Grave Digger Tools Sidekick #1 Build quality so good it will be a family heirloom. Great video thank you for sharing I love looking at different options
I seen a few people on UA-cam use that predator the larger one seems like it cuts the plugs really nice and it stands up as far as durability very well
i have the Raptor digger and it is very good ..digs perfect plugs in nice soil not for hard soil though its tough and very well made last a life time love mine
I just bought the Dr Ötek Lesch copy on sale during Amazon Prime Day. $19.95, just arrived today. Great reviews, feels very solid. I like that Predator due to the curve. Gets you down under the item.
@@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti8964 Used my son's for a few hunts; I prefer my Sampson ball-handled spade; I call it my get-up stick, cuz I need it to get back up after kneeling.
I agree! I’ve got 2 Excaliburs. I have the hand digger which is an awesome hand digger. Had it about 3 years and that’s all I’ve used since. Then I got the smaller 18” shovel for some some yards, parks & curb strips. I don’t want to carry around a large shovel. Just the optics of having a large shovel gets people attention. Yesterday was my 40th birthday 🥺so I got the new Predator 21 phantom shovel as a gift. I’ve heard great things about the head shape. Suppose to make near perfect plugs. Should arrive this weekend. Can’t wait to try it!
I been using the Nokta Macro digger for a few yrs now. Stated off with cheap metal ones and 99cent plastic ones went through a lot of them now I just use the plastic one in playgrounds. The Predator ones look very very rugged.. Probing for coins I have not got into trying because it looks, like it take a little more time to get the target.
Predator makes absolutely indestructible tools. I have a predator shovel that is featured in a few of my videos and I definitely give it a beating when I go out. Probing for coins is a lost art. I tried doing it for a while but like you indicate, it definitely eats into your hunting time. I do occasionally use my probe if I put my pinpointer on the surface and it sounds off really good. It's easy to locate a coin that is just below the grass.
I noticed your name. Can do is the motto of the Seabees. Were you in the bees? I served in them for 6 years. Thanks for watching and thanks for the support brother!
I'm leaning towards the white's digger since anaconda nx5 shovel is my favorite plug shovel and they don't have a hand trowel still . Do you happen to have the price of the white's?
Good Video. You said you were going to do a video on find bags. I have been looking for a good rig that would be a find bag and a tool bag at the same time. One think I never see is a good quality belt. I spent many years as a police officer and I know the need for a good belt to carry the load. I just don't understand why all the find bags have a wimpy cloth belt. Would you please adress your thoughts on that in your next video. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I have been looking for a White’s digger. Now I don’t think I want one! I do have two Lesche diggers, but unfortunately, they are both left-handed and I am right-handed. So, my question is, did you buy that Lesche with both sides serrated, or did you cut the other side? Planning on having my brother cut the other side on one of them for me, so I have one like you have in your video.
Another informative video! Surprised you don't have a Wilcox style hand digger as they seem quite popular in the US? In the UK, the Evolution Extreme is the British equivalent of the Lesche...I use one, although I have the plain blade rather than the saw toothed version which is the standard...I am not convinced the saw teeth do much good as you rarely have enough space in a hole to get a good sawing motion going... For thickish tree roots, I bought one of those pocket/hand chainsaws, (the ones that are one up from a wire survival saw) and as long as you can feed it around the root, it cuts them in short order...
I have never heard of a Wilcox. The Sawtooth edges are actually designed for cutting through turf. This design is very popular here in the US because a lot of us metal detect in parks and playgrounds that are grass. I really like your idea on the pocket saw I may have to look into getting one. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate you watching. If you haven't already it would be nice if you would subscribe as well.
@@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti8964 Re the pocket chain saws, the quality (and cutting ability) varies quite a bit between brands...The cheaper ones tend to have fewer cutting teeth per foot of chain...I seem to recall the best ones are Swedish, but quite expensive...If you search around UA-cam I am sure you will find reviews/comparisons between the various brands available....
Hello, was wondering if you want to sell your Whites digging shovel, mine wore out for the most part and I cant seem to find one anywhere, they went out of business, and arent for sale anymore.
You're not the first person to ask me this, but as you know it's a great digging tool and it happens to be my favorite one. I would keep searching on eBay and also look online for some smaller mom-and-pop type detector dealers. They made a lot of these so there has to be more around somewhere! Thanks for watching and best of luck to you

I'm partial to the White's. I dig my initial hole with my Predator shovel so my hand Digger isn't what I make my plug with it's more a tool for locating the Target in the hole or inside the plug. I like the whites because it has a longer blade on it which allows me to reach further into the hole. Unfortunately, they went out of business and these are very hard to find.
@Freedom Diggers Metal Detecting I like the whites or lesche Tough terrain in Maine. I need name of your group, on fb like to network, my group has 1300 members.

Thank You for producing this video.
Thanks for watching! I hope the information helped you make a good decision.
Great review brother! I can’t wait until you come back down and detect with us.
Thanks Brother! Looking forward to it. Gotta get my first civil war relic!
Looking forward to your review of find bags. Good video. I also use a leached and predator ranger.
That video is already up- check it out!
Recently got the ultra phantom from predator tools....a gem
They make great stuff.
Glad I came across your channel. Gotta watch your other videos.
I appreciate that! I try to be a little different than your average detecting Channel.

The Predator is nice, but she's a big clunker. I'm interested in knowing how the tool you bought holds up. Thanks for watching!
that raptor digger is awsome i have one it digs Real nice plugs in damp soil .not so good for hard soil
I haven't tried it yet but what you are saying makes sense. I do plan on using it for bottle digging. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Love the bell idea man
My fiance who does the filming isn't too crazy about it! LOL
The Raptor has a curved blade that digs a nice plug; definitely needs that good quality belt, tho!
I'm gonna give it a try. How long have you had one?

If it anything like the Predator Raven, it will make perfect Roynd plugs. I use mine everywhere I go.
Interesting video. Some nice detecting tools there. Time to go shopping I think.
Thanks for checking it out! Which one are you considering?
The predator raptor.
For parks and turf, I like the Predator tool Phoenix
Good choice!
I like the anaconda nx5 shovel myself it's built like the predator too, if she ever breaks I recommend giving that one a try
I have 3 predator spades here in wales uk, awesome equipment
They really are indeed! I would not trade my Predator Raven for anything.
Ive broke and bent cheap garden trowls when I started. Better to just buy the right tools from the start
Absolutely!

Unfortunately whites went out of business and they are very hard to find. The original price of them was around $37. Thanks for watching!
I've been using a Garrett digger. The digger itself works ok. The sheath it came with was junk. I just keep it in my finds bag now.
Most of the sheaths these come with are junky. The best sheaths I've seen are the Lesche & Predator ones.
How does the Garret hold up in hard ground?
@The Bear's Hiking & Outdoorsman's Club great so far. I sharpened mine for easier digging.

Having worked in law enforcement for a while myself I know exactly what you are talking about. Good idea on the belt.
Jim recommended the Relic Elite pouch by Omega Mill to me a while ago. Excellent quality. I love it.

I cut the other side myself. That's some really hard steel!

Thanks a lot brother! What kind of hand digger do you use?
@@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti8964 lol, well I've used several different kinds and have lost them all. So now I use a screwdriver 👍
