An instrument that weeps, laments, sobs, entreats, whispers, soars, moans and mourns...terrifying, haunting and exalted, especially in these two magicians' hands. Yes, I meant magicians for there is something almost occult in the way they make the viola sing. Thank you!
Never knew about this beauteous and soulful duet for two violas.....how can I ever hear anyone play this better....they stole my soul in the best way....
I have just started the viola, after having played the cello many years ago. I recall Frank bridge had some wonderful cello scores, and this is as wonderful as well. An inspirational performance. Bravo!
Perfect! Wonderful! What a tuning between the two musicians! I agree with Jan Klassiek (wrote below ...) This is to listen again, again, again! Congratulations to Paul Neubauer and Richard O'Neill
There is an edition in playing score (both parts on the page) published in 2012 by Edition Niedernhausen. It's available from Sheet Music Plus and maybe from other sellers - not cheap.

What serious beautiful pathos.
it's interesting looking at the two different ways of holding the instrument and shoulder posture.
Two of the best players you are likely to hear today.

Well, back to the practice room for me! The bar is high and it ain’t getting any closer with me sitting on my ass.
Phenomenal playing with deep emotions!! Mr Bridge would have said: Thank you, you know what I knew!

Sure do not appreciated when there is no mention of the two soloists! Fine players for sure.
They are credited in the description.
