  • July 2014, we went with my friends David and Aurélien on one of the most classic alpine basejump exit in the french alps : l'Olan (3564m, Ecrins National Parc). Climbing an alpine route, leaping of a big mountain, turning around and changing valleys during an endless flight is one of the most amazing thing you can enjoy with a wingsuit. And if you can share a nice 2 way, it's better!
Once you're used to that kind of flight and adventure, you're just dreaming of more new ones, conventional jumps almost look bland...
After Grandes Jorasses and Aiguille Dibona, it was one of the big lines planned to fly on season 2014. Several others followed ;-)
    -----------------------------

Amazing how the flight time was EXACTLY 2 minutes before the two opened their chutes! (More FLYING than falling)!

You can tell they have a lot of experience and technique. They can glide higher (more horizontally) when they choose to. I know that wingsuits are very responsive to your body movements but man they make it look way easier than it must be.

Er...... Wow. I love watching wingsuit videos. They often drive me mad for just been a million and one short clips. This was ace! I'd love to wingsuit. I have dreamed about flying since I can remember. I'm 43 now, too old??? Used to climb all the time, mountain bike took over. Ski of a winter. Bla bla. Parachuted once. Love adrenalin!

🐶👊.. Blummin feel it sometimes 😁. I'm a bit mashed. Neck, shoulder, arm and hand issues 😶... But I suppose I could still physically go wingsuiting. ... The last few nights I've been dreaming of flying. Love it! It's probably helped by the Codeine 😎.

Black n Tan you're 40, so i'm assuming you have a bit of money put aside, i'm 18 and ive done my aff this summer, i'm at 14 jumps now, and i hope to do wingsuit one day, but i'm struggling a bit to do jumps because of lack of money, pretty hard at my age ^^ but you probably have easily a few grand put aside and have an income, so stop waiting around and fucking jump ^^ at your age actually you can progress much faster than a guy my age because you have a job! and hand and shoulder issues aren't an excuse especcially for skydiving, its not very physically demanding !

Haha... 😉. I wish! ... Though I don't blame you for your assumptions. Ok... I'll spill it. I'm 44, and was very active all my life till a bit over a year ago. I did the sports as mentioned in my first comment , and worked in rope access for twenty years. Had neck and other issues for many years, had a tumble down a mountain while skiing a few years ago, and my shoulder was suffering for months... Got scanned... That showed a few issues in neck / root nerves. Told to crack on as best as I could... Stay active... Bla bla... Might require surgery in years to come. So ... Last spring it all went down hill quite quickly. Neck git scanned again, it is worse and causing some but not all the pains I have. My right arm for instance, gives me loads of grief but it's not my neck. I could go on, you get the picture 📷. So, I'm not working now, was on sick benefits but now been put on jobseekers allowance, so looking for part time work, that doesn't involve using arms n hands much. Typing this gives me grief😶. I'm over drawn, and have a mortgage. Want to buy my INTENSE 5.5 Mountain bike 🚲😉. However, 😁... I'm going to phone a House sitting agency tomorrow and try and get on the books, for paid house sitting. I can do that! I have a friend that does it ... Not through agency, and gets a £1000 yes one thousand pounds a week, when she sits (16 weeks a year fir one couple 💑) she knows a woman who was getting £400 a week throug agency... That's a good start. ... Right! Where's my drugs? ... 😉👊🐶

Black n Tan so whats all that to do with not being able to skydive ? you can skydive wth all those issues i guarantee it. and as for hat house sitting, what do u do, sit all day ? i don't quite grasp of what it consists of and why yo get payed, but anyway do you have money ? or are you broke ?

Man, this shit is so cool!! I wish so badly that I could go. This would be a good wingsuit flight for me, I don't want to slim the ground, at least not at first lol. This would feel like you're flying too, but not be swoopin through trees. So cool. The flight wouldn't bother me, but that climb! Lol I don't know if I would climb the mountain, might need a drop off from a chopper.

    • @Lejouy
      @Lejouy  5 років тому +1

Yes it's nice flight but for real experience alpine base jumpers. Chopper drop off is illegal in France. And even more in this place that is the core of Ecrins National Park as just even flying an helicopter illegal. But wingsuiting by fair means is allowed.
Actually, chopper drop off is a bit pussy style when it comes to talk about big mountain wingsuiting ;-)

      @@roryevans8109
first you try that at home on a easy practice jump you know well.
Then there are plenty of differents way to store the gear but one of the common one is :
-Poles or ice axe (mounted with screws as you can take of the pick of it) along the out side the leg in the socks and pant (or in the pole straps of your suit is there are)
      - rope long coiled in between the legs passed in the leg loop of the climbing harness and bottom in the socks
      - the stash bag is flat on the back, you put the crampons well pack on eachother at the bottom it and set the straps very loose for them to be on your butt, lower than you rig. Then you put suit and rig on.
      - biners, ice screws, cams are on the harness gear loops.
      - all our clothes on you
      - waterpocket empty flat in the stash bag
      - that's it.
