  • Following on from the previous video and by customer request, here is a quick demonstration to show you how I handle Cladophora before attaching it to hardscape. Simple but effective. The Cladophora grows slowly so great for low maintenance. I am still waiting to see how it grows long term and will post an updated video in a few months time.
    For everything you see in this video, and all other aquascaping supplies be sure to check out our website www.aquariumgar...
    You can view this tank in person at our dedicated aquascaping showroom and shop based near Huntingdon, UK. Open Mon-Sat.
    Cheers,
    Dave

    How is it over time? Any update videos? I've read that if part of it (bottom)doesn't get light, it will start dying and rot. That's why people roll it to a new position after a while. I'm curious how it went because I want to try this method to on a log.

    The aquarium looks fantastic, do you think Marimo Moss would work well as a wall, I was looking into normal aquarium Moss which seems to spread across the tank, so I am thinking Marimo Moss would be my best option.

    Does Co2 increase the growth rate of those marimo moss balls? I read that they only 5mm in diameter per year.

      You can put it in a mixer and shred it to pieces and it will still grow. That’s the magic of moss :D.

    When you use them like this does the bottom side of the marimo die because it never gets light?

      When in ball form only the outside surface of the ball receive light not the entire mass of the moss, like here, so no :)

    Beautiful aquascape and tank. But isn't iwugame the hardest style to maintain? I mean the ballance of the water in the tank must be very accurate, else the algae will bloom. Such stocking of tank could cause easly the inballance of the tank. Can you make 1year and more update for this tank please?

    Brilliant video Dave, this aquascape has to be one of my favourite Iwagumis! Is the taller grass in the background also Eleocharis acicularis mini? Also what is the smaller grey stone/gravel positioned on the sand in front of the rocks please?

    • @AquariumGardensAquascaping
      @AquariumGardensAquascaping  6 років тому +1

      Thanks Glenda! The back grass is Eleocharis acicularis (taller than the mini). The small detail grey stones at the front are Baikal Gravel - on our website 😊👍

    Hiya. I used your method and I loved the effect. However some areas of the moss have turned brown. I can't take the rocks and bonsai tree out. What can I do? Is my morimo moss dying? Please help.

    • @itzgoliath2016
      @itzgoliath2016 4 роки тому +1

      Not sure if you still need this but if it’s turning brown, that means that area is not getting enough light or that it’s just dirty. If it’s white, that means it’s getting too much light

    • @Danceswithfishes

      @@itzgoliath2016 never too late to learn something new. So thank you. However it is too late for the tree. The moss died. I replaced it with a piece of wood and anubias. 🤷🤷🤷

      Chapterhouse Dune aw really. What a shame. They’re typically so hardy. That’s pretty good though. I’m just getting into the hobby. A little over two weeks and still learning. About to scape my 10 gallon. I’m just waiting on all the plants and some panda Corydoras to come

      Fun fact: moss balls like the dark and cold, once a week or once every 2 weeks I "charge" my moss balls in a bowl of dechlorinated water. And leave them in the fridge for a day or 2. Then put them back in the tank.

      keep taking it and rolling it in the palms of your hand when changing the water. it will pop back.

    Assuming itl grow just the same if attached to wood? Sad to pull apart but at the same time I can’t get my hands on different/ unusual mosses here in Perth so this actually “could” be an alternative.
    .....to other viewers, Marino moss balls take an extremely long time to grow.

  • @justbaquatics2512

    Oh Dave cleaning my moss balls just rinse in squeeze method.

    • @AquariumGardensAquascaping
      @AquariumGardensAquascaping  6 років тому +2

      Squeezing them under running water to release any dirt before use, but once in the aquascape they won’t be removed.

    can i use any kind of glue to stick it at the rock?

    • @user-vv1qf1jk4z
      @user-vv1qf1jk4z 6 років тому +3

      The glue made for aquariums is generally just regular old superglue renamed. If you get a superglue that is pure Cyanoacrylate it is perfectly safe.

      No. It's a lot of algae that sticks together in a ball shape. If they get separated, they'll still live :)
