My opinion is by the time Ford get there act together they will be in serious trouble. Because they have next to nothing here in the uk to sell. No Mondao no fiesta and the focus is set to end production next year. Basically they sell the kuga and puma
Hope we see the back of new SUV EV models soon and the auto industry goes back to making normal cars again. UK seems to be sticking to 2030 for phase-out of new ICE cars, so EVs will need to be more varied in terms of price in preparation for most car owners switching in the UK and EU.
Loved line VW doesn’t think much of id4 MEB platforms, Ford is thrilled. VW tying in with XPeng, with Chinese software. Much like Toyota raved about obsolete version of Tesla Y, when 'unboxed', 48v wireless, $1k drive unit, $25k car is in wings. Legacy is so dead, missed their own funeral.
If a car company doesn’t make and sell 0 emissions cars, then they are required to either pay punitive taxes or pay “ eco credits “ to other companies that do. For example they may have to pay money to Tesla. Regardless, Ford is seriously lacking behind in EV technology. Even Stellantis is ahead of them.
Two things that are weird is that the Volkswagen Automotive Group and Honda are teaming up with other companies that are losing money on every vehicle, but they won't team up/license Tesla's platform and just put a body on it.. like, seriously, why is Ford teaming up with Volkswagen & using the MEB platform and why is Honda teaming up with General Motors to use the Ultium platform? It doesn't make sense from a financial standpoint. Oh and VWAG is using the SAIC platform, total cluster.
Ford is better off just buying Canoo and making that Its totally different from Cybertruck so it will not compete. It doesnt even have to haul much. People just want something useful they can throw bags of mulch or an ATV or bikes in the back.
Unless Ford can change to an LFP pack matching cost and energy density of the new one from CATL Tesla are going to use, then they just wont be competitive
Sad! Ford will cancel the whole thing soon. VW is making that car for Ford as you said and VW has already complied with these new standards and will do so in Ford's vehicle. I pity Ford.... they are going to go down with a whimper rather than stand and fight. If Ford starts opening up factories in Mexico then look for them to ditch the UAW and slowly close US factories in order to stay solvent.
Wouldn’t be better buying the new Volvo EX 30 ev as it’s also identical but better and costs less starting at £33795 in UK. Ford at £40000 in UK and ID4 at £40275 in UK
Customer hesitation with Ford based on quality, price, and yes, they got the name wrong. Cross over buyers don't want a mustang and mustang buyers don't want an SUV. Offer 100K warranty, drop the price and change the name. That being said 100k warranty would likely put Ford out of business.
@@zoobrizz Its not a startup. They are existing business and we have heard for a decade. Union workers? whose fault is that. Rapid depreciation. No. Only because of prices dropping to get tax credit. My Ev is still worth what i paid. Legacy cost? whats that? you mean all the ICE cars not selling? yes, that's a cost EVs are the only cars selling. This is why GM extended the Bolt production. Why would they do that if they cant sell them
Mach-e is BLECH. Explorer EV looks great. If I’m going to get a tall SUV, I want the full practicality of an SUV, not a low, long front hood that is a waste of space.
If Ford wants to deliver a high quality EV, they should completely scrap this Explorer and either find a better platform to build it on, or design one themselves. All MEB based EVs are shite. 2025 aint that far if this crap ass Explorer wouldn’t be out until mid 2024 anyway.. just wait till 2025 to bring out a new one based on your own platform
A long time ago, I heard that 2 of the worlds largest but also most arrogant automotive manufacturers were planning to work together. After years of strategic planning and consultation with the WEF, many woke ideologies later and I expect, a lot of infighting; forgetting what's important while planning to axe their best selling vehicles, this is their new position 😂 Great work 😂😂😂
Bull SHIT….. Ford knows the VW batteries are total rubbish, Ford is fitting LFP to the standard range and CATL jenseng LFP to the long range. Ford had to give a rubbish reason as it cannot offend VW who are also charging to CATL LFP. You haven’t done your homework!!
Great video! Can you do a “special” video on how you put out so many videos so quickly.
With just a change of some sheet metal, the Mach-e could pass for a family SUV, yes.
there is an over capacity of battery manufacturing at least for CATL
I could swear I saw that car yesterday on a Chicago expressway. The grill stands out

Lol 😂 Take your time Ford.

The legacy auto makers should produce a small and cheap car that can by repaired easily by their owner. A true folks car.
Hi Viking!!!
👍
Hello there!
@@electricviking hello from northern Germany! I enjoy alllll your top Content!
EV9 is here already! I wonder how mucv its gonna be. R1S is a killer though! Its just so freakin expensive

Why would Ford want to hurry on losing even more money on EVs?
Yes, Sam seems to think they should all be selling unprofitable cars.
Market Share like Tesla did 12 years ago until they started money, so RIP Ford!

Any excuse to slow the great changeover
I see news about European, US and Japanese legacy auto companies - I instantly know that they will crack me up.

EX30 is very small esp rear seat space. The Explorer (euro version) will be substantialy larger..

They wont lose money on electric car sales if they make good electric cars.
People will pay a premium for the best.
Hilarious. The startup cost. Legacy cost . Union workers. Rapid depreciation and no one wants the anxiety.
