- It's time to make our Ducati Diavel V4 sing!
So far we have done only the essential mods to our Diavel V4, like the NRC fender eliminator kit, CRG bar end mirrors, Evotech radiator & oil cooler guards, TWM fuel cap and so on, but after taking it to the dyno last episode and setting some baseline power numbers, we can finally begin the big mods!
And we start out with a roar by installing the new Termignoni Dragster exhaust. The process is very simple; the most difficult part was just lining up all the carbon fiber pieces. And don't let pictures deceive you, this thing looks amazing in person.
But, the most important thing is the sound. And it sounds incredible. This is one of the loudest exhausts we have heard, and it makes the V4 Granturismo engine sound like nothing else!

Why the Termi and not the Akra? I'll never buy a Termi again, they are just too loud and honestly, Akra just makes a better product all around.
Can't wait to hear Akrapovic and Termignoni comparison. At first I didn't quite like how this exhaust looks, but I have to admit that I like it more and more. This Diavel V4 series is a great inspiration for me. Good job👍

Definitely looks way better on video than it did in the photos BUT I still think they could have come up with an overall better design. The sound though, wow love it.
Sound is just insane. You need to get down to the sunshine state for you to see it in person! If you still don't like it, I can offer you a glass of smoked scotch or two to see if it changes your mind.
Agreed. Termi always has such nice looking exhaust and this was a bit of a let down to me. I don’t think it actually compliments this bike. The Akra looks way better in my opinion. Can’t argue it’s that Termi sound though.
If they change the design at all so does the sound most these companies focus on performance rather then tone but this company looks to be focused on tone rather then max performance which I’m all for even changing the length of pipe changes the sound and unfortunately a lot of pretty exist for bikes don’t sound the greatest in comparison to ones like these

I would say still considerably louder than the factory exhaust!
FYI you WILL need a deep socket 10mm for the exhaust clamps I also recommend a ratcheting 10mm wrench, a 4mm stubby Allen key, and really think about the position of the clamps because they are inaccessible entirely once the carbon fiber is on

I realize that most people prefer to see a guy in a ripped t-shirt and ripped jeans on the highway at 300 km/h, and that's what gets views. How loud is it in real life when keeping it below 4K RPM? I want to be respectful to my neighbours in early morning but I wonder if db killers kills sound character.
I heard one with the dB killer just yesterday and happy to report it does not mute the sound too much. I think just enough to get through some sensitive neighborhoods. But then again, I think under 4k rpm, without the dbkillers you can drive out of your neighborhood.

Looks heaps better. I have a Diavel 1260S with the Termi. The db killers stay in because the paranoia of being stopped by the Police is too much to live with.

So what happened about cylinder deactivation now when you changed the Bren tuning map to Termingnoni?
Cylinder deactivation is removed with Brentuning, but Termignoni still uses it. I think it is a must to keep it on, it gets way too hot without it.

I'm still not sold on the looks which is just as well as I bought the Akropovic Spitfire exhaust. Would be interested in a sound comparison though. I like the little red insert above the headlight, what is that?

Trying to find a local Diavel V4 with an Akra to get the comparison video out
to be honest, i never liked the diavel as a bike. but this v4 diavel, looks so different, yet "familiar". and the termi exhaust actually looks good in the video, rather than the photos termi has on their website, i still think the older diavel v2 termi looks the best though.
Don't you think the Diavel V2 termi looks like there is something missing under there?

I got to the last step and I can't wiggle out the muffler. What is the trick??? Did you loosen the rear header bolts? Or do I need to just keep wiggling on it?
Didn’t losen the header bolts. Removing the rear tire may help. Just first remove the rear header joint from the muffler and then remove the front one.

Aftermarket exhaust’s are just too expensive to justify. I see Ducati released a full black cover for the stock exhaust. Looks way better. €500 here.

Don’t get me wrong the termi looks great. So does the akro version. Unfortunately, not road legal here and you’d absolutely be stopped for bursting ear drums 😂
My only option is ducatis black titanium cover. Looks great and hides the hideous chrome pipes of original set up.

wonderful sound, deep and full-bodied. However, I don't like the difference in the positioning of the exhausts on the two sides, one vertical and the other horizontal😩
No way to have them symmetrical.

Of course it does. We have a video showing before and after dyno.

@@MotomillionAwesome I just ordered the exhaust and end mirrors. I'll add the filter as well. As a note I already had my stock exhaust servo assembly replaced as it tore itself up at 8,000 miles I have 12,000 so far on my Ducati Diavel V4. The exhaust sound will now match the bike! I like that the db killers can be swapped in or out as well.
I also like the way you can see more of the floating wheel which is not blocked by the fake four barrel exhaust tip. Looks meaner.

How does the Termi UpMap feel compared to the BT-Moto flash?
Similar, although the BT Moto flash we put was a beta map so it is not a fair comparison. We can give a proper answer to this once we have the full map.
Upmap t800 maps are really good maps (I just installed the gabro racing one on my aprilia). I'd stick with that map personally...
Can my pikes peak sound like this?
Probably close, I think the pikes peak does not have the Granturismo V4 which makes them sound inherently different.

Sound is better, but I really can NOT believe someone to replace that beautiful designed (the stock) with this! Of course I will not do it to get that good sound. Shape and good looking is more important to me.
It is a balancing act, the stock exhaust looked good, but sounded horrible, lets not forget the 20lbs of weight savings too. The termi looks great and sounds fantastic!

@Motomillion I do....owner of Detroit Ducati said it does. When Acra exhaust came out they said it was the only exhaust you could use on V4 or it would void warranty. I like the Termignoni sound the best. Had one on my 1260S
This is bullshit. They have to prove your mods actually caused the problem. Maggnussen moss warranty act. Your dealer is lying to get sales
The Akro looks better and sounds to me like a '50s Gilera or Mondial howl.

But I like akrapovic full system exhaust more than this exhaust.
Both are great, Akra is more droney and higher pitched compared to Termignoni’s deeper tone.
That really needed to be changed out. The stock exhaust was horrible.

@@Motomillion : the stock exhaust was embarrassing to be honest. Didn’t match the bike at all considering Ducatis are all race bikes at heart. They must do that on purpose because they know exactly what they’re doing.

Sounds great but that look is just not for me i'm afraid! Especially for the cost of these small bits of exhaust. I have an x-diavel and will not part with over 2k for a silly little exhaust. It's just robbery imo I got a full straight through system for my GSX 1400 which was 4 downpipes, Double link pipe and Two rear silencers for £500
not keen on the look of any of the exhausts available for this new model Diavel, i personally think they need to go back to the drawing board with these systems akra/termi....awful

The instructions that come with this exhaust are awful. For $4000 they can’t afford to print them in color? I can’t even tell what I am looking at the picture are so bad. And you couldn’t have taken a bit more effort to show each step since you are selling it?
Unfortunately we do not make instructional videos. The reference on the instructions are actually not bad, but I believe the color version is available through Termi’s website. The sound will be worth it.
