I do want to address that I didn't re-cover the Marvel MegaMorphs in this video, and I did do research and even wrote a script and recorded audio, but I really am not happy with it. I have trouble thinking of a dog that looks less like Gargomon than a Galgo. And this is the part of the franchise that gave us Dobermon, the digimon that is just a Doberman. Sir I'm sorry but I have to express doubts as to your claim. Yes I realize this is the franchise that gave us a mouse with long tufted ears wearing cat paws and calling itself a cat but really being a mouse, and a dinosaur wearing a wolf skin, but come on. Among other things, Terriermon's paletteswap is Lopmon. That's a rabbit. Its evolved forms Turuiemon and Antylamon are clearly rabbits. A galgo isn't even a kind of terrier, it's about as far from one as you can get. Both of them have pawpads yeah but lots of cartoon rabbits do.
@KairuHakubi I'm mostly talking about name inspirations and slight design details. Now that you mention it, there actually is something that sets Terriermon and Lopmon apart from being complete palette swaps, other than their horns. Terriermon has a more pointed dog tail while Lopmon has a standard bunny tail. It ain't much, but it's something. Besides, you can always look it up if you're skeptical. I did, just to make sure I wasn't spewing a load of hot air
@@KairuHakubi I know someone has already stated a few reasons as to why Terriermon is a dog and not a rabbit but the big one is it's intended final evolution in tamers, Mega Gargomon, or as it's originally named in Japanese, Saint Galgomon. A mix of Saint Bernard and Galgo along with the "mon" that every digimon has. If you look at it's design then you'll definitely notice that it's head is much more evocative of a dog than a rabbit. Sure Lopmonn and Terriermon have similar appearances but that's mostly due to it's role in it's first anime debut, as well as it's first debut ever, Digimon Adventure 02 the Movie: Hurricane Touchdown as Willis' partner digimon, a status it shares with Lopmon. TLDR; Terriermon is a dog, Lopmon is a rabbit, deal with it.
here in Brasil in the early 2000s we had a magazine subscription called revista recreio in which each new edition came with a toy to collect, and there were several collections like the numerix were robots that transformed into numbers, the mega letrixs which were robots that transformed into household appliances and rock animal which were animals that transformed into rocks. It was really cool, each issue came with a comic strip explaining the lore and if you collected them all, usually they would combine into a Megazord.
The xenomorph transforming into a cube is, I believe, a callback to a deleted scene from the original Alien film. They wanted to make the xenomorph appear otherworldly so they came up with the idea that it would fold up into a cube when it was hiding/resting. I don't think they ever got the special effect to look good enough so it was scrapped.

Cyclops was my first Beastdrive and he is amazing! If you can spend $70-80, he is definitely worth it in my opinion. His pilot has more articulation and can use the drone as a jetpack, and the back area that turns into his pile-drivers can open up to form a little platform that I like to use as a sort of meeting spot for the BD pilots. Right now I only have him and Pterano, but I'll definitely be getting more as well as plenty more Beastboxes! 52toys is killing it with these things!

When I was a kid there was this toy line called turning mecard they were basically mini transformers that would hit these cards and they’d spring load transform into little robots or animals
@ I remember how hard the toys were to find I could only ever get them on Amazon, target, and for some reason a grocery store chain called Safeway and that grocery store was the only one that had final few wave toys. And another reason they probably got discontinued was spin master during Mattel over mecard and other series for some reason
I had as kid transforming TMNT figures. I got a Splinter that could transform into the Turtle Van, Michelangelo who transforms into a regular turtle and Bebob who could change between his wild boar and human form
Also I watched this video now on my name day, which is like a birthday, so this makes me very happy, especially with digimon, and digimon fusion here! (Also good luck on making that new video with mentioning Yo-kai Watch and its transforming figures) :)
Digimon genuinely is one of my favorite franchises. It works so much to me because you literally never know what your Digimon is going to become. A good example from the original show is Patamon becoming Angemon. Everyone else was basically sticking to the same theme and then suddenly we got a guinea pig turning into an angel. That changed everything
Yey, Neo Shifters yet again mentioned!! Their pin holes are compatible with Lego's Pin Pretty cool for weird MOCs Just wished their quality is better, all the big humanoid ones I have now suffering osteoporosis
For the next video on this topic, how about covering Voov, a toyline from Bandai that have a vehicle that transform into another vehicle, though they transform in a similar fashion to the Jurassic Park Double Danger. There are some sets that can combine into a robot. Another toyline is Mojibakeru, a candy toy from Bandai and Corocoro that feature Kanji that turns into animals.
11:55 The Pteranodon is a Pterosaur not a dinosaur & there’s no pterosaur that is called a pterodactyl (besides pterodactylus). 16:57 It was portrayed as very animalistic to show that herbivores are notoriously aggressive if they are provoked. 22:31 His design was based on the Japanese rhinoceros beetle not a hercules/heracles beetle.
same thing dude, that's why the pokemon one was called Heracross And it seems odd to say 'no such thing as pterodactyl, oh, except pterodactyl' but yeah it does bug me when people call pteranodons that. In fairness, 'pterodactyl' would have been a fine name for 'pterosaur' if they had gone that way.
Yee. Bandai stopped importing the Japanese moulds for their various series - Power Rangers, Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya), Digimon, etc. - around the time of Adventure 02. The Japanese Armor-Digivolving toys were modular, to a degree, for instance. E.G. A Veemon figure - packaged with the Digimental/Digiegg of Courage, with Friendship and Miracles being sold separately - that became the core of Flamedramon/Raidramon/Magnamon, with the eggs disassebling into armor pieces.
Fun fact: Digimon: The Movie was directed by Mamoru Hosoda, alongiside Shigeyasu Yamauchi, who directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, and Belle!
I've got myself kind of addicted to Beastboxes too; I already knew of them, but picked up my first 5 when I happened to find them in a toy store on holiday in Korea... since then I've got a handful more from Amazon and Temu. So far I've got Megadio (velociraptor), Jetsam (turtle), Bluecrab and Kanibal (crabs which also combine), Onitopte (dragonfly/helicopter), Demon Dart (rhino beetle/jet), Reaper (mantis), and Wandering Star (smaller axolotl). 12:55 Optimal Optimus did beat them to the punch decades earlier, mind. He has robot, gorilla, trukk and jet modes...
What annoys me the most about the cancellation of the Digivolving Spirits line is that the 2 figures that were set to release were going to be from Tamers. Specifically Guilmon to Gallentmon and Impmon to Beelzemon. Not only are those 2 of my favorite digimon, but they looked awesome from what I could find from toy show previews
I had Neo Shifters when I was a kid, I remember the plastic quality being too brittle that parts easily crumble just by building and transforming those
Random Alien factoid: there was a tie-in comic of the original movie that featured a scene of the alien curling up into a box. The writer was supposedly shown a rough cut of the movie and swears he remembers this scene being in there, but no one else has any idea what he's talking about. Similarly I found a way to transform deep one where all the arms can unfold on both halves and he becomes this six armed grappler.

4:21 "if humans could take out their hearts and run around as the hearts". Better to describe them as Transformers Masterforce, a series of small transformers that created larger bodies that they plug into and they control the large bodies as their consciousness connects to said bodies.
I have a set of Beast boxes. 4 of them that all turn into dogs AND THEN COMBINES INTO A DAMN T-REX. The individual dogs have great names, but the combine mode (as far as I'm aware) does not. I call it, Feralsaurus
Digimon fusion toys may be underwhelming, but the plushies carry it! They're the best part (they were Shoutmon and Cutemon, Shoutmon is once again my favorite)
Have you done Metal Cardbot yet? It's a great show with transformers-esque robots with cute designs. Plus, there are figures, so the toy review aspect might be fun.
To me, Digimon Frontiers was fine as a one-off. And don't forget that Season 3 had the humans fusing with their Digimon to achieve their most powerful forms. Biomerge I think it was called. What if they made a toy out of that? A human figure and a Digimon figure that you could combine to make the Biomerge form.
I have a Digimon figure like that, Alphamon. It got a lot of back pack on it in her Alphamon form. I love Alphamon more, so I just kept her in that form.
Beastdrive reminds me of this other brand of toys with a similar design philosophy: dinosaurs becoming vehicles. I think it was called…Mighty Dino? I’d have to go back and check, but I’m 90% sure that’s the name
I feel like Digimon should have paid Hasbro to get the Transformers engineers on it, they could have achieved some black magic for some even greater results.
Might date me some but of the digimon shows, seasons 3 and 4 (Tamers and Frontier) were what I watched growing up and barely caught anything of seasons 1 or 2 (except the lady with the hat sitting on the shoulders of a cactus, that image is burned into my mind) And, the fact that tamers and frontier are both so different made me enjoy both equally, feeling like both shows had a new gimmick like how power rangers was or transformers was. (Also I will die on the hill that frontier had amongst the best opening songs of the era, on par even with code lyoko and teen titans)
Mega construx is the only other brick built company that is in retail stores in America besides Lego (Oh yeah, and also nanoblock occasionally but nanoblock is its own entity because it’s smaller legos.)
I have just to my right at the pc station the Metamor-Force Kōtetsu Jeeg it's a Voyagerish class die-cast feast of a Headmaster on the price point of a Titan, but it's gorgeous.
As dope as BeastBox is, the fact that they mixed up the Xenomorph's larval stages (chestburster coming out of the egg instead of the facehugger) bugs me more than it reasonably should.
Well they didn't mix it up that was just the only place they could have reasonably put the chestburster. Really they could have not put the chest burster in the set at all, so I consider it a bonus
If I'm correct, didn't neo shifters come out the same year as the flying bionicle series came out? Both Neo Shifters and Bionicle that year had a feature where the figures could shoot something out their chest (in the bionicle case the bad guys)
Is kibble an official term or slang? I've been watching thews reviews and he says kibble a lot regarding the big back pieces of transformed robots that show
Kibble started as slang but it's the accepted term for extra pieces that hang off of a transformer. This can go for both modes EX: visible robot hands in vehicle mode could be considered kibble.
I am Praying that Kamen Rider makes it into one of these videos. We literally got Spy Gadget Animals. Drink Can Animals and Fast Food Robots in the span of 3 years. Also the shows are peak.
Ah another Beastbox fans! I don't know which one you have other than the parrot but I highly recommend the owl aka White Noise! It's like one of the best BB you can get cos the cube mode is so clean with alot of surface to it (I mean other BB tend to have gaps or holes in it). 7:26 Do you know they are releasing an Xenomorph 2.0 later this year or the next? The 2.0 is more proportion like a human in a suit than being chibi looking. Sure you loose the facehugger and the egg but the 2.0 look so much cooler! Also the original chibi is super expensive in the aftermarket now! I do kinda want to get into Beastdrive or rather get Space Springer (Rabbit is my Chinese Zodiac). However I am put off by the gunpla aspect to it (used to be into Gunpla). I mean sure you build it together but if you really want to make it shine, you need to apply stickers (which has water one that I never used before) and panel lining! Too much work man!

Also can confirm Lightning lizard, Space Springer and Wheel Raptor are all amazing but wayyyyy better with the decals. And Wheel Raptor has ankle tilts
This is EPIC man
Yea it is bro
I loved my neo shifter! Great video!
BeastBox are some of my favorites to collect. I just got Wandering Star today!
4:21 "if humans could take out their hearts and run around as the hearts". Better to describe them as Transformers Masterforce, a series of small transformers that created larger bodies that they plug into and they control the large bodies as their consciousness connects to said bodies.
I have transformable versions of the snap squad. They were just unofficial retools of the snap squad by modifying them as a transformer.
No not yet but it is very much on my list
next video of transformers that are not transformers you need to do Switch & Go Dinos lol. nice video.
I had neoshifter growing up. Those pieces broke so easily
Neo shifters were so damn hard to put together. I always had to ask my parents to put them together
There are also: Super 10, Screechers wild, Tobot, Dinoster, Robot Trains, and more
To me, Digimon Frontiers was fine as a one-off. And don't forget that Season 3 had the humans fusing with their Digimon to achieve their most powerful forms. Biomerge I think it was called. What if they made a toy out of that? A human figure and a Digimon figure that you could combine to make the Biomerge form.
I liked frontier personally but tamers and fusion were the worst imo tho it is nice to hear people still talk about digimon in general
"transformers that aren't transformers" proceeds to talk about Bionicle and the Bionicle rip off made by Mega blocks.
Yep
i owned a neo-shifter when i was very young. it was the first "biconical" i owned.
I've had good experiences with the Beastbox line... but man they need to improve the Koala. He needs more articulation for his arms and hands!
petition to get jake a blu ray player
I’ve got the quad pod and the white and blue Neo shifter. They’re so cool.
I have a Digimon figure like that, Alphamon. It got a lot of back pack on it in her Alphamon form. I love Alphamon more, so I just kept her in that form.
The fact he called Pteranodon Pterodactyl and called it a dinosaur...
Beastdrive reminds me of this other brand of toys with a similar design philosophy: dinosaurs becoming vehicles. I think it was called…Mighty Dino? I’d have to go back and check, but I’m 90% sure that’s the name
Need more Bionicle videos from you!
I feel like Digimon should have paid Hasbro to get the Transformers engineers on it, they could have achieved some black magic for some even greater results.
52 stuff is really cool. I just dont think any of their designs have surpassed the DIO dino. really clear shapes and not overly-complex.
Beast Drive Cyclops is amazing. I adore BeastBox.
I miss having all that Digimon merch, but rarely were the digivolvers that great
5:00 IT IS a Zamor compatible launcher and projectiles, the sphere is lighter than zamors tho so it's faster but brittle
Might date me some but of the digimon shows, seasons 3 and 4 (Tamers and Frontier) were what I watched growing up and barely caught anything of seasons 1 or 2 (except the lady with the hat sitting on the shoulders of a cactus, that image is burned into my mind)
And, the fact that tamers and frontier are both so different made me enjoy both equally, feeling like both shows had a new gimmick like how power rangers was or transformers was. (Also I will die on the hill that frontier had amongst the best opening songs of the era, on par even with code lyoko and teen titans)
Mega construx is the only other brick built company that is in retail stores in America besides Lego
(Oh yeah, and also nanoblock occasionally but nanoblock is its own entity because it’s smaller legos.)
Not entirely true, I'm working on something regarding that
It's barely in stores and Mattel's latest stunt with the branding isn't doing any favors.
@@dumbjakeworld Neo Shifters wasn't their first attempt at transforming figures, either. Remember Blok-Bots?
I want to buy Naughty Saur and repaint it as Beast Wars Megatron or Dinobot
I have just to my right at the pc station the Metamor-Force Kōtetsu Jeeg it's a Voyagerish class die-cast feast of a Headmaster on the price point of a Titan, but it's gorgeous.
The i can’t believe It’s not butter equivalent to transformers
Does anyone know where that animated footage with the Transformers if from; at the 0:50 to 0:57 mark.
Transformers devastation game
As dope as BeastBox is, the fact that they mixed up the Xenomorph's larval stages (chestburster coming out of the egg instead of the facehugger) bugs me more than it reasonably should.
Well they didn't mix it up that was just the only place they could have reasonably put the chestburster. Really they could have not put the chest burster in the set at all, so I consider it a bonus
@@dumbjakeworld Yeah fair enough, it makes more sense now lol.
If they did make the t rex tank, they could call it turrex.
Digimon Frontier was more of a "What if Digimon was like Power Rangers."
DIGIMON. DIGITAL MONSTERS. DIGIMON ARE THE CHAMPIONS. 🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥
Thanks sommucj Jake! Love your channel btw.
I am Praying that Kamen Rider makes it into one of these videos.
We literally got Spy Gadget Animals. Drink Can Animals and Fast Food Robots in the span of 3 years.
Also the shows are peak.
Y drivers que se transforman en el propio rider
Too much work man!
still patiently waiting for the transforming gunpla like the Kyrios and the Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam
Soon
13:25 for me his headsculpt, and body in general reminds me of alpha from Netflix show "Glitch Techs"
What so like a bioformer (that's a bionicle transformer moc)
Also should i sub a like the vid jake
