Am I crazy for just wanting like, the look of the base game character sheets like Roll20 has? I really prefer that layout and look more than anything else I've come across so far
Hey, thank you for the mention! That was really kind of you. I'm sure it's the first of many super thanks, and your content keeps *me* coming back, so the channel will just keep growing. Thank you for the sheet recommendations, some of my new players were kinda disappointed by the default. Question: how do you know when to update? Now that I've got all the mods working, I've seen the update you mentioned and didn't get it for fear of breaking everything again. 😅 Is it just comparing your mods to see if they break and use your backup if they do? Or is a good rule of thumb. 'wait X releases before updating'? Thanks again for fielding my noob questions.
Thank you so much for the kind words! The least I could do is shout you out! When it comes to updating to the latest stable release of v10, if you’re already on v10, you should have no problems jumping to the latest version since it was a minor patch. If you’re jumping from an older version to v10 then it’s trickier. There is a danger some modules might break. I’m planning to make a video on this topic in the near future. In either case, definitely do backups of all your game worlds before updating.
@@DiceAndEasy Ireally like tidy 5e sheet, and the maximum amount of spells prepared that are shown in the bottom of the spells tab is always 0 it shows like 0/0... 1/0... 2/0... I had no problem iwht that before updating to foundry 11 and updating all my modules to the latest versions in december 2023. do you have any advice or have seen any problem like that? the version i m using is 0.10.0. I have tried using an alternative tidy sheet by kgar, but the lvl up buttons are not there and I find them really usefull. anyway... your videos are awesome, my migration from foundry 9 to 11 was smooth due to your advices in upgrading foundry
@@brenobaiardi3497 thanks for the kind words. The max amount of prepared spells doesn’t seem to update automatically so you need to do it manually. If you double click the 0 you can change it to whatever number you want.
The problems I've had with the default character sheet stem from how overly complex it is to make actions and moves compared to Roll20, I've also had a problem with the sheets glitching and not allowing PCs to level up, forcing us to remake the whole sheet
Trying to find this out, say I have a custom skill proficiency or tool proficiency, is it possible I can modify the default character sheet to add or remove such things?
eh sadly when I installed Obsidian, it asked me to do a migration, it started doing so, failed, got an error and I couldnt open character sheets anymore when Obsidian was set as default. also, tidy sheet went on hiatus or something, I only found out because i updated the module and now it doesnt even register as installed on my list and i cant use it anymore.
Huh, that is really weird. I’ve been using Tidy5e in Foundry v10 without an issue and the Obsidian migration worked fine. Sorry to hear those didn’t work out for you. Looks like the Tidy5e bug is a known issue and you can follow it here: github.com/sdenec/tidy5e-sheet/issues/778
Informative, thank you for the input. In the future if you do showcase video's like this. Could you show them more... you're talking a lot but just showing your face and it would be nice to see more of the character sheets and not the brief glimpses. Just a tiny critique, still good informative video thank you!

Dang that sucks! Have you tried the other sheets in this video?

Do the new char sheets work w the Beyond importer mod?
I can say that Tidy5e works with the Beyond Importer since I’ve tried that combo but can’t guarantee for the others. You can always give it a try!
