't say mary and saints.
If there was a purgatory why would Jesus refer to hell about 70 times in the New Testament. It's blasphemy to think that Jesus's death on the cross wasn't sufficient despite him saying 'It is finished'.
We can go direct to Jesus we don't need priests to confess our sins to:
      1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, 👉HE👈 is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
No one should be beyond correction just like the 7 churches in Revelations.
Eternity is a long time so I would urge you to check your own heart and conscience only God and you know if you really know him as a Father, Lord and Saviour not just a religion.
If you really knew and fully understood the depths of what Jesus did on the cross for you, you would be convicted it's wrong (although I respect her as an important woman in history) to pray to mary and saints (in bible all God's children are saints).

What do you mean that Mary is also mankind in its original incorruptible state?
Luke 1:46-47 And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant.
She therefore acknowledges that God is her Saviour, which means she is part of the human race and a sinner like the rest of humanity!

Please show where Scripture requires a scriptural statement to that effect. Scripture does not demand that all doctrine and practice be found in scripture. THAT is a man made tradition.

I already knew that scripture was profitable in many ways. What you haven’t shown is that scripture demands that ALL doctrine and practice MUST come from scripture. Since THAT is missing it is nothing a man made tradition.
Besides, if scripture is sufficient by itself then show me the inspired canon . Oops. Without the church you have no canon and, thus, no scripture!

Sorry to inform you that it is YOU who is adding to scripture. Scripture does not require doctrine be found in scripture. That’s YOUR man made tradition.
And Romans does not prove that Mary sinned. You are adding to scripture yet again.
Hey, did you find the canon in scripture? Of course not. No church, no scripture.
