I will never forget another reviewer’s take on the “sad little crab cake” at the Coral Reef. And yet, Coral Reef will always have a special place in my heart because for my husband’s birthday the diver in the tank held up a sign by our table (I called months in advance to book it) wishing him a happy birthday. I still have the sign and it was 15 years ago.
I have been to Coral Reef several times and it has always been excellent. The last time we were there, we had a small crisis and had to go back to our hotel room. The management told us not to worry, they would seat us whenever we got back. We came back an hour later. They sat us very promptly and we had a great meal. Fantastic customer service.
For that desert, if you're celebrating something they put a "I'm celebrating" white chocolate sign on the cake. We got some when we went on our honeymoon/hubby's birthday and they surprised us with it ☺️
As a marine biologist working for an aquarium company...trade for a week? Come up to Pennsylvania and I'll let you follow me around work if you let me come to FL and visit theme parks with you for a week, lol.
The only issues I have with Coral Reef is the portion sizes (in 2015) of entrees is very small (with high price) and they got rid of the Baileys and Jack Daniel's mousse. Absolutely loved the mousse
I’d say experiences definitely vary because my husband and I ate at Coral Reef on our honeymoon and it was our favorite meal of the whole week we were there! He had the Mahi Mahi and said it was one of the best he’s ever had (that’s his usual choice of fish) and I had the cheesy shrimp and grits and it was phenomenal! Neither of us are huge seafood people, but we’d absolutely go back because our whole experience there was amazing! Our waitress was also so fun and her name was Mulan! Plus they gave us a complimentary dessert and it was to die for… I think it was a chocolate cake or brownie with raspberry syrup! 🤤😍
I think for Coral Reef, you're paying for the atmosphere and the ability to have a comfy seat in some A/C. Plus, like Molly I love watching the animals! Considering this one of the "all-time worst" restaurants at Disney, though ... ehhh, I don't think I agree with that assessment. In my experience the food isn't bad, it's just that there's better and usually less expensive elsewhere. But yeah, you can definitely do better but if you have a kid who loves the aquarium and you need an A/C break out of the hot sun and a chance to rest your feet, you can absolutely do much worse than Coral Reef!
We went to Coral Reef for our honeymoon in 2013. I’m not a big seafood guy but I tried the mahi mahi and fell in love with it. The server was amazing - found out about our honeymoon and brought us a special dessert to share. Still the best and most memorable meal I’ve ever had at WDW. Our family has grown since then and we go back almost every year but haven’t eaten again at Coral Reef because the consistently terrible reviews have put off other family members and made us wary of a decline in quality.
Coral Reef is 100% the Tony’s Town Square of Epcot. The real estate is perfect, but the food a mess. The chocolate wave dessert has been on the menu for over 10 years and is nothing special like the other dishes. The restaurant could be so much better, but never improves.
I’m always surprised I don’t hear more about coral reef… whether positive or negative. I have really fond memories of that place from my first two visits (as a child, then a teen). When I really got back into the Disney sphere a few years back I actually assumed it was gone because I never heard a single word about it from anyone. I’m excited to hear your thoughts of present day coral reef!
Hi molly!! thank you for your tip in your last video about how you can buy items from the disneyland parks online! I have placed my forst order and also bought same ariel ears that you had in this video! Hugs and kisses from Finland
my family and I have gone to coral reef a few times and has been excellent everytime! tbh california grill in the contemporary was very disappointing the past couple times we’ve gone and people love it! people have different expectations I guess :)
My 12 year old son and I ate at The Coral Reef restaurant for his birthday because of the connection to Full House (which we both love)! He and I both had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the food. My only complaint is that they overdid the arugula on my salmon lunch. Otherwise I would 100% go again and bring the rest of our family. Environment is super cool and the waitstaff is very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend. 😊
Molly - can you please visit The Flying Fish (and Narccoossee's for another head-to-head seafood challenge) when it reopens? I have always had AMAZINGLY memorable dining experiences at Flying Fish.
Todd English's Bluezoo at Disney World Dolphin hotel beats both of these by far for seafood. The swordfish and snapper was incredible. Price is much higher, but worth it.
Coral reef was a disappointment on our trip. The server was amazing and funny, the service was great, but because we were a party of 14, they couldn’t seat us close to the tank, we were on the higher level. So, it was average… world showcase will be our next choice. (Don’t know which one, so many choices!!!)
@@captchaossega I love Morocco, I went for less adventurous the first time because of our big group, but next time, it’s just our little family, so Morocco is on my list LOL Thanks!
First time we went to Disney we thought it would be great to eat at Coral Reef because of the fish tank experience. Food was so disappointing and it was on our first day at Disney. Went on to have much better experiences and learned to really do our research on different places for our next trip.
"first time we went" . . . how long ago? if you follow all the vloggers (WDW News and more) you would have known the chef changed hands a few times in the last three years. So, unprofessional and wrong to say " the first time . . ." (1986?) and give a poor review. I ate there 3 times last fall/winter and food was excellent; exactly as in this video. We always ask for "The Catch of the Day." Begin your negative reviews with a time line.
My son got a scuba lesson at the aquarium & was able to feed the fish & the turtle. It was a special gift for his graduation. I don’t know if they are doing this right now but it is worth asking.
Coral Reef seems to be like the rainforest or dinoland cafe, youre only really going to eat there for the experience (especially with kids) than you are for the food.
Thank you for posting this, so helpful to us seafood lovers! We did Paddlefish last time specifically for the chocolate creme brulee. 😁 But now I can't wait to try the boathouse. I had Gibson's steak in Chicago and it was the best steak of my life. Throw in some tuna and oysters for appetizers with that amazing looking strawberry shortcake for dessert and I will cry happy tears lol.
I’ve only been to the Coral Reef once. Didn’t care for it, but I always try twice. Thanks for the review. The Flying Fish was fantastic! Surprised you didn’t go there.
Took a girlfriend to the coral once, ONCE I spent my entire pay check as a 19 year old, Cared less about the food was all about the date and the view of the tank.
Hubby and kids had steak here and said it was one of the best steaks they had ever had! And my tuna was stellar!! Can’t wait to go back after seeing this video!
The only issue I have with Coral Reef is that they changed the Chocolate Wave. I distinctly remember it being an actual chocolate sculpture of chocolate! Am I misremembering??
I must have gone to the Boathouse on a bad day, because we where so disappointed with the food we had, so disappointed I cancelled my second reservation
My group of 6 friends (some with allergy issues) have been there twice and everyone had a great experience. I am not a fish person but my steak was excellent. However, I know a lot of people give it bad reviews-glad I haven't experienced that yet.
The last time we at Coral Reef, we waited over a hour to be seated. So we lost a hour of park time to just to wait for a table. Not again. Yes the tank is cool, the food was ok but there is better in WDW.
I had the WORST fish and chips at The Boat House. I think dirty and tough shoe bottoms would have been better. I think it was spoiled. My husband said “ If can’t be that bad” until he took a bite. He WHOLEHEARTEDLY agreed and we haven’t been back since. Two things that we did like was the impeccable service and the charm of the restaurant.
You asked how you can feed the fish. You may not be able to feed the fish but you can dive there. There is a diving tour at Epcot. Get certified and go dive. Great experience.
I feel I had a very skewed take on Coral Reef. I ate there during the pandemic and there were literally 4 other tables of people there when I was there. We sat right up next to the front corner of the tank. It was so quiet and the turtle was hanging out with us all meal. The steak I had was fine, I had so much fun watching the sea life that I would recommend anyone to eat there. Even just seeing how busy the restaurant was from this video, I'm so glad I ate there when I did.
I love both of these restaurants. Coral Reef at one time had the best swordfish on property. Now, Boat House my fav go to is the obviously the porterhouse (when using the dining plan) and then the filet oscar style. Topped with an after dinner Vieux Carre.
Worst meal I ever had was at Coral Reef. It was so bad they comped my meal when I hadn’t even complained. They could see I’d barely eaten three bites I guess.
I have been to the Coral Reef restaurant many times over the last 20 years . Very nice atmosphere! Your able to cool down, and it keeps kid’s entertained. Over all the food has slipped over the years! I’m sorry to say! This is usually my husband favorite! We always keep trying. You’re right about a lot better food in the world showcase!
Me watching every single Molly video - "I think we would be best friends." My reaction to the part where she says she wanted to be a marine biologist at one point 🤯 (girl, me too) we are the same person 🤣🤣
We have used Coral Reef or the Garden Grill for granddaughters-night cut-the-parents-for-a-date-night-out. Garden Grill wins. But, in terms of places to go for fish… we have been to Boat House & Paddle Fish… but our favorite restaurant for seafood I. WDW is Flying Fish. Hands down.
Isn't Coral Reef the restaurant that allows you to go scuba diving in the tank? Obviously not during the pandemic, but before 2020? If that comes back I would LOVE to see Molly try it out!! Sure seemed like she'd want to do it in this video!
It’s been a while since Molly’s plant-based day at Disney; would love a throwdown of vegan entrees at the parks for those of us who don’t eat meat/fish!
Not trying to preach, but I'm glad Molly doesn't do Sea World videos. The documentary Blackfish is eye opening and explores how they abuse their animals and only care about making a profit. I'll never support them.
I might be burying the lead here, but The Boathouse just seems too loud for my taste. I would rather sit and look at the big aquarium in the Coral Reef while I eat.
Not even close to the worst!!! Tutta Italia in the Italy pavilion was far in a way the most horrible food I have ever eaten on property. Think Chef boyardee is better and doesn’t cost 159.00 for two people. Never again for that disaster! We like Coral reef and have eaten there multiple times.
I will never forget another reviewer’s take on the “sad little crab cake” at the Coral Reef. Well that's cool 😎
I love the Coral reef. Great times were had there!

The only thing that would have made this video better is if Molly went over to say Hello to Mr. Eel!
I love when Molly visits Mr. Eel
I would feel awkward eating seafood in front of a bunch of fish 🐠
As a marine biologist working for an aquarium company...trade for a week? Come up to Pennsylvania and I'll let you follow me around work if you let me come to FL and visit theme parks with you for a week, lol.
My favorite part: when Molly says "(gasp) TWO sharks" 😂
Love the Boathouse , especially the crab and avocado salad . Molly : where did you get those crystal Mickey earrings. I love them !!
I had so much fun watching molly geek out over the sharks. Brilliant molly.
The only issues I have with Coral Reef is the portion sizes (in 2015) of entrees is very small (with high price) and they got rid of the Baileys and Jack Daniel's mousse. Absolutely loved the mousse

No i really despise the Italian disaster that is terralina. We were so excited and really we should have gone to Enzos hideaway!
Amazing vid, as always. I would love to see a throw down between Shula’s and Yachtsman’s. Thank you!

I’ve been waiting for this video.. this is the day I saw Molly at Epcot!!! She is sooo awesome!
Coral Reef is 100% the Tony’s Town Square of Epcot. The real estate is perfect, but the food a mess. The chocolate wave dessert has been on the menu for over 10 years and is nothing special like the other dishes. The restaurant could be so much better, but never improves.
2nd try. Any at the world showcase feels like a better option.
I wish Coral Reef did breakfast. It would be such a great location for a classic disney family style breakfast
LOVE those mermaid ears, Molly!! 😍. Also, would love to know where your earrings are from (that you were wearing at the Boathouse). So pretty!
I’m in love with Molly’s red cruise line ears ❤️❤️
ME TOO!❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
I’m always surprised I don’t hear more about coral reef… whether positive or negative. I have really fond memories of that place from my first two visits (as a child, then a teen). Here's the real question - what kind of lipstick does Molly use?! I am just amazed in every video how she eats and it doesn't smear or go anywhere! 🤯
my family and I have gone to coral reef a few times and has been excellent everytime! tbh california grill in the contemporary was very disappointing the past couple times we’ve gone and people love it! people have different expectations I guess :)
Looking forward to our June reservation. Happy with all the positive comments.

How about comparing Boathouse to Paddlefish being they are both at Disney Springs.
Coral reef was a disappointment on our trip. Be adventurous and try Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco. Was our 'grand finale' meal on our final night. I really enjoyed it.
@@captchaossega I love Morocco, I went for less adventurous the first time because of our big group, but next time, it’s just our little family, so Morocco is on my list LOL Thanks!
They need to present their dishes neater, a lot of spills and food around the plate. That makes all the difference!
First time we went to Disney we thought it would be great to eat at Coral Reef because of the fish tank experience. Food was so disappointing and it was on our first day at Disney. Went on to have much better experiences and learned to really do our research on different places for our next trip.

The fact that some people in these comments feel the need to defend an overpriced disney restaurant they have no relation to is real weird.
And you insult strangers you have no relation to.
When Epcot was young it was a decent restaurant. Greed has destroyed most things Disney sts.
My son got a scuba lesson at the aquarium & was able to feed the fish & the turtle. It was a special gift for his graduation. I don’t know if they are doing this right now but it is worth asking.
Throwdown...Beast's Castle vs Cinderella's Castle. If splurging on an overpriced meal at the Magic Kingdom, Belle or Cinderella?
I loved grilled fish but in fast paced dining environments, I’ve noticed it’s often dried out and over cooked….😕
I would love to see a whole food plant based throw down 🥑🫑🧅🧄🥒🥬🥦🌽🥔🍓🍎🍌🥥🍍
Yes.. Friday work watching content

That was a one and done for me. I love seafood but this was a meh for me..
yawl imma say what Molly is far too nice to say ...There are LOADS of WAYYYYY BETTER SEAFOOD in Orlando...Boston Lobster House is one ..
Wow, that music is loud at the Boathouse. I like the music, but I would have to rethink going there just because I wouldn't be able to hear anyone.
I must have gone to the Boathouse on a bad day, because we where so disappointed with the food we had, so disappointed I cancelled my second reservation
And husband got horrendous food poisoning from the raw oysters at Boathouse🤢

Your Mickey ears are everything.
Unsurprisingly the longest review of all time with Molly would not be a horrible thing to watch. Especially considering there are sharks.
We should make Molly a shirt that says "I'm sweet, but not too too sweet."
Tusker House vs Yak and Yeti
I love Coral Reef! I could feast on the Lobster Bisque , bread and desserts alone!
You asked how you can feed the fish. You may not be able to feed the fish but you can dive there. There is a diving tour at Epcot. Get certified and go dive. Great experience.

Great review😎. Molly: L❤️VE the ears…. Which ones are they & where can I get them? I think they are so dang cute❣️

I’ve eaten there twice and I enjoyed the Coral Reef very much!
Does Molly know there is a whole shark themed restaurant with an aquarium at Sea World?
Worst meal I ever had was at Coral Reef. It was so bad they comped my meal when I hadn’t even complained. They could see I’d barely eaten three bites I guess.
Would have been interesting to throw Paddlefish in the mix!
@AllEars Molly I need to find a place nearby with great crab legs!
Another great video, Molly! Your nautical ears are so freaking cute 😍
I have been to the Coral Reef restaurant many times over the last 20 years . Very nice atmosphere! Your able to cool down, and it keeps kid’s entertained. Great reviews.Appreciate the honesty
I’ve actually eaten at the Coral Reef several time and I love the Mahi-mahi.
The fact that this is a Molly video is the only reason I'm here. My normal mantra is "if it comes from the sea, it's not for me."
I'd like to see Tony's Town Square vs Via Napoli. I've heard some pretty bad stuff about Tony's.
Me watching every single Molly video - "I think we would be best friends." My reaction to the part where she says she wanted to be a marine biologist at one point 🤯 (girl, me too) we are the same person 🤣🤣
I'm with you -- always say she and I would be BFFs, and I even went to marine biology camp when I was a kid. And my name is Kelsey. :)
Does anyone know why the Boathouse uses those particular four signal flags? (Charlie Bravo Oscar Foxtrot)
Love all your videos Molly! Where are the mermaid ears from?
i have seen red grouper at publix for like $25/LB so that is a nice piece. i have seen it as high as $36/LB.
Hey Molly yes The Boat 🛥 House has nice food for a reasonable price. 💕💕💜😍
Do you have any videos on Disney world food for celiac disease + veganism ? I’m going this winter and am terrified I won’t find anything
We have used Coral Reef or the Garden Grill for granddaughters-night cut-the-parents-for-a-date-night-out. Garden Grill wins.

We NEED a Molly at Sea World video NOW!!!
Not trying to preach, but I'm glad Molly doesn't do Sea World videos. The documentary Blackfish is eye opening and explores how they abuse their animals and only care about making a profit. I'll never support them.
Do you finish meals or take leftovers home? Given the price of meals.
Hi Molly - Thanks for taking one for the team! 😆 Appreciate your review of a couple of the seafood joints at WDW. 🦈
My mom and I love grouper and that is our favorite
Love you Molly!!
Mahi Mahi is easy to mess up
I might be burying the lead here, but The Boathouse just seems too loud for my taste. I would rather sit and look at the big aquarium in the Coral Reef while I eat.
Lede. Burying the lede.
Is there anything to eat that isn't shell fish? The restaurant looks awesome but, seafood doesn't like me.
Molly, could you possibly critique the food on flavor OTHER than how spicy an item is? Not everything needs to have HEAT to be flavorful.
Love those ears!!!!
Molly, another great video and you are wearing those ears!!! Love all your videos!!!
🙌 yes!!! Both were so cute!!!
I love the ears!
Oh that, yes. Yikes. Tragic. Please don’t subject yourselves to trash food. You’re better off eating a quick service meal at Magic Kingdom.
Where can I get those Little Mermaid ears?
Obviously it's not currently open but I thought it was widely agreed upon that Boatwrights was the worst restaurant in Disney.
